  1. You can have Stamps transferred same visit as obtaining extension. CW you can apply for extension up to 45 days early.. Pretty sure the transfer of stamps etc is done at the extension desks (L desks) so you can make an appointment for extension and they will do it same desk. Don't forget letter from embassy, if your embassy provides one. Also notify your bank of change of pp number. BTW:if you had valid non O-A you could exit and reenter and be given a 12 month stamp. Thinking you are on extensions. Regarding the transfer, the visa will not be transferred just information regarding the visa is transferred.
  2. As you stated take the balance up to 800k for two months prior to application. Also have wife attend immigration office with you.. You should not require a TM30 as your address has not changed. Have your most recent TM47 receipt with you. Thread here.... https://aseannow.com/topic/1290794-switch-non-imm-o-extension-from-marriage-to-retirement/
  3. Don't doubt your experience. Just surprised. I sometimes post that flights from nearby countries almost always have airline requesting onward flight. Strange that long haul flights often do not. Also low cost airlines eg AirAsia very strict. As someone suggested that if there is an issue just step away from check in and book "rent a ticket"
  4. OP, that's a bummer. Suggest you forget about the appeal and enjoy your visit to thailand. How long is your planned trip.. There are options without the tourist visa.
  5. Yes that's the way it should be. TM47 should not be required as my post indicated. I also indicated that in Nov 2022 I had to provide 90 day report. So what should someone provide at CW for retirement extension.
  6. Say what! Read my earlier post. A TM47 was required from me at Doc check for annual extension based on retirement at CW Nov last year. Yeah sure some folk will post it was not asked for. As always immigration is hit and miss. Sort out your 90 day report prior to extention. You can do it on same visit for extension.. Weird thread.
  7. It varies (as usual) depending on immigration office. Couple of weeks prior to expiry is the norm. Some offices refuse earlier than that. Some allow it much earlier. My advice to OP is that if circumstance is explained then hopefully immigration office will accommodate. It certainly is possible.
  8. No. You need to exit Thailand and reenter Thailand. Obviously exit without reentry permit thereby killing off the non O-A. You can then reenter visa exempt and obtain a non O based on retirement and subsequent extension.
  9. She could obtain extension based on being a dependent since you are married. That does not require financials. She cannot obtain a reentry permit at airport. That can only be done when actually leaving and past security with boarding pass . She can obtain reentry permit at immigration prior to extension but that is a bad idea. Would have expiry only till current stamp. Needs to obtain that after extension. She can obtain the reentry permit at immigration on same visit for extension. She obtains extension first then reentry permit immediately after.
  10. You should get extension straight away if possible. Any permission of stay stamp in "old pp" remains valid even when new pp issued. BTW when does current pp expire.
  11. Excellent. If you are flying back in visa exempt consider the possible requirement for onward flight by airline at departure. Google "onwardflight.com" and rent a flight ticket companies are listed. They work.
  12. First up TM47 should have nothing to do with extensions. Personally mine is based on retirement. My previous 9 extensions retirement a TM47 receipt was never requested. My most recent extension Nov 2022....I had an appointment and went through document check chick. She demanded the TM47. Felt like I was dealing with school kid. I always take the kitchen sink with me so had my most recent TM47. And people wonder why I dislike immigration. Bunch of "limited" folk.
  13. Previously CW was the sensible office that did not require TM47 receipt for annual extensions. That has now changed. OP, I suggest that you attend CW for transfer of stamps/visa info to new passport and 90 day report prior to trip for extension. It's best imo to make the two trips. Transfer stamps and 90 report then extension when it's due. Regards health age etc , why not check out cost of agent for the minor stuff and do the extension yourself. Or ask if they can take accompany you to CW and facilitate the whole box and dice. Obviously you would need to meet the financials requirements. In Bangkok you cold consult @ThaiVisaCentre
  14. The 90 starts from due date when done via mail even if posted 15 days early. The online 90 starts on day it's lodged. Doing it early online would mean one extra report per year. It's a one minute exercise. Doing early gives opportunity to do it by another option if it's down. Mail or in person
  15. This thread suggests one week. https://aseannow.com/topic/1102143-an-idiots-guide-to-the-retirement-extension-process-at-samui-immigration-office/
  16. Onward flight not required if you have visa or reentry permit. Without the airline at departure may request to see onward flight if flying visa exempt.
  17. You won't be banned. You can return anytime visa exempt. Primarily this exit is to kill off the non O and avoid overstay possibility due to divorce ending your previously valid permission of stay.
  18. Personally, suggest that you obtain a tourist visa . Vientiane would be good option. Note that an appointment is required. Same applies to Saigon. Note you are also able to do two land border visa exempt entries per calendar year.
  19. He is on the wrong bus. Think referring to non O retirement. You are not 50 yet so that's not possible. Your options eg tourist visa have been discussed in the thread. An METV would be your best option giving you up to 9 months however that is normally obtained in your pp country. SETV is for quick easy option. Can obtain from Laos, Vietnam etc.
  20. Absolutely not. At departure the immigration officer may point out to you that you do not have a reentry permit. He is being helpful. Just acknowledge you don't want one.. You will have no issue at departure. BTW: Think you are doing the wise thing exit Thailand given the visit from immigration to wife home.
