  1. Sounds like a waste of lithium resources to me.
  2. To add: I am unaware how it will run in the near future, would not be surprised if both the 30 days on arrival is 45, but also the extensions going to be 45 days. That would make 1 entry with extension 90 days total already.
  3. Get a tourist visa to get the 60 days on arrival but do not get the extension, instead plan a trip upfront to one of the nearby countries as an bonus holiday. The extension fee alone would cover 60% of the round way fares if you book it a bit early. Examples could be a weekend to Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh, Kuala Lumpur, Phnom Penh etc. When you return you get 30-45 days again (same as 1900 baht extension would get you without leaving). If you do not mind spending half a day for an extension or to even make 1-2 of those trips during the 3 months of holiday, you could come here without any visa at all. You would arrive and get 45 days, be able to either fly or do 2 border runs again, as well be able to make a extension locally after each international entry. I could imagine obtaining the visa alone would waste a lot of time and money in the UK too, after all it is only 15 days more compared with the new 45 days on arrival stamp.
  4. He should not have ended up here with zero money in the first place, in that case he can try illegal jobs down south or call in for friends or family. If he didn't burn all his bridges that can't be too difficult, as well he could work almost instantly in Australia. Many jobs are even cash in hand daily or otherwise weekly. For about 20K baht he can be there, 15K if he waits 1 week which justifies a dorm and food in TH to also work 18 hours per day finding a job right after landing. Anyway, you would hope one knows he either needs to buy a ticket or know certain new money is coming in, if being on the stage of 30-50K baht left. And that is a tight reserve already.
  5. When I was young, and I am still young, this was called a big rain storm, it always turns the sky dark. To add it is actually the season for it to be happening too lol.
  6. There is a good shop in the old city where you can buy it that existed for decades. But if you don't mind to buy a Yamaha bike instead I would recommend this shop, as across the street from that one they also have a very affordable maintenance and repair center where you can get anything done + A/C waiting room with coffee etc, speak english too. https://g.page/cnxyamaha?share The Honda shop is just 100 meters from there too btw so would recommend to check both.
  7. No you should be fine to enter Australia once you got the visa, rarely heard they actually wanna check your live bank balance again upon entering. And if you wanna do any job, I am pretty sure you could secure a place upfront online on the Oz job sites. Otherwise your best chance is doing any type of work online but its gonna be peanuts at first while you are then waste your existing visa duration on the WHV australia one. If any place you have a small chance to get a free bungalow and illegal temporary job it would be on some of the islands down south.
  8. Why can't they just prepare the files on a AWS cloud instance or as a image, then you can just write it on a disk. Would be crazy to send hard drives with existing data over to other countries if you ask me.
  9. Should countries that largely depend on tourism as well new technology, for future economy, know basic English? Yes they do. Should expats learn basic Thai? Yes as it helps a lot but the priority for Thais to know at least basic English should be higher on the list.
  10. As far I know you can use the existing work permit as he also owns the second company. Similar to something that you would be allowed to help in a wife's business if your work permit was being a teacher or something.
  11. Go back home or abroad to save up money first, without money you will just mess up more. Not sure how old you are but Australia offers Working Holiday visa up to 30 years old for just like 10-15K baht visa.
  12. Maybe you should watch 'Hurts like hell' on netflix before deciding what type of camp you looking for.
  13. Time travelling news that is 2 decades too late.
  14. Grab for motorbike is very affordable and easier as no need to explain the destination. Bolt for cars at almost any place, is half the price of the same ride for Grab, on most times of the day. Bolt pricing seems similar to what a metered taxi would be. Bolt can take a long time to get as well (depending where you are). I now usually take MRT and metered taxi in BKK or else a grab motorbike.
  15. Kind of stupid to rob a casino for that little, a gold shop would have made it worth while.
  16. All 3 are true if you ask me, so let's use the 5K fine money to let those dogs get a final injection too. Nobody is taking them in anyway, else they would not be roaming around the big c, 7/11 and more. Anyone objects? Fine, then you take it in too.
  17. Grammarly is a great tool for this
  18. It's just herd behaviour if you ask me. If you see islands where there is many farangs, who not wear masks, you also notice that many of the Thais are no longer wearing them. Yet those, gov employees for examples, do all wear them, on the islands (as all their coworkers do so as well). I think a big part has to do with potentially risking to lose face too, always avoid confrontations etc etc. BKK everyone wears them, its crazy. No different than with fashion, with most of the girls all wearing the same type of jeans, that look awful and the white sneakers, preferable Fila's.
  19. What I think? Germans are known to be like that. Other than that and starting about nazi's and stuff? I think one has a pathetic life if this is what keeps one busy at the job, where you are supposed to be busy with the actual job.
  20. Let me guess, the interest on the remaining debt is expected to rise and will end up costing the student 10+K more. A cigar from my own box to gain popularity, that is non existing, for the next election round.
  21. If you wanna make a contract like this, in Thailand, let alone enforce it later on (a lot of time and costs), the 5-10K a lawyer would charge you would be well worth it. Else you might as well make a pinky promise and still have general existing laws. You would make mistakes in a free fabricated contract, you rely on, to then find out those mistakes make you lose, when you need it.
  22. Thai law is decent. The problem is that the police and other governing servants are not doing their job.
  23. The smile can be fake, what the reality is, is that there are various smiles with different meanings. So if your question is if many of the smiles, are not the same genuine smile as we know it in the west, that is true indeed.
  24. I would suggest walking into a gym with very arrogant weight lifters, then call them out for being pussies and having fake muscles, and that you challenge them to prove it carrying your stuff up with the first price being 5K baht.
  25. Is this a serious question? Where do you think they pay subsidies with? Thin air? Or is your smart answer that the poor barely pay taxes, yeah they might, but instead they will then suffer even for more generations as no taxes are left for good purposes. Those who do pay them, will be annoyed even more, and eventually try to avoid paying taxes, or move to other countries, as also happens in the west. Companies usually increase prices even more if there are subsidies, too, specially on the long run. It is never a good solution.
