  1. That's horrible. To rub it in current reports of folk going to Vientiane embassy to make payment for application (no online payment available) and the e-Visa approval sent almost straight away. Hopefully someone who has recently done the process at PP can advise. What type of visa?
  2. This is a very valid point. Sometimes overlooked. The option for expats married to non Thai is to eg "piggyback" Spouse on the husbands extension as a dependent This is messy (granted possible). LTR great option.
  3. Years and years back I was applying for tourist visa to Thailand at Saigon consulate. They wanted hard copy of my flight. Walk straight across Rd to a business. Asked if I could forward simple email (flight) could they print it. No problem. Tried to tip em but wouldn't take anything. It ain't difficult.
  4. Thinking best to wait for any announcements when things actually happy . Bit like the 300b entry tax. Here is link to site you may have seen. https://eta.in.th/th
  5. Being Oz ...I require eVisa to enter Vietnam. My last two trips to Saigon ..one from Melb and one from DMK I had to provide hard copy print out for airline and immigration. Don't understand your point. Enough.
  6. You would not be converting a Non O-A to Non O as your title suggests. You would be using an agent to circumvent the insurance requirement for a fee. Suggest the best option is to start over (as many have done) Exit Thailand without a reentry permit and from visa exempt entry obtain a Non O. Alternatively if you want to use agent then kill off the Non O-A as suggested then use agent to obtain Non O + ongoing annual extensions
  7. You are making simple into confusing. Obtain a e-Visa for any country not just Thailand and step 1. Make hard copy printout. You will show to airline for sure and they check it completely. Also be on the ready to present hard copy to io on arrival if required.
  8. Got it. Pointing out the obvious. For that first extension that will create your ongoing extension renewal valid "until date" Choose a date for first extension that fits nicely with ongoing periods spent in Thailand.
  9. Having PR status don't you need to visit immigration prior to exit. If so why not get transfer to new pp at same time
  10. As pointed out above... Clarify if you indeed have "permanent resident" Status.
  11. @michael888 you shortly will start your 30 day extension (you mentioned earlier) ... Prior to expiry Obtain 60 day extension to visit wife. With 15+ days remaining on the 60 day extension you can attend CW and obtain the Non O. As mentioned above the option of obtaining a e-Visa Non O at eg Vientiane is an option. Current thread running where Non O eVisa (payment for application Vientiane) was processed in hours. Thinking obtain it at CW better option.
  12. First up which immigration would not let you Obtain a Non O marriage in Thailand. Obtaining a Non O from visa exempt or tourist visa at local immigration office is possible. Just clear up the quoted sentence above. If you obtain an e-Visa Non O it will will have an issue date and enter before date. When you enter Thailand you will be stamped in for 90 days. After 400k has been in bank for 2 months you can apply for a 12 month extension. Name of immigration office? Somewhere strange like Samui? Did you have 15+ days remaining on your permission of stay when you applied for the Non O. Even if you didn't you could have obtained a 60 day extension to buy time
  13. What visa are you after. There is no Multiple Entry Non O (now) You could consider a Non O + 12 month extension. However that has financial requirements. For a 5 1/2 month stay not sure if that's best option. If this 5 1/2 per year is planned to be ongoing then yes a Non O + annual extensions is an option
  14. The OP was applying for a Non O NOT an extension. He only required 400k in bank on day of application.
  15. There is no longer a limit of two visa exempt entries via land per calendar year.
  16. In your opinion. In any event off topic. The topic concerns a request from io to apply for Non O with minimum 2 months after marriage. BTW yet to see that requirement stated anywhere in official rules.
  17. With good reason. The airline at departure and also immigration on arrival check out the e-Visa details against the passport carefully. I found the account from OP at border crossing strange however seems that's the way it's done at border . Would not work via air.
  18. I will find someone through the grapevine. Regards advice to do it yourself or use company that includes assembly that won't cut it . The furniture I want is specific and the company does not provide assembly. Thanks for suggestions. Thread closed.
  19. He will require 15/21 days for Non O application as you correctly posted in this attached thread https://aseannow.com/topic/1342849-tourist-visa-exempt-then-apply-for-non-o-based-on-marriage/#findComment-19365691 Regarding applying for a non O with less than 2 months marriage, I don't doubt Tod advice above however there have been posts that the 2 month for length of marriage has not been required. I would like to read the rule of "two months minimum marriage to obtain a Non O" I have not seen that The OP has two options. Obtain a 60 day extension (best option) OR Obtain Non O from nearby consulate/embassy
  20. So there is some flat pack furniture that I want however assembly not available. It's not just one item. Sideboard, TV cabinet, etc I have no trouble finding most trades for make overs. Any suggestions for this in Din Daeng area for this type of work. Thailand Culture Center. Ta.
