  1. What happened to Nakorn Chai Air bus service? A few years back I used their service CM to BKK and return several times, always quite happy with their service, and they had a good well deserved reputation for safety.
  2. Why no answer from the OP?
  3. If you were previously covered by Medicare it can be very quickly reinstated (5 minutes) by a quick visit to any Centrelink office. No charge. If you still have the old card or any document with your Medicare number take that with you to Centrelink. it makes the reinstatement process pretty much instantaneous.
  4. '...have a warped sense of who and what God is ..." So please share what God is to you and what you think others believe to be god.
  5. "...as well as homosexuality. ..." Strange, there's many theology experts who claim that homosexuality is not mentioned anywhere in the bible.
  6. "...difficult to imagine some of the yobbos on here bending down reverently before sidling into the pew...." I agree, because I am not a believer, and never will be. You might like to note there's been several reports recently that there is no evidence whatever that Jesus or God ever existed. My main experience with christianity was when I was conscripted for national service, about 1 month before the end of boot camp (3 months total) we were told that the next day we would going to the camp chapel to meet / listen to the camp chaplain (Church of England guy) for an hour. Up to that point nobody knew there was a chapel / chaplain in the camp, and a couple of soldiers were strongly upset because if they had known they would have tried to attend a service or gone to the chapel alone to pray. We marched in and were told to stand to attention in front of one of the chairs all lined in rows. The chaplain came in in his robes and told us to sit down. Two NCO trainers sat at the side along with our platoon officer, a young officer who had recently returned after his service in Vietnam was completed. The chaplain walked back and forth repeating continuously 'I am your friend', and 'Jesus, god and myself promise you that you will not get injured when you are in Sth Vietnam'. Plus more and more 'I am your friend'. Then he said I invite you to ask me any questions / any questions at all, and I will answer your questions. A few guys asked questions and the chaplain answered. Then I asked 'sir I have never understood where the bible came from?' The chaplain then 'turned' and got extremely angry and accused me of being insulting to the bible, god, jesus and to him. He then instructed 2 soldiers to march me to the camp commanders office and to tell the camp commander that I had been insulting. A few minutes later, no opportunity to confirm or deny the chaplains claim and i was ordered to do extra cleaning duties every morning from 3:00 am to until about 6. 30am for the rest of my time at the boot camp. A couple of days later a few of the new conscripts and myself were talking to the platoon officer. He mentioned 'there is severe danger in the operational areas in Sth. Vietnam, soldiers get killed, lose limbs and more and the chaplain should not have told you he can totally protect you, and he looked at me and said 'I'm sorry the chaplain got so angry with you and that you are doing kitchen duties for no valid reason'. The platoon officer then said; - Make sure you listen very carefully to your orders at all times - Never take any action that was not instructed by your senior leader except of course to try to shoot the enemy. So much for Christianity.
  7. Get your facts right, there's been several reports recently that vaping is just as dangerous as cigarette smoking.
  8. Well at least: -Wife -Minor wife(s) -The office girl -Step daughter(s) -And does it include groping the girl at the gasoline pump? -And groping girls on the bus
  9. Plus at least a couple of the adopted kids have moved out of the 'circle' and are successfully making their own way in life using their own skills.
  10. Well you qualify with ease in one aspect - the desperate daily need to be noticed.
  11. He actually knows very little bur good at writing bullshed and annoying / upsetting other members. I blocked him six months ago but somehow he's got past my block. I will do the block again.
  12. I've successfully used that portal to get visas to enter Vietnam several times. From memory 1 to 2 days all done. I've used a credit card issued in Thailand and a debit card issued for global use by an Australian bank. On arrival in Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi just join any passport line. All handled in a couple of minutes. Just enough time for my suitcase to be on the carousel, change money in the same area, always seems to be an OK ex. rate. Then taxi to hotel or where possible I always arrange for the hotel to pick me up, slightly more expensive than standard taxis.
  13. Your humour is sick, it's against the law for several reasons plus very disrespectful to the person sitting in the next seat and the surrounding seats. And there's more and more evidence published globally that vaping can cause lung cancer.
