  1. Maybe because as far as I can remember, whenever there is a case of this kind of terrible violence the farang involved brought it on themselves to some extent. Not saying it was justified, only that it was avoidable, and a result of poor judgement by the farang. Some people can find a beating wherever they go.
  2. The man said "My personal experience with Thailand - the safest country on Earth. " So obviously he wasn't talking about this unfortunate incident.
  3. I think all can agree on the beating being wrong. The question is was it avoidable?
  4. "Despite the fact that she took and passed the test, Meghan is still not a U.K. citizen because she did not live in the country long enough to obtain citizenship. (The required period is three years.) She ultimately abandoned plans for citizenship when she and Harry moved their family to the U.S. in 2020. Still, this proves that, despite being an American citizen, Meghan would have been eligible to be a British citizen as well." https://www.harpersbazaar.com/celebrity/latest/a46818132/can-royal-family-members-have-dual-citizenship/ So, in case you don't have someone there to explain this to you, Meghan Markel is an American citizen.
  5. "Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has directed the Pentagon to come up with plans to cut 8% from the defense budget in each of the next five years, according to sources familiar with his plans. The Defense Department expects to redirect those fund to other programs in the department that would be prioritized by President Trump. " https://www.cbsnews.com/news/hegseth-pentagon-8-percent-cuts-for-next-5-years/ I encourage you to take note of this: "The Defense Department expects to redirect those funds to other programs in the department" So not a reduction in the Defense Department budget. In any event, there is a big gap between what Hegseth says he wants and anything being done. Apparently Hegseth has been looking at programs in the HR department but weapons R&D is probably the place for big ticket wasteful items. Evidence of business as usual: plans for development of a new manned fighter at a cost (estimate) of $100 to $300 million per plane Seems to be extravagant, especially looking at the mixed evaluations of the pricy F35. Musk (another stable genius) has stated that manned aircraft are obsolete with the rise of drones so why is another pricy manned aircraft being developed? In the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing department, apparently alienated (former) allies are rethinking aircraft purchase from the US so that will make it harder to finance this.
  6. I got the email reminder but it came in the middle of the interval for filing and my online application was refused. I am told that online filing of 90 day is more likely to be successful if done early. I don't know if that is true or not.
  7. The thing is that Musk and Trump seem to be afraid of the big spenders, the biggest item in the discretionary budget, the military. Handling them with kid gloves I see. Afraid to poke the bear? Remember the audits that found $640 toilet seats and other extravagant payments? Who was the leftist hippie that warned us about the military industrial complex in 1960? Oh, now I remember it was Dwight Eisenhower.
  8. Right, that's what the rules say right? But Trump and Musk don't necessarily follow the rules. Witness Musk as the unelected, unvetted, holder of multiple conflicts of interest, who bought and paid for his position.
  9. The kind of person that doesn't trust Trump or Musk. A realistic person.
  10. He wears clown makeup, complete with the makeup gap at the hairline that clowns have. Not the same as being a person of color. Legitimate target for mockery.
  11. Seems like the Defense and Homeland Security departments are getting a pass. New manned fighter gonna be developed? T But defense is nearly half of the discretionary budget. Why are they timid about these departments? Bill Maher discusses:
  12. 1 COVID coverup; terrible conduct.
  13. You are making it up at least in part. You say she brought your pint and "literally threw it at me". So that didn't happen and it raises the question of how much of your story is similarly exaggerated. Are you easily offended ? Do you misinterpret the motives, attitudes and feelings of other? You seem to have many subjectively bad experiences, more than one would expect by chance. Glad to hear the chili cheese dog place was nice though.
  14. Yes. Worried.
  15. No way. Revelatory. That actually never occurred to us Mr. Lebowski. Thing is, this case has lot of ins, lots of outs, lots of threads in the old Duder's head. But golly gosh you just might be on to something.
  16. Coffee is all about compromises for me. I have settled on a Dulce Gusto machine for my bleary eyed, why did I get a job?, mornings. Convenient and as fast as instant. Easy, minimal cleaning. Uses cartridges so will mess up your relationship with Greta Thunberg. Best compromise I have found. I find the Cafe au Lait to be nice. Cue the insults about "real coffee" but I am happy with it.
  17. Agree. Also many who lack self-awareness, the "self-unaware???" LOL. Others who are desperate for connection and post "we" statements referring to the "brotherhood" of AN members. Maybe the saddest of all.
  18. But they gotta walk 1000 miles across Mexico to get to the border. Not an easy journey.
  19. I believe the name has been changed by Trump to Tesler.
  20. And he desecrated a Yankees hat by wearing it during criminal activity. A-hole.
