  1. Return orders are irrelevant if SV won't release them, and why would they? They ignored due process when entering the country, so they don't deserve due process when being deported ... IMHO "It added that ICE agents held the families "incommunicado" and failed to facilitate communication between the women and lawyers."
  2. Xiaomi fan, though have no experience with others. Go to Mi store, and you can test the noise level if you think that will bother you. On high they are a bit loud, but doesn't bother me. At night having a lower setting (high, auto, sleep). Auto & high will cycle higher fan when needed.
  3. How about switching to good ol' Aspirin 81. All of 50 baht for 60 tab, in TH.
  4. to the title ... I'm kind of partial to 26C, and once at temp, good inverters don't use much electric at all.
  5. I'm sure he purposely scares the sh!t out of students. Goes into details about embolism, paralysis if sh!t goes wrong, and you can't get to chamber. Might not happen or even notice it right away, and manifest later. It worked on me, made me calculate charts & down time, along with computer as a extra warning. And then you jump in the water with 100 sharks
  6. Don't do the crime if you can't do the time. Child rapist and murders get abused in prison, as it should be. Prisoners have families also, and sharing space with someone who enjoys hurting children ... what better way to pass the time. Warden should give them time off their sentence, or at least an extra cookie at meal time ...
  7. Don't have to use it, just be signed up for it. I don't use it either, just happened to sign up for it. I signed up for Grok, did a search, and didn't care for the results, as it seems to rely heavily on X postings. So I deleted the account.
  8. I posted before reading your whole OP ... didn't notice you don't want to use X
  9. I know if I was in the USA, with kids, I'd be home schooling them. Or out of public, with voucher and put in private school. I even did that back around 1990, when I was living with a gal with 2 kids. Took them out of crap public school, and put in a Catholic school, of all things, as only option. Then I moved from PA, to TN, and the one public school was excellent. Really does depend where you live.
  10. What are you nuts Think you got that wrong, I'm pretty sure the Mods lean a wee bit left. Irrelevant, what ever you post, if reported, better have an acceptable link, from a credible source.
  11. I was replying to OP's Thai part of the post ... ... "HSBC Expat are no longer accepting new clients in Thailand" Think the UK part is irrelevant to the 'heads up', just letting us know how he found out ... and thanks for that, as many might be interested. Along with being in TH forum ...
  12. Reading comprehension, 6th dive, certified at #5. If he didn't trust us, he probably wouldn't have let us go back in. If you can't see each other, vis near 0, then yes, you surface, before getting too far apart. It wasn't where is he, let me do quick search, can't be that far. I couldn't see 2 meter in front of me. My buddy popped up about a minute after I did. The leg, he was right there, and just wanted to see how I'd react, not panic, reach down, and cut it away. Not like he tied me up in a fishing net. Pretty cool actually, apparently planned, as had it rigged with 2 d-rings. Looped my ankle, then hooked to a piece of steel. Too funny. I don't care if you 2 don't believe me. If that's not believable, you definitely wouldn't believe half the stupid sh!t I've done, and not killed myself. That's calm and wasn't even dangerous. Good stuff, as made you pay attention to your surrounding. Thankfully never had any issues diving, Does make you realize how crazy wreck & cave divers are. Not a whole lot of margin for errors. I only dove through a small, very short tunnel, one side of coral to the other, and didn't like that at all. And I'm not claustrophobic. I'll swim with sharks, but not small places. No thanks. OW was with NAUI, excellent Advanced was with PADI, hard to judge, as didn't really teach us anything. But obviously much better dives.
  13. 1990 ... even better, the guy that taught the book & pool part, was amazing. Heart surgeon, and I think half the class were his students. Went into amazing details of what can go wrong. That will spook you and make you pay attention, when doing multiple dives. Also clued us into the med to take if you got a trip planned and paid for, if you get head cold, congestion. As you won't want to cancel, but good luck clearing on descending. Sudafed (old script, not Thai BS), though I already knew that. Just didn't know it's the only thing that 'might' work enough, to save a trip.
  14. I got you beat ... I downloaded Havoc 2005 Pretty bad, and FF though most of it. Anne Hathaway was looking pretty darn good topless 😎 Did watch the 2025 one ... I never had guns that you never had to reload. Time killer for the brain dead, but it's all I had. If into violence and silly shoot up, then maybe a 5/10. Waste of a couple good actors.
  15. Oh crap ... got Q'd up and ready to watch. Only got 2 movies, and I think I might have seen the other one already. Trailer looked familiar. Got 2 eps of 'Last of Us' , but like to wait till have the whole season, or at least half.
