  1. If you need a news article for the tourist police helping a foreigner, you know things are bad lol.
  2. I had the similar experience as her, even I had insurance, they constantly were demanding cash or card payments, while I was half K.O. in emergency room. Just garbage experience to be honest, better to have large stack of cash on a Thai bank ready for these situations, hard to do as a tourist.
  3. Even after the husband saved the 'captain' his own child, he still lied about how it happened...
  4. Wht is this nonsense article about? It is very well-known why Schengen has such strict visa rules, because Thailand is still a poor and developing country too, the place would be flooded by hundred thousands of SE asians working illegally. Not to mention my Thai wife can get a 5 year visa + eventually passport, within a decade, no issue at all. Thailand is only a all day sunshine life if you have some western money.
  5. Most people automatically think girls are hi-so already if they look half chinese, dress well and have a normal office job. Says nothing at all, but yeah, those girls can be good enough to help you out with going to a bank etc too.
  6. I did similar buying land with mortgage and wife, as it also will be for my son, however I have a 30 year lease on half the land in case we split, and build my own bungalow there. She will need for 2 decades paying it off anyway, my son will then be 24.
  7. Plenty of people get a discount on their car or land paying it in cash, or buy hand bags worth that money in Siam malls. Not that unusual.
  8. I suppose they transfer it to some dodgy Windows computer after their shifts, and that hard drive would be damaged (on purpose).
  9. Yeah usually in the south they work wherever and for anyone, and they do have some sort of a visa thing setup. But then again many are here also illegal, I guess that is something your wife could easily find out. I do not think it is a big issue, and yes, hard to find any Thai down south. Sometime it is not about having a company or papers, or even money, but just about knowing the right people or being a original local there, to be able to do XYZ too.
  10. Wasn't there another French guy doing the same in Pattaya, but much younger than this one, too?
  11. That was their mistake, spending it on Russian gogo girls rather than the Thais.
  12. Which usually includes some personal accident insurance too.
  13. Classic mirrors are not look cool + for getting trough traffic between cars. Usually however they install new ones that are under the handles. If in Burriram, well, places like that they usually not have much brain and just do whatever.
  14. Yes of course, it is a small world, but most actually happened and happens on Phangan, not Tao.
  15. LOL second time I catch you with a weird comment. It is in fact the well-known Thais who only like corruption when it benefits them.
  16. Zoom video call, send invitation link to them, done. To be wise, also make a normal video recording, in case any connection issue (from your end or individuals watching), they can still see it back too. Facebook live might be more useful in that case actually, as you can play it back after. But if you want to keep it simple Zoom can be downloaded in seconds by android/iphone.
  17. Guess they could arrest like 300-500 people just on a few islands down south here, if they wanted too....
  18. You rather have pylons in the middle of the way or a ghost driving 10 wheeler truck facing you? Choices man, TIT. Can't believe some people are so bored and ignorant, to even start topics about this. You want confirmation for your rant? Because nothing is gonna change anyway.
  19. Oh please, 24 deaths on all the tourists that come there for all those years. There are more dangerous places in Thailand. The amount of deaths is actually a joke if you compare it to let's say Phangan, like described in my comment above. But yeah, neither of those islands, are good to be long-term, if you ask me. It is not even the real Thailand nor does it feel like that.
  20. It is funny how people and the world are obsessed with ko tao while in fact it is phangan, where almost weekly 1-2 foreigners die. If you take that times X years, or even a few decades, and compare it to the deaths on tao, well wow. These deaths are often: suspicious suicides, found death in the bed (monthly 1+), murders just not reported, 'accidents' etc. Not to mention the crazy tantra people with decades of unpunished mental and sexual abuse of people, or russians biting of fingers. And yes, a stable person could become mind <deleted> entirely by certain of these spiritual groups, and in fact do commit suicide too.
  21. Obviously they would need a work permit officially, or they work illegal for you. Or you pay the right people. No company = no official employees either.
  22. His body is missing you mean, it was a suicide, I know someone who sat behind them, he just stood up and jumped. One must live in disneyland to think he is still alive. Anyway, this stuff happens basically weekly on the island.
  23. Playing with fire if you are on a dodgy ED visa like this in the first place, she could cause you to have a lot of issues with future ED applications too. They could say you just never attended, never paid etc etc.
  24. The punishment should be that he eats rotten fish head with old rice for the next 3 years during the job.
  25. What does this have to do with anything at all? If a price is 400 baht per hour, and you charge 5000, that is a scam, not capitalism. Go back to school before you say things. Those who work there, the 400 is similar than 100 us dollars is for a minimum wage worker abroad. Charging 5K for a trip would equal like 1000-1500 dollars abroad for the same.
