  1. to the title ... Excellent Though didn't get O&A as much as past few years, but got things done around the house and explored a bit more locally.
  2. How many more details do you need, besides a vid showing them beating a handcuffed prisoner to death. I'm a big fan of 'don't do the crime if you can't do the time', or 'predator criminals shouldn't be allowed to walk among us' ... but I think they may have taken it just a wee bit too far Although I have to admit, I do like the airplay it's getting, and may deter some youngin from going down a criminal path.
  3. That should be good for a few million $$$ ... best day of his short life, for taking care of his family And people don't trust people in authority ... who would have thought R I P
  4. If in TH, or planning visiting, retiring in TH, then the uncommon common sense would be, to plan you finance around the negative, worst exchange rate. Enjoy the highs, but don't expect them to last. Know the lowest, base finances on that, and you never be surprised or disappointed. Look long term, past rates, not this week, month, 6 months YTD ... lost shy of 8% 5 years (pre covid) ... actually up a bit, even though a very short lived 18.79, and almost exactly where it is today. Another low, Oct 2008 Seems the average low of AUD, during the past 5-10-15+ year span is 21+/-, So plan your budget on that, not the highs of 27-28-29. You'll have less disappointments & stress. As a Yank, the past 15 years, it's been 30-35/$1, so my brain thinks 33+/-. Rarely dips below 30, or about 35. As long as it stays 30+, no worries, as I still make the 65k a month for retirement visa. When more that the average high, it's all smiles, but no stress when knocking on 30, knowing it rarely dips below, and always short lived, when it does.
  5. May have ... I can't believe anyone still thinks it was not a weaponized virus that accidentally or not, that got released from a lab.
  6. No BYD dealers in USA, I think, and Tesla are made in USA.
  7. Actually 'Chinese' branded cars are not sold in the USA, or very few, as I think AI is incorrect. Although, they do make & sell other brands ...
  8. No
  9. Black-naped Oriole - Oriolus chinensis https://ebird.org/species/blnori1/TH-77
  10. Easy to solve ... move all federal funding to sanctuary city & states and subsidies to businesses within, to National Guard budget of the state, to assist ICE in deporting the scum.
  11. to the title ... only if you're an idiot, can't control, or don't care about your weight and obese. with exception to those that suffer a medical issue out of their control. As always, never miss an opportunity to yank bash ... typical. Surprise Trump was blamed for the obese world.
  12. You'll always have stupid customers, no matter what the product. Apple & iPhones are a fine example.
  13. A good thing ICEV makers never go belly up, or absorbed by a larger company, until they go belly, or get a govt bail out. MG - SAIC ... nuff said Defunct auto makers ... too many to even list, and that's just the USA https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_defunct_automobile_manufacturers_of_the_United_States UK, EU, Europe & JP have their own long lists of defunct auto maker. Just wait till the 'green mandates' are actually enforced. The value of those ICEV will plummet, and simply be collector items in the future. Along with petrol being an 'expensive' niche market, plus licensing to even drive ICE personal use autos & trucks. Not what if scenarios ... but the ICEV future reality
  14. Another what if scenario. If concerned, spend the 100k baht, and buy MG or BYD. Same scenario for Chevy owners, but not a problem, as will be serviced. Same probably for Suzuki, as they'll be stopping production in TH, but will still be serviced. What if .... Toyota and VW shutting production factories in a few places. YES ... WHAT IF ....
  15. Insured value for 590k, which is irrelevant, since we'll be keeping till it dies. if ever, then as stated, more than a few times, repurposed to solar system. That is worth more than any resale value. Try buying 40kWh of ESS, now or 6 more year from now. More than any resale value of any 8 yr old, <1M baht new priced vehicle 2 yrs ago. After the 8 yr battery warranty, not many cars in the now 829k baht range are worth much, or will be in 8 years, including ICEVs. Yes, new tech items, depreciate fast, as new & better arrive. That will flatten out. Also stated many times, if waiting for better tech / pricing, we would have lost 2+ more years of depreciating on the ICEV that we sold. Along with 2 years of petrol savings. So it's all a wash in that aspect. Along with the smiles of driving the BEV over the ICEV version, for the past 2+ years. Your augments are still irrelevant to value of BEVs over ICEVs. If you trade in your car every year or 3, then resale price might matter. But if you do trade up ever couple years, I'm pretty sure money isn't a problem with one's auto purchases.
