  1. You are correct. Here is cut/paste from Tod Daniels in another forum. "There is no requirement that the 800K baht funds come from abroad, only that it's in a thai bank account in your name only for 2 months before you apply for the yearly extension. you'll need a 2 month detail transaction report, the standard bank letter (stating the balance the date they write the letter) and you need to update your bank book the day you apply for the extension"
  2. Thanks for report. Don't know, why the io insisted on international transfer. That is certainly required for Non O however not for extensions. Requesting Lease seems the norm now, at CW. In case of living with wife that would normally be accepted with her copy of housebook+ ID. Did you have a TM30 for address. Seems the bank was very helpful. Great result. Rest assured for next extension the funds will not need proof of international transfer.
  3. Exactly. I'm jealous of folk that have a LTR. I don't quite qualify for the 80k USD income. Probably could if included assets/super etc. Now on retirement extensions income method is also a comfortable fit so not too fussed. Bottom line is the LTR is excellent option to live in Thailand.
  4. If I'm reading this correctly that's 60 (setv) + ve 60 + extension then another ve entry 60. Then went to Vietnam jan... And now, want to reenter Thailand ve. You need safe entry services 100% Cost will be 4-4.5k
  5. Did you obtain 30 day extensions to both. When was last time in Thailand.
  6. Well that's good news. Bit off topic but amazes me that some countries eg Canada, USA etc require the current passport to be sent with the application. When I renewed my Oz pp it was done online also with post to embassy in Bangkok. The new pp is posted to your Thai address. You keep existing pp.
  7. Thanks for report. Why was first application rejected. I did one last Nov from Oz and will do another one soon. The application is so simple
  8. What's wrong with visiting a bank branch.
  9. If you have digital freelancer background you could/should look into DTV as an option. https://www.thaiembassy.com/thailand-visa/dtv-visa-thailand#
  10. Back to the OP... Re late 90 day report at immigration you will be fined 2000b. Some offices may allow an under the table discount. Not common. If stopped on unrelated matter and overdue Report the fine may be 5k. Simple.
  11. PE Visa = White Elephant. Other alternatives eg DTV now make that option redundant. Depending on qualifying LTR also great option.
  12. The OP, spends part of the year in Thailand. Often referred to as snowbirds. How much of the year do you spend in Thailand. There are other options than annual extensions. In reality the embassy letter is bit of a scam. Think some embassies actually require some sort of proof of pension/income. Others the "letter" is simply an affidavit, statutory declaration etc. Not worth the paper it's written on
  13. In reality it shouldn't really matter. For someone living in Thailand ongoing (expats) then annual extensions using income method is a good fit. Many do that without embassy letter. For the snowboard gang that perhaps spend 5-6 months in Thailand their are other visa options eg METV. A 6+ Month stay could be done with one exit/reentry. In addition there are other alternatives
  14. Thread drifting a tad. The key take away from OP post is where he states...... "Monthly transfers to Thailand are now needed, even for the nationals from countries whose embassies still provide the affidavits. And proof from the Thai bank that these transfers came from abroad." Regardless of embassy letter or not, some immigration offices will want to see the actual international monthly transfers 40/65k Suggest anyone using income method to actually make the transfers. 12 month bank statement is best way to show that.
  15. BTW: ignore the touts when you go to pay. Just pay and very shortly your visa will be approved via email
  16. Very doubtful that he would have 800k seasoned for two months to change to based on retirement.
  17. I recall your thread. Suggest anyone using income method that obtains embassy letter to actually do monthly transfers of 65k + I also did extension retirement income method last Oct at CW. Being Oz no embassy letter. I obtained a 12 month bank statement (200b) couple of days prior to application. Statement shows 12 monthly international transfers. No embassy letter - No problem
  18. Yep... Couple of horror stories re renewal of UK pp. More about the actual renewal rather than immigration. Think in recent months things have improved. https://aseannow.com/topic/1359941-british-passport-renewal-in-bangkok/ https://aseannow.com/topic/1376605-renewing-uk-passport-cost-and-time/
  19. That won't work. The monthly deposits have to be international transfers using income method
  20. The extension expiry date will be same as expiry of passport. Obtain a new pp if you have time. PP nationality?
  21. First up TM47 has nothing to do with extension. The reason I asked which immigration office is that I have done extension + 90 report on same visit. I remember clearly because I (in error) made the first appointment for 90 report and the extension appointment second. The io at Report desk sent me away to obtain extension first. If questioned at extension desk re 90 report explain you are doing the report after extension. Note the Report Desks have changed location. Now on Level 3 Link for appointments https://bangkok.immigration.go.th/en/onlineservice-and-publicguide/
  22. Indeed. To quote The Man ubonjoe.. "A joint account will not be accepted for a extension based upon marriage" Note: for married guys you may wish to have your wife as a signatory to your Thai bank account. That works for immigration
  23. No. You should be able to do the 90 report at time of extension (4 days after due date) without fine. Note you do the extension first followed by the 90 report. Which immigration office.
  24. There is no 30 day extension to a entry with a Non O. There is a 60 "to visit wife" however that requires marriage docs.
  25. I do everything on an Android phone.
