  1. If you entered on visa exempt or tourist visa you can obtain a non O based on marriage. That grants a 90 day stay and depending on how long you wish to stay you could obtain a 12 month extension or obtain the 60 to visit wife. How long do you wish to stay in Thailand You cannot obtain a visa exempt or tourist visa while in Thailand. You would need to exit and return.
  2. In the main because it is rare to be asked for an onward flight at Thai airport on arrival. The requirement comes from the airline to issue boarding pass. Not always but common. If entering with a visa (even TV) you will not be asked for onward flight by airline or immigration.
  3. There are reports of no issue with "rent a ticket" companies. Many available for about 12-15 USD. As previously mentioned having wifi access and stepping away from counter to book a throw away ticket is back up plan..
  4. Won't be a problem. Did you consider enter visa exempt and obtain 60 extension to visit wife. No police check required..
  5. Update. Had the hip replacement last Thursday. The stay in hospital is 5 nights. The hard work is ahead. Had first walk with a frame today. Zero pain however on pain killers so not banking on simple recovery. Wonderful hospital so happy with that. Mods can close this thread if wish to.
  6. ''Returned to usual residence " TM30 not required Returned from where. If overseas then the TM30 would only be required if you entered on new visa or visa exempt
  7. Actually type in IT Square Laski and you will see location. It's on the 3rd floor. There are photocopy machines. You can make an appointment. If you enter visa exempt you will obtain your 30 day extension to visa exempt entry at that office.
  8. Agree. 10baht return stamped envelope + 37baht EMS Easy Peasy. Passport never leaves your possession. Having said that I'm a recent convert to the new online system. Obviously can't do it with first ever 90 day, however I was able to do it after a mail report. Vast improvement.
  9. In many cases it is a requirement of the airline. For some reason it seems local countries are strict. For example don't try flying from Vietnam without on onward ticket if flying visa exempt. Japan similar with AirAsia along with many others. What carrier did you use from Oz. I use Jetstar and have been asked when they have overlooked my reentry permit. Extremely rare to be asked for onward flight upon arrival at pp control. It's an airline gig for issuing boarding pass.
  10. Yes. Think they open 8.30am at Kasikorn. Not sure never been that early
  11. I understand the appointment issue if it's at 8.30am. Yes the do accept the bank letter the previous day/s. My experience is that CW prefer to see activity (deposit/withdrawal) on day of application. I do 100baht with same clerk and she kindly prints out last page of bb. I deal with Kasikorn.
  12. Buy a 30 day coved 10k covid insurance for your tourist visa. Ás for your 30 day extension insurance is not required..
  13. The second part of that process after exempt entry would be to obtain a non O visa giving permission of stay of 90 days and in the last 30 days obtain 12 month extension based on retirement.
  14. I suggest that most would think that's a given. Perhaps even much earlier.
  15. Try this one. https://tm47.immigration.go.th/tm47/#/login
  16. Many farang do as you describe. I'm in a long relationship (not married) and travel (pre covid) a LOT. Personally I never use the thai lane.
  17. Some immigration offices have been issuing your first extension from date you apply then further covid extensions from end of current permit..
  18. "What does it mean when someone is a dill? a fool;"
  19. They were refused because because the immigration office is a dill.
  20. Bumping your thread as you didn't receive a reply. My understanding is that what you suggest is in fact possible since covid. This is with certain schools. Keep in mind that some land borders are open now.
  21. Should not be required. Having stated that, there was a similar question recently and that immigration office wanted applicant to trace back bank statements. Unreasonable. Think chat with your imm office best idea. Is the plan to exit Thailand kill off your non O-A and reenter?
  22. The onward flight is not for immigration upon arrival. It can be required by airline at departure to issue boarding pass. Was not asked for from the airline that you flew with.
