True, but it displays how top heavy the force is. There's good proven theory about the % of 'supervisors' (using that word as a catch all term) compared to those they lead. such theories exist in terms of military forces, police forces and in business organizations but are all very similar %'s. For business organizations the theory is that one manager (supervisor) can effectively mange 6 subordinate reporting staff and at the same time manage that the 6 reporting staff are working together effectively. 1 to 6 is of course a theoretical number, established early last century but of course the numbers change according to industry / levels of effective business compettion / risk etc. If (as in LOS) the numbers of top level officers is way too big that means the total numbers they supervise quickly reduces and can even go down to a situation where 1 / some senior officers have no reporting staff. This also brings the argument that a senior officer in such scenario has no man/ woman (personnel) management duties at all, so why is he/she collecting the salary of that level? There are of course cases where companies have too many managerial staff and this happened with TG some years back. The gov't agency which supervised TG at that time asked "Why are there xxx managers (actual staff, not positions) on the organization staff who have no reporting staff?" Answer: to make them happy.

Thaksin Shinawatra's Medical Care Sparks Concerns
scorecard replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
"...He also emphasized that those casting doubts on Thaksin's medical condition should refrain from questioning the authenticity of his ailment, as the government is adhering to legal and ethical principles...." In other words the public are not allowed to have an opinion or ask questions. One minute away from a police state. -
Did you just go on the spur of the moment

He says he has no plan. You mentioned he's been to Thailand many times before so he does have some insight into places, types of accommodation, costs, food, available transport etc. Truth is he's probably, unconsciously, got some parameters already in his thinking. On the other hand if he's a person who just spends without any thinking then so be it, and yes he'll be broke fairly quickly, and it's doubtful you'll change his thinking and trpical behaviors. Bottom line, my guess i there's several thousand foreigners in Thailand, at any time who are the same. Up to them. Personally I had several short holidays / short work stints in LOS when I was stationed in Singapore. Then my company offered me a good long-term posting to Bangkok, never looked back. -

Also makes me wonder what criteria / mental assessments / behavioral balance tests etc., are used in the recruitment process. I'm well aware that candidate have to pass numerous such tests / assessments etc., to enter the teaching profession in Singapore. -
Why no mention of good cornish pasties, as on the menu at UN Irish Pub and not expensive, also in the freezers at Rimping. My school lunch every day of high school, good healthy food too.

-Virgin birth. -Returned from the dead after 3 days. -disciple parted the water on a big river. -Magic appearance of food. Recent reports: - Jesus never existed. - Many folks mentioned in the bible never existed. - And for the white supremitists researchers claim jesus was not white skinned. Not a believer, never will be, therefore no trust.

doubt with a girl ( police blacklist )
scorecard replied to tontong7's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I rather doubt the Thai police or attached agencies have a 'blacklist' (at a national level of a local level) except for foreigners convicted for overstay and not allowed back for a fixed period (1 yr, 3 yrs etc), foreigners convicted of serious criminal offenses, selling / distributing drugs etc. In such cases perhaps there are blacklists maintained by various courts for specific types of charges. Further, if there is such a 'blacklist' the cops would be unlikely to add names without some solid proof. Either ignore the girl or challenge her: tell her that you checked and there is no blacklist, and tell her she doesn't have and evidence that the police would accept and tell her this is the last message / no further discussion and you will now immediately delete her from all your contacts / friends lists etc. -
I suspect Makro and 7/11 (both controlled by CP) are not wanting this technology because it means they would have to pay bank fees etc., on every transaction. On the other hand CP has massive advanced resources and surprised they haven't developed a 'work around' so they don't lose out 'cause of commissions, fees etc.

Tap and go the 'norm' for 99% of transactions in OZ, all debit cards, already for many years.

"... the majority of Thai banks have not shut down their online facilities." Would have been more fruitful to mention that they are/have upgraded their apps so all transactions are possible / will be done on the app. Therefore the bank concerned is using / maitaining just one computer system which encompasses / supports everything. And massive reductions in operating costs. All of the above is happening in Australia, and some banks are saying that their aim is to: - Increase transactions on 1 app. - Conduct more transactions by telephone (and some banks have said they have already been conducting more detailed staff training so that whoever answers a phone call from a customer can handle / complete the transaction over the phone. (Here in LOS K Bank customers might have noticed the call centre staff are nowadays a lot more deeply knowledgeable and can handle the calls. On the other hand the other big bank call centre staff struggle to give detailed answers.) - Decrease the need for customers to go to a branch. (ultimately meaning less branches and big operating cost reductions). - Decrease the usage of ATM machines, and decrease the total number of ATM machines and therefore big operating cost reductions. Seems to me that the cost savings by moving to the scenario just above are enormous and all Thai banks will eventually move to the above set up. Some banks faster than others.

"...They are happy to give me the job role so I can be granted a working permit visa to stay out in Thailand. " It's not based on the opinion of the employer, there are specific Work Permit laws / regulations which must be complied with. You need to understanding that there is no such thing as "...working permit visa...". It involves 2 different / but linked items: a) WORKING IN THAILAND. Gaining a Work permit which of itself gives you permission to work in Thailand but does not give you permission to phsyically be in Thailand. b). PHYSICALLY BEING ON THAI SOIL. Using the work permit to apply for a specific type of Visa which on approval gives you permission to physically be ON THAI SOIL BUT HAS NO BEARING WHATEVER ON WORKING IN THAILAND.

Trump liable for fraud, judge finds in New York civil case

And sadly they proably will? I wonder if there's a law or whatever which can prohibit a named person from receiving donations? This case proves there should be.