  14. I can't give you specific answers, the best I can offer is below and other members please share your knowledge / experience on this: - The Tabien Baan book given to you for the condo at the land titles office should now have your name inserted, but from my knowledge the Tabien Baan book should be yellow colour unless of course you hold lifetime Permanent Residence then your name should be in the dark blue coloured book. - After the dealings at the Land Titles office the entry into the Tabien Baan book could very probably be done at the local Amphur office. This is where any issues about what colour Tabien Baan book should be used for you could be resolved. Also when Thai folks move they go to the current Amphur office and explain 'we're moving to xxxx', and leave with a 'transfer document'. Then go to the Amphur office in the new location with the tabien baan book for the new house/condo/apartment etc., and get the tabien book updated. - From my understanding this would also be the right time to request a pink ID card. - I have PR (27 years), I live permanently with my Thai adult son, his Thai wife and 4 kids in Chiang Mai city. My name is in the family dark blue Tabien Baan book. - When I first heard of the pink card I was advised to go to the main Amphur office for Chiang Mai city, take every document ever issued and take my son in case extra translation was needed. - We went to the main Amphur office, very pleasant young staff keen to get the pink card issued, about 2 hrs later we left with my pink card in my pocket. Good luck.
  15. The pink card is not specific to the Social Security Office / Fund. What is relevant is that foreigners who have longer-term visas and lifetime PR holders are issued with a 'Thai' ID number. The construction of the iD number is the same as for Thai citizens but the ID number for the longer-term visa holders and lifetime PR holders starts with 8. In some cases this is the 'door' to gaining a yellow covered Tabien Baan book. The pink ID card and the yellow Tabien Baan book are requirements to getting approval for the continuation of social Security Injury and Sickness benefits after the foreigner has retired. This is available under Article 39 of the Social Security Act. Also known as voluntary insurance: -The foreigner retires -Within six months of receiving a payout of member contributions the foreigner can indicate he/she wishes to continue their Injury and Sickness benefits (known as SSF Article 39 benefits) and pays the monthly member contributions direct to the SSO. This is usually done by the SSO setting up an automatic process to take / withdraw 432Baht per month from a bank account indicated by the foreigner. As above the foreigner has 6 months to decide if they wish to go this route. Later then 6 months and the foreigner cannot continue their membership. At retirement the employer ceases to make contributions.
  16. Here's a snip: On the bottom line left side you can see 'Live Chat'. This is a typical on line chat box and very useful. You can select English, the chat box will ask you to give your telephone number and confirm the telephone number is valid in Thailand. Eventually (maybe several hours later) someone from SSO will call you and give you answers to your question(s). Always polite, always focused, clear answers. The call could be well into the evening to ensure they have responded the same day, but whatever.
  17. Does social media block porn or prevent members from finding / looking at porn on social media sites?
  18. Actually your ID number on your pink card is your SSO member number. My understanding is that the national ID for all Thais is automatically the Thai persons SSO member number and the SSO wants foreigners to use their pink ID card number so that Thai ID numbers is the standard numbering system for everybody.
  19. Good news. I retired, after many hassles and discussions I eventually got voluntary insurance (Section 39). Your ID number on your pik card is your SSO member number (same as with Thai folks). Can I suggest you call the SSO Hotline 1506, they have English speaking staff. If you press for English and nobody answers it means that there's no english speaking staff available at that moment. Try again in a few hours or the next day, you will eventually get an English speaker. I found the 1506 staff to be very knowledgeable, good listeners, they asked me to clarify a couple of times and I got clear focused answers. I guess the office which did help you has also set up an automatic monthly deduction from a bank account number you have provided. My monthly payment is withdrawn (by the SSO automatic system) on the 15th of every month. The standard deduction is 432 Baht. Other members have shared that occasionally the monthly deduction goes down a little but then returns to the standard 432Baht every month. I check that my monthly member payment has been actioned. a). By checking my bank account on line to see that a 432Baht deduction has taken place. b). Also there's an SSO site where you can check that the SSO has received your payment.
  20. You're in Thailand, not another country, you cannot apply laws from another country.
  21. Agree, she should have been held, deported and banned for life within hours of the hotel incident.
