  1. Maybe easier, but the fees my bank charge for cash withdrawals is astronomical and their exchange rate is pitiful. Don't suggest getting a Wise card as I am in Thailand and Wise will not deliver here.
  2. Nothing to do with the bank, the requirements to submit income data for tax purposes is wholly with the Thai Revenue Department. This is why some people are suggesting that annual extensions from Immigration will become dependent in the future on having a completed tax certificate from the Revenue Department.
  3. Unless they were transferred in during the financial year they were earned, e.g. pensions deposited direct into a Thai Bank by a UK pension provider.
  4. Fat lot of use to Expats then, we will send money out of UK provided you live in the UK, no better than a High Street bank who are de-banking people for many different reasons.
  5. With the current moves to register and possibly tax Expats from Tax Year 2024, how far back can the Thai Revenue Department investigate your income stream, 5 years, 10 years, or only 2023 (the year being assessed right now). I submitted tax returns on my Thai income only in 2008-2010, after ceasing work the RD ceased sending me annual forms to complete and submit. If I re-register (old no is dead as only 10 digits, now are 13 digit numbers), will they suddenly want to assess all the years between, resulting in what may be a significant tax bill and fines.
  6. With Lao Khow (however you spell it) or See Sip which is another name for it, you don't need much money 40 Baht tends to be enough for most Thais in my area
  7. As far as I'm aware Bangkok Bank only pay attention if the "Funds for long stay" is selected, the transfer is delayed until, I believe, manually marked as FTT. Any other category will probably not be marked as FTT. I am not aware of Bangkok Bank having any interest in the category attributed to the transfer, I've used in the past a number of other categories and not an eyebrow has been raised. As I said I believe this is an available option within Wise for you to collate and analyze your expenditures.
  8. I would reckon that it is Wise only, to allow you to summarize/analyze your expenditure by category, wouldn't think it's of any interest to Bangkok Bank, the Funds for Long Term Stay is to try to ensure that it is marked FTT (Foreign Transfer) in your passbook.
  9. I spent a number of years working in a High School (11 to 18 year olds), and 80% of the Thai English speakers teachers could not speak a sentence, they were wizard at written grammar though and believed that English Conversation was a totally different subject to written English. One of the students said to me one day "I'm going to spend 40 years working in the fields, why do I need to study English"
  10. Somebody that has an inflated idea of themselves, or maybe overstayed and waiting for Immigration to find him so that a "valuable" fine can be paid.
  11. I haven't transferred any funds as yet, but given that we are only at the start of the financial year and no real decisions have been released on how it will impact us (if at all) I wouldn't expect anything different to normal. The assessment of income for 2024 tax will not take place until 2025, therefore it would IMHO be impractical for any deductions to be made prior. For example one of my Thai accounts pays interest monthly and tax wasn't deducted until December.
  12. The bankers have got to justify their existence, and the need to grow their industry, as well as the amount of fees they charge us to allow them to use our money, which we have entrusted to their safe keeping. Then when you ask for some back it's "Why do you want to withdraw our money".
  13. like password protecting your password, and then storing it on the cloud
  14. January to March 2025 is the assessment and payment period for income during the tax year 2024.
  15. Didn't have time to organize the giant poster necessary for the background, and no excuse for the SWAT team to attend either.
  16. Try looking here Draw, NRL Scores, Results for 2024 NRL Premiership | NRL.com
  17. Could, I've had ICE cars in the past which exhibited problems with different fuel grades and was informed by the dealers that prolonged use of the wrong grade could damage the engine.
  18. Keeps you in the shop longer and you might just see something extra to buy, must admit I agree with the potential impacts on the queues it was bad enough when they started accepting cards, then apps, now it's cards and apps. Gimme cash only tills please, I'm quite happy with paper money, while speaking about money let's get rid of the FN stupid 25 & 50 Satang coins, nobody likes them, even Thais throw them away.
  19. It's quite possible she was Malaysian using a car bought in Thailand therefore she had every right to use the 95 octane fuel. Or if she was Thai and on holiday she will need to fuel a number of times, and it's possible that the car has problems with 95 grade fuel, so it means no use of the car or destroy the engine.
  20. and in most cases nothing needs to be done (apart from getting a tax no if you are so inclined) or paid until January 2025, unless you wish to make a part submission circa July '24.
  21. Here's two. I was told foreigners cannot have Pink Card ID No. on your driving license, must be Passport Number, have friends who have received licenses from same office showing Pink Card No. Friend was told that Yellow Book could not be used as proof of address, must get a Certificate of Residence from Immigration, I have been in the Yellow book for over 18years and have always used it without problem at the same office.
  22. It may not be the correct (legal) one, but it will be the one applied by that office/officer.
  23. Totally false in Thailand, my wife owns our car but has never held a car license and has no intention of getting one. PM Note - She doesn't drive it either before anyone gets anty.
  24. Nature will always win, it always does what it want's when it want's. Science has very limited effect on nature (e.g. cloud seeding).
  25. As you said office dependent, and as I'm on a Retirement Extension the photos are not required, although I have been asked for them and where is your wife more than once (being married I could have supplied them, but this would raise another query), shows how much attention they were paying to the application.
