  1. You can book online too, despite the link you gave saying book at the bus station.
  2. I did exactly that on 4th June this year with my first two having been received in Scotland and the third in Thailand but registered with NHS Scotland. Airport check in looked at it and didn't blink. No-one on entry to Thailand looked at it but I had submitted it for the Thailand Pass which was needed then and it was granted without question. The phone app does display all 3.
  3. Guiness 200 baht/pint in Soi Khao Noi Sports Bar yesterday afternoon.
  4. It goes to Jomtien from Hua Hin and Suvarnabhumi.
  5. Images of the card online appear to show the Mastercard logo so their rate would be applicable unless you choose to pay in a non-local currency which would open you to DCC. From their website:
  6. The borderless account is now called the multi currency account. I've never set one up as although I use Wise for transfers I have other accounts which offer me as good or better options than the Wise card.
  7. Assuming you're in Economy Class, you're not flying enough to make a FF program worthwhile. Concentrate on airline quality, cost and timings - only you can decide what priority to give to each. If you're flying Business or First Class you'll get most (if not all) of the benefits a FF program elite member will get anyway, so not worth chasing the points and again choose your carrier by the measures above.
  8. Unless they're part of the structure to make you wind and water tight then I would not expect anything more than a year warranty, even if they're expected to last much longer.
  9. It's the country your google account uses that matters. Settings, General, Account and device preferences, Country and profiles (for me). If it's on your home country you won't get geo-locked to Thailand apps but if you want to change it to Thailand you won't be able to change it back for a year. ETA: You can of course create another Google account based in another country and switch between them as required.
  10. Don't pollute forums with nonsense when I'm older.
  11. It woulsn't make any difference to the security issue. Arrivals duty free purchases would still have to go through outgoing domestic security just as anything brought in from overseas would, and there's no duty free for departing domestic flights.
  12. I would have thought that a big risk as these bags and receipts coud have been generated in a non-secure location and packaged with anything, but if MajorTom says he's done it then so be it.
  13. The STEB bags he refers to can be taken as carry on after transit in many places, but these will have been purchased/sealed in a secure area and never left airside. As he is going landside at BKK I would expect (don't know 100% as never tried) security to knock them back. With security being at the gate for domestic departures I doubt that even airside transit passengers could do it at BKK, as security don't know where you've come from or if you've been landside while in transit.
  14. Use this company. I don't ever recall it being bookable by individuals. https://limousine.in.th/fast-track-immigration.php
  15. Even on the same itinerary he would still have to clear customs etc at BKK. KKC has no facilities for these. According to Bangkok Airways the only other airports in Thailand you can transit to are shown below. I don't recall Trat and Pattaya being on the list but that's what they say.
  16. Immigration couldn't care what duty free you bring in, but customs (if they're awake) might take an interest. The drinks will then have to go into your hold luggage for your seperate flight to HKT as BKK security won't let them past even in a STEB.
  17. Hanoi to Chiang Mai on Thai AirAsia FD871 resumes on Monday 1st August. Hanoi to Don Mueang currently has one per day and moves to two per day, also on Monday.
  18. Anything over 50,000 THB appears to go by the slower process, similar to when you select the funds are for long stay or house building.
  19. Email your request here and it may get fixed. An error in my passport number did. '[email protected]'
  20. Good answer. Although rising in the east and setting in the west is correct, there is also a tilting effect in the earth's rotation so that on June 21st the sun is over the Tropic of Cancer and on December 21st it's over the Tropic of Capricorn. Only exactly in the middle of these is it over the equator. With Thailand being south of the Tropic of Cancer there is always a north/south effect as well as the more noticeable east/west.
  21. Without the 1,932 baht error item, your bill would have been 2,985 - 1,932 = 1,053 baht, so you had other goods in your trolley worth over 1,000 baht and you ended up paying 782 baht for all those plus the potatoes. Most folk would praise Makro for fixing a problem and compensating you adequately but you come on moaning? Did this really happen? And why haven't all the self proclaimed mental arithmetic experts in the thread noticed this anomaly?
  22. And they (the airline) about turned just a day or two later. https://www.bbc.com/news/business-62182881
  23. Indeed, that's why I said "this year". Yes, no SERPS or S2P or anything else in this. It's the basic state pension figure and the full rate of the new state pension.