  16. Deer are located here ... Google "Suspension Bridge - Deer" or ' 10.547215, 99.196395 " in Gmaps
  17. You should be fine. This news blip states problem (Sawi district) is 100 kms south of Pathio District. Even that is 10 days old. https://oananews.org/index.php/node/693236 There's a nice coffee shop/restaurant along the way, if wanting a break after 2hrs driving. Ban Jib.. Just off the main road. Do a nice Green Curry Chicken w/Roti, and Khee Mao. Decent deserts. The Garage Cafe on the Northbound lanes is decent also. Links to, for some reason, can't embed... you'll have to Google, use Gmaps "Ban Jib บ้านจิบ ที่บ้านกรูด" "Garage Cafe Chumphon" Nice lake area with a bunch of deer & bridge, 'photo opt' Google this ... " Nong Yai Area Development Project Under Royal Initiative"
  18. If referring to Chumphon, shouldn't be a problem, especially if arriving from the north of. Flooding probably receded by now, if not, ways around it.
  19. Or at Ko Kret, Amphoe Pak Kret, Nonthaburi ... pretty cool place riverside 👍 Won't accept Gmap link, just google 'chitbeer, Nonthaburi'
  20. Only give her the packaged dog food, and hopefully it's fortified as stated, and will give her a few things table food might be lacking. Same reason I take half a multi vitamin 5 days a week. The other dogs never needed and were quite healthy. so probably overkill.
  21. For now, but people won't remain ignorant forever. When they ride in the neighbors, or family members BEV, and think ... "damn, this is nice, smooth, quiet & performs, better then my POS". Then actually has a conversation with a BEV owner, someone they actually know & respect, realizing how much money they save a year (location dependent), not buying petrol. 40+k baht a year, for us, if our 20k kms were all local. 50+k if you also happen to have solar. Then shift to BEV will be swift, and legacy auto makers for personal transport, will be a thing of the past. Sooner better than later, hopefully.
  22. If people could think for themselves, and stop re-electing corrupt politicians who represent big business, then instead of tax pounds going to big business to set up solar farms, spend it on providing solar to households. People would be self sufficient, but no profits in that ...
  23. So you didn't bother reading the OP, or understand the title. Wind farms aren't mentioned anywhere. To the OP .. .the ignorance of people, against progress is mind boggling. Having solar is one of the best things we've ever done at the house. Through in owning the BEVs, and it's pure BLISS. ROI should be in about 5-8 yrs, depending how much we abuse the AC and drive. As pointed out by @Purdey, shade is beneficial to many crops. You could also collect rain water, in areas that get a bit too much, or needed elsewhere. There are no negatives to solar, considering the issues with other energy productions.
  24. TH for me is the only place I consider home. Only place I want to be, only place I settled into. Back in USA, never had a live in relationship more than 3 years, or lived in any one house more than 4 year. Always moving, and never bought a house to truly live in, any longer than just an investment. Spent half my adult life. 20-45 there, and half, 45-70 here TH, with a partner of 19 years, raised daughter for 24 years, lived in the same houses for 5 & 7, years, and present will probably be my last house, and hopefully longest. When thinking of where to retire, USA really never made my list of choices. Still if I think of returning, I haven't a clue where I'd live. Here / TH, I can think of 5 southern provinces I'd move to, with no 2nd thoughts.
  25. If you have access to a pool, deeper is better, then treading water, or swimming is excellent exercise. No impact on the joints. I had a pool at one house, mostly for just that. Half the pool was 2+m deep, the other half was 1+m deep with built in sitting area in the pool. Tread water for 15 mins or so is hell of a work out. Only a few months in cool season it wasn't usable. Walking is good, if impact is an issue, then cycling. Real deal or a stationary bike at home, for convenience, and in AC comfort if wanting.
