Covid Vaccines no longer free to non-Thais
lopburi3 replied to digbeth's topic in Health and Medicine
A flu/covid shot is far different than an IV. Blood test would be similar to IV. -
On forehead it may have been treated by plastic surgeon for cosmetic reasons and that will increase the price many times over. My skin cancer removals by such surgeons average about 25k.

Russian Man Wreaks Havoc at 7-11 in Pattaya’s Walking Street
lopburi3 replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
As was mentioned - you have to read the linked account for vital information - such as he is in police custody and not providing any ID - but is speaking Russian.- 151 replies

Actually it was not that much of a process in Bangkok - any two people in/around office could be used for witnesses signature and translator was any Thai that could speak enough English to let you know what you were signing (family member was fine).

As said there are local mattress makers that can make any size. It used to be Thailand bed size was based on Asian body size so normal mattress was smaller. You might check this link. Nothing to do with being American or proper English, other than US size is now standard, thanks to hotel needs.

Perhaps because there will be no chance of a return fare without a real risk to his vehicle or life by the local taxi mafia?

Actually once you flag your BBL accounts to use BBL payment channel all transactions seem to be 1400 local time and marked as international (my experience last several months - previously this was not the case). Apples and oranges. Wise is a very large money transfer service that works well for almost all its customers with no pot of gold attraction for failure.

Follow up Appointment with Doctor how much?
lopburi3 replied to Huayrat's topic in Health and Medicine
I expect it will cost about the same as a normal visit - however not all doctors/hospitals charge on a follow-up - the last two I have had (one week/remove stitches) and few months later to check for any cancer return by plastic surgeon at major Bangkok located hospital were totally free of charge. -
Any decent wall of that age will most likely be solid red brick covered with cement and will have no issue holding heavy load with normal plastic wall plugs using screws to fit. You can test out by drilling a hole - should be solid if normal construction of that time. If you need more strength stronger metal threaded as used for large TV sets can be used - but for most things that is total overkill.

Retirement Visa Query
lopburi3 replied to Thaifly88's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Obviously many of us with Thai family have never had a lease agreement, or those owning condos and such, so do not believe it is required if you can show other proof of residence. Suspect it is more of a 'first ask' document. -
Retirement Visa Query
lopburi3 replied to Thaifly88's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Extensions office is specific to location - so it is a method to verify your location and right to use that immigration office. -
But pretty they are not (not normally used in a bathroom). But agree they do the job. Suspect if you fill the pipe cover with silicone (or even waterproof white cement) before placing on wall the water would be blocked from return to room.

Retirement Visa Query
lopburi3 replied to Thaifly88's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Bangkok has not asked for anything other than map to residence and recently TM30 receipt and have been on extensions for about 20 years. -
Make sure it is the English style Ayam - I found that quite good and a very reasonable price. But not being English can't rate myself an authority.

Medical drugs require special permit to import and suspect these medical items might face the same depending on how listed on manifest. Much safer to use Lazada or Shopee for any such items I suspect.

On 14th floor they must be house guests. But agree if only a couple the electric hand killer is in order. For our ground level mooban house it has worked wonders reducing the numbers - but those that look almost the same are not the same - there was a seller using same name but appeared to be a clone at slightly lower price several years ago.

Receiving money with Wise
lopburi3 replied to STD Warehouse's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
Is the person asking the same nationality by chance? If you have a Wise account open they could just use local bank transfer - as Wise will be an actual account number. -
We catch mosquitoes, and just about only mosquitoes (even when using outdoors). Very much different than other such traps.

Reduce the population seems to have worked well for us - Portati traps work very good and within a few weeks almost none remain - keep using traps but now instead of needing empty in day or two takes weeks and virtually no bites. They more expensive than other versions but actually work and safe to use - LED types do not even work - cheap plastic air flow types can be a fire danger (been there - total unit ablaze from overheated fan). https://www.lazada.co.th/products/portoti-pr-25mb-mosquito-pest-killer-i174536187-s358395528.html?

Sorry when you brought up the LTR and condo read it as that was what you were extending rather than future plans. So perhaps they wanted updated proof if TM-30 from awhile ago. Rental contract seems to be fairly normal ask and copy of Blue Book would prove contract signer OK. But often exact details are not on any list and why we try to carry everything but the kitchen sink when doing extensions.
