  1. You may be right, although alcoholism, smoking, and poor diet were also factors.
  2. I agree. Processing facts and data into models and predictions is part of science, in case you have not noticed. What are your qualifications and experience that make you a better judge?
  3. While I deny I stare at my balls, at least I can say I am capable of so doing if I wished. I only play with two balls in practice, to do so in competition would result in disqualification. It is well known Trump is a golf cheat, the connection is odious.
  4. IMO the efflux of time may have made Professor Wyman's material either a side issue, or redundant. Quite a few countries have collapsing populations, e.g. 863 males in Russia for every 1000 females. Less people of working age to support the population bulge of the Baby Boomers. Climate change is the main challenge for generations after me, it will not affect me, as I will be well gone. Consider this: the conservative models of the Tibetan Plateau are predicting by 2050, flows of water to the Ganges, Brahmaputra and Mekong rivers will be half what they are now. About 1 billion people depend on those rivers for water and food. Such changes in our environment will create economic refugees, which will make what is happening with Ukraine look like a tea party.
  5. I have no doubt there are guys around that are smarter than you and me. Nowadays, I prefer entertainment to deep and meaningful thought. Where does omphaloskepsis get you anyway?
  6. No, I used it because it is part of my vocabulary. I am assuming your spelling of the noun syllabus is a deliberate error. As I am in the top 0.1% of the population in terms of spelling and numerical accuracy, please cease hurting my eyes.
  7. I would not presume to know what is going on in your head, I can but speculate. Vaseline was formulated to treat dry and cracked skin. There are milder formulations such as Sorbolene around nowadays, albeit still not recommended for humpy-rumpy.
  8. IIRC there was an article in "The Economist" about 30 years ago which had data proving the number of children a woman had was inversely proportional to the level of education they attained.
  9. Mule fritters. You wrote it because you like to post discursively, perhaps catharsis.
  10. Average life expectancy in Russia 1845 - 1945 was very bleak, less than 40. https://www.statista.com/statistics/1041395/life-expectancy-russia-all-time/
  11. I have been golfing for 68 years, and never needed Vaseline for the thousands of kilometres I have walked. Conclusion: said husband was a fat slug. "A Little Dab Will Do Ya" is from an advertising jingle for Brylcreem, a tonsorial preparation. It's an interesting example of an invert emulsion. I would expect Vaseline to be highly irritating if used in genital areas, you have been warned. Composition : Water (aqua), Glycerin, Stearic Acid, Isopropyl Palmitate, Glycol Stearate, Peg-100 Stearate, Mineral Oil, Dimethicone, Petrolatum, Glyceryl Stearate, Phenoxyethanol, Cetyl Alcohol, Methylparaben, Acrylates/c10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Triethanolamine, Propylparaben, Disodium EDTA, Stearamide Amp, Cedrol, Dihydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride and Hydroxyethyl Urea.
  12. Please keep up, I have posted multiple times my GF is 23 years younger than me. Which puts her over your 43 yo bar. Not a problem for me or her, as we have had plenty of Big Bangs. With more than our share of naked singularities.
  13. I am wondering if you have early onset Alzheimers. IIRC, a few threads ago you were in your early 80's, and claiming a life of celibacy. You pay for nooky one way or the other, stop kidding yourself. Many posters have pointed out it is far cheaper to rent, and the service is frequently better. I am baffled as to why people think sex ends at some defined decade, Moses and Mae West were still at it at an advanced age. I seriously doubt you will be posting less on TV if you find the woman of your fantasies. The balance of probabilities indicates you would be posting rhapsodies. In pink, of course.
  14. It depends on whether the work is enjoyable and creative. I can understand people working under high pressure or in boring jobs would feel that way. I loved my work, would still be doing it at 80 if age discrimination was not an insurmountable obstacle. Perhaps some Isaan farmers feel the same way about retiring.
  15. If I buy a product on Lazada which is sourced from within Thailand, my chances of getting a refund or exchange on an item are reasonably good, and the cost of getting the item back to the supplier is either low, or paid for by the supplier. China? Forget it. Buckley's chance.
  16. AFAIK the only issue with the Chinese MG brand is the very short track record w.r.to service, maintenance and reliability. D-max and HiLux have a much longer history, which is why they depreciate more slowly. One issue may be rust, I understand the LDV models have a very poor corrosion protection system. It's like when Japanese and succeeding Korean brands first hit Western markets, they got better with each iteration.
  17. Juristic persons do have the power to cut off electricity and water supply to offending or un-financial condos, although I understand it is very rarely exercised.
  18. "es irrt der mensch solang er strebt" ( Goethe ) It's nice to know moderators are human too.
  19. I wouldn't say it was dumbing down, more an intelligent response to complaints the food is too spicy. I have yet to see a Thai restaurant that does not have powdered chili at the table. I prefer adjusting the heat in the food there. Quite a few Thais add sugar to soften the chili impact at the table anyway, although that's not healthy.
  20. The most state-of-the art PET scanner is $750K. The cost of robotics used by AI would be significantly more IMO. Against that, every surgeon I have had in Australia has been earning over a million. AI would be operating to a diagram of the human body. Good surgeons have an instinct for the living flesh under the scalpel, that tells them when the body is deviating from what the diagram says it should be. How do the IT guys transfer said instinct to AI? Certainly, robotics play an important part in surgery nowadays. However, human guidance is still there. IT guys always over-hype, it comes with the territory. I have yet to meet an app or program which is 100% user-friendly.
  21. It is easier with getting supporting documents for the retirement extension. There are also the little nibbles of fees if operating an account in another province. Having said that, I have not needed to transfer my Bangkok Bank account with 800K from Chiang Mai to Chiang Rai. The BB staff in Chiang Rai seem quite happy to provide me with the bank letter and statements for the CM account. The OP's mileage may vary.
  22. Setting up a new gmail account is easy. If the communication from MS is genuine, let them do it. If not, it's a scam. If I were the OP, I would simply delete it. Given I use free Linux OS , and despise Microsoft and all its works, not likely to receive said email anyway.
  23. The OP can probably make price comparisons with what is available on eBay, Lazada or Gumtree. PC's are a commodity nowadays, most people prefer buying cheap new unless they are technically savvy.
  24. You may be right. However, combining the goals of eating healthy while also eating foods I enjoy is a preferable option for me. If I want potassium, plenty of it in avocados, greens and yoghurt.
  25. I have to wonder whether Mr. DeSantis has schizophrenia. Making LGBT people invisible, while supporting the Christian training of kids to believe in angels sounds quite schizophrenic to me. I guess as he imitates Trump, Mexicans and Muslims will be next. A bit awkward for him, Miami has a lot of Cubans.
