    I wonder if you misunderstood your friend. Don't see how the cost of joining a gym could save money on the water bill. Maybe he was making a joke. I am frugal and retired. I don't understand people that prefer to keep working to maintain spending money foolishly.

    The 45 day went away at the end of March and is now back to 30 days.

    Laos did not check for being vaccinated when I went in February. If you do a border run to Laos or Cambodia and re-enter Thailand you will get a 30-day visa exemption which can be extended an additional 30 days. In both countries you can apply for a 60 day tourist visa and then extended it an additional 30 days. If you plan to apply for a tourist visa in Vientiane you will need to make an appointment.

    I think it is interesting that immigration will be open on the 19th. Getting in and out of the office with dry paper work might be a challenge.     Don't recall anyone talking about The Old Way on this thread. I watched it last night and think the rating on imdb of 5.4 is about right. I like watching westerns so watched this even with the low rating. If you like Nicolas Cage or westerns it may be worth your time but if you are looking for a great movie than give this a pass.

    Can't stop using hotmail since it is my recovery email for my google account.

    Hotmail split the inbox into 2 different inboxes. One is called Focused and one called Other. Is it possible the emails are moving to the Other section. Do you have anything in the Junk folder?

    It is my understanding to open a new bank account you need to have a certificate of residence. That is just another thing that requires a day at immigration. They need to open another office. If Phuket can have 3 offices why can't Chonburi.

    @tgw may I ask how do you do your banking? I feel my phone is safer than my laptop and I have to do banking online. Do you have any advice to protect yourself with online banking other than what was in the link?

    Just finished watching Tetris and thought it was a good watch. Just out today and on the torrent sites. I believe it is based on a true story. It has a 7.2 on imdb.
