  1. So easy to just send by post, Thailand post would even likely be there the next day if you came in relatively early on the day. If you wanna complicate things and use Kerry instead that is possible too, but not from the airport itself as far I know (and takes 1-2 days longer to arrive often too). Also it is even cheaper most times than paying additional on flights.
  2. What he really says is: I actually had to do a real job during covid, so I hope to close Wat Po and do 1000 baht grand palace tours again and get drunk at night at the thonburi side KTV's and brothels.
  3. What nonsense are you even talking about, the gains that were made on property in Thailand were just as much, the boom just took place before it even started in the west. Just as you could now decide not to sell, to then get in the biggest financial crisis yet, having no chance and seeing 400K value go up in smoke. I never been into property at all but if I did have bought the condo's back in 2012-2013 alone, I could have sold for double the price 3-4 years later, while being a noob in it, in Thailand. Doesn't really matter where you are. Gold has also done like 10% yearly average for over a decade already, stock markets even more. Anyway, I would sell it if I were you and convert it all into gold and rent in Thailand while sipping coconuts.
  4. So he simply fled Thailand, then not gets prosecuted, case closes and he returns. TiT.
  5. Well I can understand some replies on here as well the OP for certain things but what is stuck in my personal mind is mainly the long long term (as I did not even start with age 30s yet). I guess it would be fine to stay here as long there is a possibility to earn money. For how things still are right now we would have more security back home in Europe, better school, healthcare etc. but it is going down there just as hard too so I doubt anything of that would be left by the time I actually might need it. Still a way higher quality of life with relatively little money here. I'm just really done with working behind a monitor all the time, issue with that is that most local jobs are forbidden for farangs and I can't be a teacher. I think this last thing bothers me most, the working restrictions or having to depend entirely on Thais without ambition or any desire to improve / follow instructions consistently. I might give Vietnam a chance in the near future with the family if things continue here for years more tho. They really wanna develop there and you can do much more as a business owner in your own business too. That aside, I think most tourists already moved to Vietnam. It was busy as the peak days here in 2013/2014 whenever I went to Ho Chi Minh or Hanoi. Good old vibes, cheap drinks and food. More old buildings combined with green etc.
  6. Im talking about what is legally allowed, assuming the tourist fearing 10k bribes as are usual. I been at 3 raids for illegal drinks myself, I can educate you on that but as said, talking about legal ways. Tourists want hassle free, not a holiday with 10k alcohol fines and 100k quarantaine costs being asymptomatic.
  7. Recalling tourists and myself as a tourist in Thailand: Wake up for breakfast and go out for the day tour or activities planned to return late afternoon. Get a refreshment and then go to the rooms to have a shower and nap, chill around for a bit. Around 6-7pm start walking around to maybe get a nice dinner around 8:30pm, tot then be refused another wine by the time the main course is served. If having had dinner lucky; to then be refused any drinks strolling the night markets as well seeing no open bars with fun entertainment on the eyes.
  8. 42.6 million Thais have received their first shot according to my Thai vaccin app.
  9. The abuse of truths whilst spinning the words and measures needed to take is incredible. Similar to governments using the word 'scientific' for so many things that are not. But the worst of them all are people who then claim all that is actual science and absolute truth. For example: the best available medical masks contribute to XYZ. Reality: people wearing dirty hand made useless masks for days in a row and claim the full benefits of the high grade medical masks and hide behind the word 'science'. That is even the most innocent example of what is going on.
  10. Have to add, most of those backpackers and visa runners would not even be able to afford the 100-150K hospital bills in cash, if the insurance didn't pay out right away or something would happen with a positive test result and asymptomatic. If they did, they most likely didn't run for their visa.
  11. Well as soon the borders regionally open to each other they would be back soon enough, as long they can afford insurance and the like. However I doubt they actually have to 'run for a visa' after all this (both less strict enforcement as well easier visa options in the region incoming). Most people in general however told me they rather wait to see another 6 months what happens in the world before taking the risk of holidays far away. Mainly as they could end up in another lockdown, may that be here or in Vietnam etc whilst they barely have money on a monthly basis.
  12. So true, seen many guys lighten up right after they divorced and rediscovering Thailand as a paradise.
  13. I would have told my wife that every spray on or towards me cuts the monthly budget by 5k, it would end soon. Why so many guys here let their wives be superior to them or even boss them around, amazes me. I am making the rules, or nobody does. Know guys with 80 employees and yet they are home by 9pm because the wife says so, pathetic.
  14. Your actual contract is 6 months and you are told to leave once that expires right, so whatever you discussed informally to extend later isn’t relevant. I had the same in past as the landlord thought Thailand would reopen already, she learnt the hard way as property sits empty since.
  15. Improvement, because banks gave many delayed repayment options that will end soon and some other scam tricks I guess.
  16. 3700 police to take care of the airports, holy <deleted>, like how many do they need really.
  17. As it is so quiet and after opening, generally cheap for hotel rooms and all that, I think people will opt more for the islands down south. Other places are ghost towns generally speaking.
  18. The streets never wake up with all the other businesses and activities that co-exist, everything will stay boring everywhere. Aside of that this restaurant drinking style will have longer effects as soon bars and pubs do reopen. They really kind of ask for bad reports, vlogs and news over time by doing this as well as soon the first drop in that did gamble on a nice holiday.
  19. Water parks with open air, chlorine water and natural distancing remains closed. Sigh.
  20. It is part of the agreement, if the tenant choses to leave the contract before the end date, the land owner keeps the deposit.
  21. You could easily do so by renting via airbnb. If prices are very low you could also just accept taking a loss on the deposit when leaving after 6 months already, it would still be relatively cheap regardless if just 5-8K a month.
  22. Soi 7 is open since a good 2 weeks already, guess you make a lot clueless comments. FDA approval have nothing to do with emergency use only in most countries either. WHO states emergency use only too. Mutations are no threat to vaccinated people if the vaccin works in the first place. Up to 20% difference would be covered and covid mutations are 0.3%
  23. Grocery costs are the least of worries here, I don’t even notice. Enough ways to save on it too if necessary. Bulk shopping + partly online is the magic here too. I save up to 50% on baby milk, diapers, soap, toiletries, cleaning stuff, toilet paper etc etc.
