  1. Originally the insurance coverage had to cover the period that you would be stamped into Thailand. So in your case 4.5 months so you would require a policy of 5 months regardless of leaving prior to that. This seems very unfair. For example a holder of a non O-A would be stamped in for 12 months even for short visit. There was an article from Richard Barrow suggesting that a blanket period might be made for those with non imm extensions. 30 days was suggested. I don't know what the current situation is and will be interested in some reports in this thread of what is actually required.
  2. That would be a big surprise. Many thought that the 60 day covid extensions would be continued however there was never a suggestion of an Amnesty.
  3. I think currently you can change to extension based on ED if it's a university course without exit Thailand.
  4. Clearly I'm missing something. He has Thai spouse. They wish to attend university. The only permission of stay required is for him. Why doesn't he stick with Extension based on marriage to a Thai. Has simple easy financial requirements and just attend university.
  5. The 3 nights in this area has opened my eyes up a little. Always just Bangkok to Pier in taxi then onto Koh Samet. Bringing the car this time has provided flexibility. The road upgrade is completed and from where we live in Bangkok near rama 9 Rd the drive down is a dream.
  6. Finally. So my bankbook that I show CW immigration for my annual extension shows/proves that I have met the money in bank requirements is exactly same procedure that folk do at Jomtien. "There can not be a misplaced receipt as not given...., not existing" Excellent news means attending immigration post 90 days is optional. Leave it there. Hopefully Jomtien will drop this nonsense at some point. For some a trip to immigration can be very inconvenient.
  7. Again a simple question. When you apply for your annual extension what do you give Jomtien immigration to prove that you returned post 90 days of your previous extension to show money in the bank.. Do you have a receipt or what? If nothing then by default it's not a requirement. If it's a receipt and you have misplaced it again what's is the consequence. Simple question.
  8. Is it enforced. Yes or No. Simple question. If it is enforced then almost certainly there would be report from someone that they were unable to obtain an extension due to not returning after 90 days. Also can anyone dealing with Jomtien explain what happens when they apply for their extension. Does the io ask/demand some sort of receipt/proof that they attended after 90 days previously.
  9. On Nov 2, I was at CW for my annual extension and was asked nothing.
  10. Show me ONE report where anyone has been refused their 12 month extension because they did not return to Jomtien immigration 90 days after previous extension. Out of curiosity...what receipt do they give for returning after 90 days. Is it a smiley stamp or .....
  11. Can't do 90 report via mail? Why would you need a TM30 unless your changing address. If your imm office is rogue then either use an agent or use different immigration office. Agree a lot of trouble depending on where someone is located. Don't give in.
  12. Ask them for proof that you did not turn up to show bankbook balance. Is anyone given a receipt of reporting back? Fallback position file a TM30 and obtain extension at a normal immigration office.
  13. Thanks for report. Wonder how long they will keep this rubbish up. Mind you I accidentally just now tried to enter 7/11 and forgot mask. (Travelling in car). The staff gave out a big yell. Fair enough.
  14. Not sure, however perhaps you can go by yourself with her pp and bankbook update. Someone that deals with that rogue joint will advise if that is possible.
  15. Fly to Saigon? News to me. Vietnam is planning a 3 phase entry. I have very little detail. BTW current covid numbers in Vietnam showing increase. Missed where op is from however could require visa in addition to other requirements. Can you outline current requirements to enter Vietnam.
  16. She can go anytime after the 90 day check. In any event it's a nonsense requirement from Jomtien. Friday 26 would be worst day to go as covid extension deadline. Go later
  17. Nice of them. They are tipping that current covid extensions ending Nov 27 will be extended. Which it will. Also assisting with option of not obtaining and extension based on retirement but obtaining 2 covid extensions. Maybe not all immigration offices would be that flexible. Personally I would obtain the extension by having the money in bank and once granted use the 800k as you like, given that plan to leave Thailand within next 12 months.
  18. You don't need an agent. With the credit advice you mentioned and your bank statements you will be fine. As for other requirements re photocopies of passport pages etc.....this is covered in many threads. You don't just flop out the landlord ID and passport.
  19. Have you used your 60 day extension to visit wife. I know nothing about Samui immigration. I'm getting the impression that they are weird. They can't cancel your non O.
  20. That's correct. Think it's the case for non O-A issued prior to when they introduced the insurance requirement. Not sure when the OP obtained his non O-A.
  21. Obtain a covid extension. Place 400k in bank account. When it's been there 2 months obtain 12 month extension based on marriage. If the covid extensions continue you could even obtain another one to give you more time to organize the money. After extension (marriage) is granted you can use the money as you wish.
  22. Did you read the OP plan. Immigration will not facilitate that. No point in going.
  23. Yes and since the non O gives a 90 day stay it fits nicely with the 2 month seasoning requirement for the extension and time in the last month to apply for extension.
