  1. Emirates for me too when travelling hand baggage only. They noticed in the lounge that my documents hadn't been checked so did it there. Others would have been tannoyed at the gate as you were.
  2. I didn't say I preferred it - I go with the option that suits me best at the time - I just pointed out that the statement it saves you time and money was inaccurate, especially so in the context of this thread.
  3. Even if true, what was the purpose of the subsequent 5 posts of unecessary, inaccurate drivel?
  4. This discussion is about flying with Bangkok Airways (from BKK to USM) and their extra luggage options. Your comments are irrelevant and a distraction from the topicc.
  5. Twice you've referred to your washing costs now and I've no idea why. What fare type on Bangkok Airways did you save money on by using carry on baggage only?
  6. Do whatever you want that you would otherwise do at another time, just don't stand there with your thumb up your bahookey for 20 minutes. Slow down, read the posts and don't snip the relevant bit you didn't read from your reply. The 900 baht is for the extra 10kg luggage.
  7. Presumably you booked one of these fare types, all of which include 20kgs. Your 10kgs (900 baht per person per flight I think) is in addition to the standard 20kgs so you'll be fine with 30kg. Not on Bangkok Airways by the looks of it, unless there is another cheaper fare class with no baggage allowance. Saving time would only happen if you have poor time management and waste the time waiting for your bags instead of doing something productive.
  8. Bumping a 7 year old post to repeat something you already posted? You'll be popular.
  9. Pic from Facebook. Are the suite prices per person or for the suite (2 people or 4 people if I understand the room arrangements correctly)? The SP Cruise website still has the wrong pricing.
  10. They're not much better starting at this end. I've been looking for a few weeks in the UK in November or early December but not finding anything like the "usual" prices in Economy or Business Class.
  11. Lite and Classic fares, which will likely be the first to be sold, do not offer seat selection unless you pay or hold FF premium status. As you don't know how many bookings haven't made a seat reservation you can't accurately guesstimate at the load. There are sites like Expertflyer who will tell you how many seats are available in each fare bucket eg Y9 H9 B9 K9 L9 all the way to W? and these allow you at best to make an educated guess.
  12. Post Office is on 13/2 so I guess you mean the already mentioned Damini Gold shop and money exchange?
  13. How do you tell that? Use a credit card with no foreign currency charges.
  14. Read page 3 of the thread for an update.
  15. I find it's more like the pub drunk, wandering from table to table giving his uninformed comments on whatever the subject matter being discussed is. The pub drunk is always an expert on all subjects in his own mind. He gets indulged until he goes too far then gets all indignant when he's contradicted so wanders off to annoy the next table.
  16. Extra for any sent. It costs nothing to receive them.
  17. Where did you ssee these prices. The First Class Cabin is showing a bit lower than I see on their website! Comfort Room is different too.
  18. Correction. I've now heard Chow Soy will still be a restaurant after renovation, run by a Scots guy.
  19. Going to be a new bar, as is Canterbury Tales just up the street.
  20. 3. Freeze it! For some reason security will allow frozen stuff through even if it becomes liquid before flying.
  21. Too many variables to give an accurate answer, but Pacific Cross prices are available on their website after answering a few questions and deciding on cover required.
  22. AA Insurance are brokers who have access to different suppliers. I'm with Pacific Cross through them at no additional cost to going direct.
  23. Train No. 10 departing 18:00 is the newest and best fitted out one. I've also used Train No. 14 which departs at 17:00 and found it acceptable, even though it's not as good as No. 10. I travelled in Second Class lower bunk but the same is supposedly true for First Class.
  24. The old Seahorse website seems dead and the new SPcruise one just occupied by an under maintenance placeholder. Where can we find out more details?
  25. Windows users might find an old version if IE already lurking somewhere which could be used.
