  1. Hi

I've never had need for and so have no idea where to source in Bangkok.  Any TVM suggest where one could  get a dozen or so of grey pavement bricks.  Even sweeter if its located in North Bangkok, Mo Chit area.

    Thanks

  2. @degrub thanks for the relevant reply.  More than likely we're going to buy a new router that can take a SIM card.  At the moment AIS Gomo seems to be a relatively good deal and a new hardware is around B2,500.  I was just wondering if any TVM had a simple suggestion.

More than likely I'll probably do a new posting next week asking members what would be a good router for a SIM card, but before the option I was just seeing if anyone had another suggestion

  3. @FritsSikkink thank you for the reply but I'm a little bit confused.  When I stick the LAN cable into my Wi-Fi router and then connect my devices to the Wi-Fi router why am I not using Wi-Fi?  I understand the magic comes via the LAN cable but do you understand the question being poised?

Next month when I no longer have the LAN cable, I will be using the condos Wi-Fi router in the hallway.  You have any suggestions as to how I can reshare that to my multiple devices?

  4. Great

At the moment the LAN goes into my router and I can share with multiple devices after I login to the apartment's WiFi.

Next month I will change rooms and no LAN cable.  I can log into the apartments WiFi using the router in the hallway but will loose my ability to reshare.

Can this be resolved using new hardware (device) etc....

  5. @KannikaP

Maybe in your desire to help you read a little bit too quickly.  The building offers Wi-Fi and our specific room also has a LAN cable (same provider).  The new room will only have Wi-Fi.

If you don't have experience in this field, it's okay just move on to the next topic, if you do I can explain it a little bit more to you in DM

  6. Hi

We access WiFi using the apartments WiFi system which requires a login.  At the moment we're in a room that has a LAN cable so we connect that to a Wi-Fi router and we can share it to multiple devices (Siri and Google Chromecast).

We're going to change rooms next month and there might not be a LAN cable option.  I have tried to Google but obviously I'm not asking the right question.  Any member here know how I could share the Wi-Fi with the existing Wi-Fi router or would we need to buy new hardware?

    Thanks

There is the option to post it in and obviously depending on your experiences in Thailand and with Thai Immigration, one might be comfortable doing that.  I certainly didn't see it as a realistic option, others will.

My posting (pun intended) was specific to Changwattana and irt online appointments and having to make your presence known at the cubicle.

  8. @Tubby Thankfully the days are over (since 2022) for me at least doing extensions like this.  I would guess in 20 years of extending SETV at Changwattana, my filed address per their system 99% of the time did not correspond to where I was staying (rental) IF the majority of guest houses had filed the TM30.

I always maintain a rental place in Bangkok but travelled extensively around the country. I never had an issue.  I have many occasions stayed at GH where I know definitely they filed the tm30.  Some were owned by foreigners who would tell me the need to file the TM30 to avoid issues ETC and others were Thai people who said immigration were active in their area (tea money).

It could be the crackdown with regard to Chinese Triads or an IO enjoying her job too much.  Yesterday I was doing my first 90 day report and the khet (Bangkok area) has changed its sub-areas from Phayathai, samsen nai to Phayathai , Phayathai.  She spent 3 minutes telling me how important it was, suggesting I couldn't file the 90 day report, but I played along with her listened chilled and she filled.

  9. As it was my first 90-day report it has to be done in person.

I made an appointment on line.  The email says counter A but it's Counter B.

You have to show the booking to the desk which issues queueing numbers.  I was told that they will let the agent know you have arrived but my feeling is that this might not be true.

I was early for my appointment and when there was a gap 30 mins before my allotted time, I let the agent know that I had a booking.  My feeling is that had I not let her know I won't have been called.  She didn't seem to have a list of appointments (other counters do this).

She called me after she finished with the 'alien' in front of me.  It was 20 mins before my appointment.

  10. We will all be old one day and spend our time reminiscing oblivious to not adding any value to the OP question.

https://www.seat61.com/index-mobile.htm is the train guru website.  Richard Barrows has a Twitter account and he is into trains at the moment.  He may be able to help with options to use a travel agency etc....   There were issues with paying with a non Laos or China issued card on the official website.

  11. Hi

Any TV members have a recommendation for a repair to the main board of an iPhone in Bangkok.  I live near Ari but location not as important as recommdations.

If you don't actually have a recommendation move on to the next topic.  The last time I posted I got several replies from people telling me they didn't know.

    Much appreciated.

    Thanks

  12.

    Good Morning

I have a retirement Visa issued at BKK. Im just curious if there is any advantage in 12 months time getting a multi-entry retirement Visa at Savannakhet. Are the financial requirements different?

Today there was a posting about someone who was married getting their Non-O Married Visas and how many comments about it being less financially arduous. I was just curious if it's the same with the retirement Visa obtained at Savannakhet?

  13. Hi

Any member had a recommendation for an apartment in the Tao Poon/Bang Su area, below B10,000 per month (otherwise better to buy than rent above this amount).

No need to comment or reply if you don't know the area or don't have accommodation suggestions.

    Thanks.
