visa for dependent elderly parent?
DrJack54 replied to techhasse's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Piggyback on your extensions based on retirement as your dependant is certainly and option. Just one person's option but I suggest given father's situation the use agent would be good option. Even moreso given that he previously used Key Visa. There are other good agents in Pattaya. Check out Maneerat at Soi post office. Approx 13k for extension. No funds required. Bank account is required -
Is 5 consecutive entries allowed?
DrJack54 replied to steve0101's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Very few (if any) reports of refused entry. However it's a matter of time. In 2019 (pre covid) there were several reports of refused entry via air visa exempt esp at Bangkok airports. Refused entry is significant. In almost all cases you are either flown back to airport of departure or to your pp country. Even this is not simple. For example if I flew from Saigon and was refused entry eg DMK it's not simple to be flown back to Vietnam. Being Oz I require a visa to enter Vietnam and currently they are only issuing e-Visa. World of pain. There are threads similar to yours every other day. This one stands out as you have spent basically zero time out of Thailand. You are playing Russian roulette. If you are determined to stay longer most likely a tourist visa from Vientiane would be best option. Appointment required. Stating this for others. For long stays such as your it's best to keep one land border visa exempt entry up your sleeve. In your case your most recent entry should have been with a SETV -

Another visa exempt via air would be a miracle. -

You won't be doing a visa exempt entry via land as you have used your 2 per calendar year. You should obtain a tourist visa. Vientiane and HCMC would be couple of options. Both consulates require an appointment. You did not indicate how much time you have spent OUTSIDE of Thailand since Dec last year. -
Passport stuck at embassy as checkin nears

The OP posted ongoing ridiculous information from the start and his subsequent posts. Surprised this thread got any traction. -
Immigration house check
DrJack54 replied to James76's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Many poor irrelevant replies in this thread. Immigration can check to verify address at their discretion. Obviously this occurs in many offices for extensions based on marriage. Also for "conversion" to non O based on retirement from tourist visa or visa exempt stamp. Vaguely recall of Hua Hin immigration checking on (in particular) USA nationals several years ago Nothing significant about this thread. -
I seriously cannot understand your thread. Of course everyone gets friend request on Facebook. Generally from young Thai ladies. And you are surprised and post a "warning" Ridiculous.

DrJack54 replied to zenplay's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I also use a FD. The minimum deposit for my bank Kasikorn it 1000b. I make deposit on day on my extension at CW. Note: there have been many posts that this is not required for FD account for extension at CW. -
visa for dependent elderly parent?
DrJack54 replied to techhasse's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You have few options. Without outlining all... I think given your father's situation the use of an agent ongoing would be one consideration. He would no longer require funds in Thai bank. If much younger some would suggest that he can piggyback on your non O retirement. That's possible. Off topic: hats off to you taking good care. -
It's a well know fact the Extensions are only issued to date of pp expiry. That's obvious. Obtaining a pp renewal does not alter that date. When you transfer any stamps your permission of stay will not change. BTW: Visas are not transfered. The first page of your new pp will note non O visa information. For future extension applications a photocopy of that page will be required.

Non-O visa (Retirement purpose)
DrJack54 replied to zenplay's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Yes -
I have zero idea of what your OP is about. Are you referring to issuing a non O VISA or perhaps issuing an annual extension. Are you asking about delays in the under consideration period for extension based on marriage?

90 day reporting when not in the country
DrJack54 replied to sikishrory's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Don't understand your OP. When you exit Thailand your 90 Day clock is reset upon reentry date.