  16. On a guess, I'd say the victim knew his attacker, and it wasn't random at all. I've always felt safe, even out at night, though TBH, not out that much at night in touristy areas.
  17. Damn, got me beat. Knew wife #3 for 11 weeks before getting married. Realized in about 6 months, oops, so got divorced, even stayed together for maybe another 6 ish months. #1 & #2 were 2 years each. #1 lasted 2+ yrs, #2 only lasted 1 year. #4 was 8 yrs living together before married, and still together, for 19+ total. 2 live ins, moved in within a couple months of dating, then couple years together, before getting the boot. Nobody I know, knew, ever asked me for relationship advice. Go figure 🙄 Getting them was easy, keeping them, not so easy Strangely, all were mutual, no surprise endings, so a good thing. No real dramas. Lucky hearing some of the stories here. No kids or real assets to divide, so nothing really to fight over. Only one here, TH, was a bit of push & shove out the door. Not that she wanted to stay, she wanted to take sh!t with her.
  18. Patience grasshopper, it may happen to you. And when you least expect and not even looking
  19. I'm kind of surprise, and thought I was destined to be single, which would have been fine also. Though not sure about at my age now, as anyone my age, isn't as easy on the eyes, as the 20+ yr younger wife. 19+ yrs together ... shocking everyone that knows me, as I went through women fast, in between relationships. My brother use to razz me, when I showed up with a different face. He'd look past me and say ... "hey, is that different car" ... not letting the gal know, she probably won't be around next month
  20. I actually need the non dietary fiber in the corn flakes, as I don't eat a whole lot of carbs. Keep my intestinal track 'moving / exercising', along with slowing things down for the carbs I actually do eat. Since I switch my last snack to 'breakfast', I'm a lot more regular. Actually missed my cereal & fruit, as I stopped eating it for breakfast. Was eating cheesecake, cashews & cheese, etc for last snack, but a bit too much saturated fat in my diet, since cutting carb intake down so much. Get enough fats & protein in the awake hours of munching.
  21. Guess it all depends on the student, but it came natural to me & my buddy. Instructor was quite happy about that, as after 2nd dive, he taught us a couple other things. 1 st dive, tested buoyancy control, no prob. 2nd dive, he had us take all the gear, drop all to the sand, no mouthpiece in for 30 secs, then put back on. At that point, he realized we didn't need any hand holding. Took us to a small, open-ish wreck, and purposely tangle our one leg, unexpectedly. Test our panic mode. He got bored, 3rd & 4th dive, so taught us better navigation, which came in real handy. 5th & 6th dive (5 needed), and vis was getting real bad on 5th one. He said if you want, you're done & certified, come back again for 2 dives, instead of going back in now for 6th. We weren't going to be around, so we went back in for #6. Should have listened to him, as vis went to near 0. With a slight current. Me & my buddy got split up kind of fast, and both surfaced immediately. Got back together, back down, and navigated back to the boat. Instructor thought for sure, he'd have to come pick us up. I was surprised myself that what he taught us actually worked. Swimming blind looking at your compass ain't the best feeling underwater. Half way through the dive, we did pop back up to check our bearings, to his relief. Then when we took an advanced course at a different shop, we didn't learn anything new. and learned it in the 'open water' course. So that instructor took us to a couple challenging site, and an awesome deep wall @ Puerto Rico. One of our best dives along with a night dive there. Lucky to have a great instructor, for book and pool learning, NJ, USA. And a few in the class/pool didn't pass. Then referred our dives to warm water FL, USA. On topic, we, me, have never dove with any incompetent divers, or instructors, that I noticed teaching, though rare on those type trips. Seen plenty of vids of idiots though. If I can't dive my computer, I don't use them. If the say 20 or 30 mins down time, then back up. I just ignore them, I don't do set time limits. I dive with a spare air anyway.
  22. OP went a bit over my head also. Not sure what is being asked. Although I find it strange adults need dating advice. They're the opposite (or same) sex, and not much different here than the rest of the world. And (posted many times), don't think you want any advice from me, 5 long term (marriages / live ins) that ended. 6th one was a keeper, and after 8 yrs living together, what the hell, rolled the dice and married her.
  23. Early dinner and on a salad kick this week. Yesterday was usual underneath, topped with salami, cheddar & salsa. Tonight, paired with pork tenderloin ... Usual suspects underneath; 3 lettuces, tomato, onion, R/G peppers, carrot. This one topped with orange & parmesan.
  24. No bullying involved, just offering a way to end it, before the USA, stops supporting UA. And if wanting any other help, for whatever, defense or rebuilding, it won't be free. Take or leave it. It's Europe's problem now, as it always should have been. USA should have never got involved in the first place. You're on your own now ... Good Luck
