  1. The 90 day start period resets to last day of entry - so late August.
  2. That is more than a little simplistic - drugs are indeed a major issue but so is all kinds of mental illness (which USA is not providing proper treatment anymore). And just bad luck. It is becoming cost prohibitive for many to own home/land in an area they can work. Todays report that to feel comfortable an income of $233,000 is required says a lot. https://www.cnbc.com/2023/07/24/americans-have-big-number-goals-for-salary-retirement.html
  3. Perhaps because many of us are a lot older and preparing for passage - having funds in joint account makes that process much easier for serving spouse to take care of final arrangements and live for the months that are often required for court release of single name accounts. Fixed interest is not much these days and immigration can be picky using such (in all cases must be cash account with immediate access).
  4. You are wrong. Although double 800k in joint foreign owned account might be accepted for two retirement extension of stays. This is about one retirement and joint property laws of Thailand assuming only half of a joint account is yours. So single name 800k but in past joint account with wife has been accepted at 1,600k.
  5. As said twice the amount has often been accepted by immigration for extensions of stay using a joint account with spouse (account ownership is 50%).
  6. Believe you can obtain a 60 day extension to visit Thai wife if you may be able to get 400k into your account for marriage extension. Multi entry non O visas are still available from Savannakhet Royal Thai Consulate and only require exit every 90 days until you can obtain 400k marriage extension. You should have note from wife asking that such a visa be issued along with marriage proof.
  7. Unless you are using bucket/cup for shower suspect most people will want higher pressure than the lower wattage units can provide. If works for you that is fine - but low wattage units do not provide anywhere near the city water pressure of most US/Oz/EU places. And if another tap running pressure goes down quickly, which not nice with point of use heaters.
  8. Perhaps you misunderstand certified copies - copies of pages that you sign - this has always been a requirement.
  9. Someone recently mentioned having taken such reports to bank for official stamps so probably not accepted as email copy only.
  10. In Bangkok they are indeed stored and available for review within minutes. This year had them get mine from previous year to prove extension method was not bank deposit but income (had enough in bank at extension time previous year and again this year but took down for brief period 2 months into extension so officer believed I was in violation of 3 month rule). The entire packet of paper was obtained within minutes. Know for a fact that when they were located at Suan Phlu they had all files stacked against walls for those due extension within 45 days for quick access. And they were pulled for every extension application (before computers in use).
  11. Yes. You also need updated passbook and bank letter of account ownership/balance. They will likely have date requirements.
  12. Passbooks are notorious for having missing entries and the new retirement extension of stay requirements need confirmation that balance has been maintained for the full year. Best confirmation is bank statements. As for Bangkok Bank issue you can obtain locally every six months or you can order a week or two before next extension of stay. There is no requirement for it to be same day as may be the case with bank letter or updated passbook entry.
  13. If it is listed as an option for payment when doing transfer - just follow the instructions to pay Wise - Wise then makes the payment to recipient.
  14. Yes indeed - also one of my favorite's back in the mid 50's when all the normal candy was 5 cents - it was bigger than most as a lot of air in it - but tasted great. Did not do that much sharing however.
  15. Yes they are - those are the notation entries made when you transfer current extension of stay from old to new passport. Unless you have not done your transfer yet. In that case both will be required and two processes done.
  16. It might be the newly built (and joints not properly made) so getting leaks? That would be a construction issue if any recourse but as people have said most pumps are adjustment for pressure and pump person could do that. If taps splashing too much perhaps change to those that have filters. Hard to know what the issue is because pump pressure is not normally that high.
  17. I can not believe - perhaps some tap is too strong (bum gun) but can not believe any 300w water pump is even providing close to normal city water pressure in western countries. If a tap just partly closing can solve the issue.
  18. I suspect he is born Thai but in any case he would have to have visa/extension of stay using foreign passport (easy enough to obtain but not what most would want to do).
  19. True - actually they were first made in 1941 and military bought all (any chocolate was a rationed item during the war years) - they were made to avoid melting in hot weather so served military well.
  20. What does not being old have to do with anything? And why the extra large font for us old folks? Probably not wanted but believe best advise is to ignore social media - it is a minefield. Your life is your life.
  21. As I recall, back in the 50's, 1/4 pound Peter Paul Mounds/Almond Joy bars were expensive at about 12 cents but what some of us got when had the money.
  22. There is no such requirement for exit as many countries do not even have such a rule and for return to Thailand there is no validity requirement at all (expired passport allows entry).
  23. USA vs Europe - US chocolate is mostly sugar and melts at lower temps. That's why we invented M&M with hard coating for the summer months.
