  7. I must not have explained myself well, sorry. Probably because of my poor English. What I wanted to say is that Hua Hin is a VERY boring place, which can only be suitable for very old people who get up early, go play golf, have coffee on a small terrace in the afternoon, have a light dinner anywhere and then they go to bed early. Anyway, for that kind of life I would prefer the Portuguese Algarve, and that will probably be my next stop when I feel too old for the life I do right now of traveling, diving, going to restaurants and exploring Asian countries. My wife and I tried Hua Hin, because then it was the hot destination for Bangkok people for holidays and long weekends, but after a week we were bored to death and didn't know what to do anymore. Now all the people from Bangkok that we know prefer to go to Pattaya on weekends: livelier, closer to Bangkok, better connected and there are usually activities every weekend (music festivals, fireworks, jet ski races, vegetarian festival,...).
  8. There is real French cheese (and Spanish, Italian, English,...) at Villa Market.
  9. - Near Bangkok - Close to an international airport - By the sea - It has good shopping centers - Good Thai and international restaurants from many countries (Spain, England, France, Germany, Italy, Russia, Iran, Georgia, China, India,...) - Very good hospitals. - Good public transport service at a good price. - It's the perfect size, not too small and not too big. - Its cheap - It's touristy and everyone speaks English. - There are diving centers. - Numerous tourist attractions in the city and its surroundings. - Good golf courses (if you like golf) - Dynamic and full of action. It's not boring at all.
  10. To decide which would be my best place to live in Thailand, I visited with my wife all the tourist sites in Thailand, including Hua Hin. We found Hua Hin to be a suitable place for retirees over 70 who are golf fans. Personally, we found it boring, and after a week we didn't know what to do there anymore. If you are going to try Hua Hin, my advice is to rent for a month and check if the place is for you, before renting for a long term.
  11. The OLED panel that the Sony television has is from LG
  12. OLED is better than QLED when it comes to black color. Night or space images look sharper. But the price is MUCH more expensive. On the other hand, Samsung's software is better than LG's and is more standard, so there are Apps that cannot be installed on an LG. After much comparison I bought myself a Samsung.
  13. If you like big cities, and lived in NYC many years and had a good time, better move to Bangkok. I chose Pattaya precisely because I hate big cities and my ideal is a small city by the sea, but with all the comforts of a big city (hospitals, shopping malls, restaurants,...) and close to an international airport.

  15. No. That sounds like a corrupt left-wing populist government rather than a corrupt right-wing government. But still corrupt and coming from vote buying.
  16. I visited much of Thailand during CoVid-19 and was surprised by the panic there about the epidemic. The general idea was that it was transmitted by foreigners and in some shops they directly prohibited us from entering. Even Thais outside of Chiang Rai were subject to a lot of restrictions. Some of my wife's relatives directly refused to receive us because we came from Bangkok and Phuket. Cutting my hair was outright impossible, until I ended up at a small barbershop run by an old man who seemed to really need the money and agreed to cut my hair. I did not have the same problem in any other part of Thailand (Chiang Mai, Bangkok, Phuket, Koh Samui, Koh Tao,...)

If everyone sells a product for 1,000 baht, and someone else sells it for 100 baht, don't bother buying it, because it sure is a scam. Even in Amazon. I had that problem with memory cards, once. Never again! Fortunately, Amazon's return policy is good.
