@Sigmund @Neeranam Currency Fair is very slow to answer emails. I usually use Wise but CF rate (total cost) was better on Sunday. I had a few questions and their reply via email and FB is painfully slow, especially with a follow-up question. I'd be concerned if there was an issue after funds transferred.
They said no issue with transfers about THB50k to Kasikorn but on their app it advises it will arrive as a FCT and local bank charges may apply. For Kasikorn that's circa THB500. No reply to a follow-up email sent twice.
Never had an issue with Wise. I will try to send money first to Wise and then see if I get a better rate as advised/suggested by a poster above.
This is a good site for comparison https://www.monito.com/

Hi
I will be changing accommodation before my annual renewal. Will I need to provide a copy of the new rental agreement, owners Tabian and ID card?
Question is specific to CW.
Can anyone help provide a recent link to a posting for Annual Renewal (800k) at CW.
Thanks

I know he has done the trip and twitted about it. Unsure if he has added the details yet to the above website but he is usually accurate.
You can find him on twitter

Good morning
Any TV member have a recommendation for a good bagel easily sourced in Bangkok? The best I've had so far is Tops Bakery, B65 each and very close to the real thing.
I've tried Maison Jean Philippe from Villa Mart and it was poor quality bread in the shape of a bagel.
Thanks

Good Morning
We are in rented accommodation so options are limited. We have an outside sink which we connect to a tap in the shower via a water hose/pipe (see pics below).
We tried PVC CLEAR HOSE SPRING 5/8 and PVC HOSE SPRING 5/8"X20M and both sprang a leak (hole in the pipe).
Any suggestions other than using the ugly blue piping?
If DIY isn't your 'think', maybe move onto the next topic.
Thanks

Hi
Any member have a recommendation for a blender capable of doing ginger and other vegetables. One that they have been using for a few years.
Shopee reviews etc... are great for knowing that the product looks as described but not how its working 6 months later.
Google returns blender recommendations which aren't readily available in Thailand. If you don't have a personal suggestion, that's ok, move onto the next topic (please).

Have a look at the immigration website and print off the requirements (it's a document written in English and Thai). Highlight any part in Thai that relates to a bank account. Thai people love paper that looks like it's official and drop into shopping center(s) and hit evey single bank. If you know a Thai with reasonable English, get them to write saying that immigration department told you to open a bank account. Again this helps. The teller might appear to have good English skills but unless you be here for a while it's hard to judge.
Eventually somebody will let you open the account.
I'm not sure why my post is in bold. I tried to edit it.

@sabaiguy 'the Myanmar IO's never mentioned $10 and I just paid the 500bt'. Yes, I assumed you were very new to Asia.
-
@sabaiguy The learning curve when new to Asia is steep for some and shallow for most. Locals take advantage of those who aren't aware of their perceived abilities v reality. Some have the advantage over others if they have backpacked through Asia and made an effort to understand.

Especially if you haven't done your homework and hand them ฿500 for a $10 visa (they pocket the difference).
Pay the $10 and spend a nice 2 hours walking around experiencing a wee bit of Myanmar

@Chalky0w why did you not try to pay USD$10? The B500 is a 'scam'.

@DrJack54 "Any TVM have a recommendation for a film applied to a window to reduce the heat in a room?". In your excitement to reply you forget the recommendation.

Hi.
Any TVM have a recommendation for a film applied to a window to reduce the heat in a room?
Does it work, noticeable difference?
It's just one side window about 120cm *80cm.
Eg. https://www.homepro.co.th/p/1151363

@The Theory Thanks. Sadly all the locations a bit too far from Chatachuk area, but thanks

@CharlieKo - You might be able to reduce that fee a bit. You just send Euros to wise first. Then make your transfer once the funds reach Wise. I do that GBP and save on the transfer fee. Doing it that way it counts as funds in/on account. So you should get a cheaper fee for funds in/on account.
Thanks, wasn't aware of this. Followed your suggestion and my Euro to THB was deposited in 7seconds.
