I personally picked Asia at the time just because tickets saved me that 300 euro more (aside of fear testing positive and then being locked up or having even more costs and no holiday left, doubt this attracts backpackers or fearful elderly couples that never went here before - let alone families).

I had big bills that I can't explain lately and today my empty neighbor house bill came which usually is 40-50B for his watering devices of plants and this month 80B... He hasn't been here so that makes it very weird. What I did figure out is that prices did jump regardless since end 2019 I believe, but that should not suddenly have impact today. In theory that means anyone could use any QR without them knowing.

No they don't, they do try to attract skilled people at low costs or rich migrants, but those are not tourists remember.

VN is cheap compared to TH, if you really wanted a long term solution. It is just that the visa category does not match, the solutions are there and you could even own a little place then too or just do nothing and have the visa sorted regardless as a Business or partner. So just as relevant option unless you only want to be politically correct. Then again, TH is not gonna fix up until it is too late, VN is more likely to also introduce new visa categories and long stay visa sooner.

To be honest, I am quite surprised there are many left who clearly do not even make enough to break-even, that didn't close up yet. My best guess is that they somehow been able to take out additional loans but even with that, I can't see them being around a year from now. I heard of many cases where the foreigner left and the Thai family returned to their home towns or villages, living pretty much of poverty. Makes sense I guess, i do not see that many foreigners around in general, even in Bangkok.

By the time TH would come to senses Bali and Vietnam already stole the show. I mean, they basically already did before covid anyway, it was just the loads of Chinese who still made it seem busy as the good old years. Have to say, I was going frequently to VN too since I discovered the nice vibes there, who were similar to the old good days in TH. To get lots of beers and food for a few dollars is hard to beat. Well could be tailored insurance with proper premiums. I mean the average bike is quite cheap to fix up, body plates for a 125CC start from 350B. The latter is a huge money maker for rental shops I learned now. I did most body plates, a mirror, new seat and more for like under 5-6K and at the Yamaha dealer.

I really think that is so extremely pointless and ugly at the same time, it's so easy to break in 95% of all doors in TH if they really wanted. A proper and visible security / CCTV system would do more if you ask me. I would design a separate enclosed room in the house build for this system too, you can also do all your electric, solar stuff etc. in there and make it a safe room right away.

Might as well do it yourself, you will know as much after 5 youtube videos as a local does.
