  1. Worth nothing .... really. Some cost more than a few $100 USD Some I made from scratch, some were store bought, some were a combination, chop shop, just for the fun of it. DIY, and cost a bit more than $10. Be lucky if you could find a proper battery that could lift it for <$100. Chop shop, 3 drones in one, because I wanted to land & take off in water. Even mounted a waterproof camera underneath, to look for fishies ... Some technical, I had to program the flight controller, even reprogrammed a GPS module once. Adding gimbals wasn't easy, and not plug & play. But was successful Something as simple as adding a gimbal was one of the hardest things to do. So please tell me again, I haven't a clue when it comes to electronics & batteries.
  2. Got to love it when people tell you that your experiences are wrong. I've replaced more than a few battery. Simply swap, to soldering them in, to changing the connector so I could use one not designed for an item. Proprietary, non proprietary, to simply matching up the size & specs. Drones are perfect example of proprietary, and how batteries in the same model line aren't compatible, just to screw you. I've been known to tinker with things once in a while... Someone mention batteries .... PLEASE ...
  3. My experiences are different, and I've replaced my share of batteries, along with gave away or trashed things I couldn't source a battery for. Really depends on the product and what battery it uses. Age and if discontinued or not. I steer away from things that have a proprietary battery, or one that isn't user friendly to replace. I bought one of the last phones I could find that had a replaceable battery with the Sony camera sensor that I wanted. I baby charging it, as couple years old already, and probably won't be able to find a battery for it in a couple years when it does need it.
  4. Is it really that hard to read the labels and know what you are buying ?
  5. Stay married, keep the 'married deduction' for taxes, and since she's not coming back & the kid isn't yours, count your blessings. Being married means you can't marry again, and will pay huge dividends in the future, as you can't make the same mistake again. Not seeing a negative here ...
  6. If you PEA bills are that low, it wouldn't cost you ฿600k for a system. OP is estimated up 50kWh a day, 1500kWh a month = ฿7500 PEA bill ฿600k / ฿7500 = 80 months = 6.66 yrs ROI 👍 If 40kWh a day = 8.33 yrs ROI For 20 ROI, your PEA bill is only ฿2500 a month (<530kWh)
  7. Never ending conflicts for never ending profits, on the backs of US workers, who are struggling. Veterans not being cared for. Homeless & the hungry living on the streets. Seems life is better as an illegal immigrant. UP THE REVOLUTION ...
  8. Could simply go to DIY mega stores, and see what they offer. Sure you'll see that stuff there, along with some others that might interest you more.
  9. Not talking about military strength. USA has more, but is scattered all over, so not that practical. Along with advance supersonic missiles. I'm talking about economic power. Stop supplying USA & EU with grid components, shut down microchip production ... remember covid and parts shortages. The world depends on CH, but CH doesn't depend on USA or EU. Asia, SEA & BRICS will supply what's needed and buy what's made.
  10. I feel the same about USA And ... China already is 'THE WORLD POWER'
  11. Trains may be a good option, especially if traveling at day/early afternoon time. Though don't expect 'new' trains to be any faster, than older ones, and maybe only 30 mins compared to earlier schedules before new dual tracks were laid. Depends how schedules line up from Bang Su to HH.
  12. Might want to search, and see if even the battery is available online, or a compatible one. Manufacturers love to discontinue batteries for, or the whole unit, knowing dead batteries will require another purchase.
  13. "I don't remember lasting this long in the past." I do, as they arrived very late last year. Sticks in my mind, as the rain usually starts end of April, first week of May. Brother told me last year, May 20ish, that after Nam this year, thinking of come to TH afterwards, and I told him not to, as too hot, too polluted, or rainy. Rains have not started enough to knock down the pollution, or dampen everything enough so they'd stop burning, at that time. He did can the idea, though will be in Nam this week, as OZ, NZ & Nam was already booked. Bummer, as it's the same as here now ... crap air. He rescheduled TH for first of Nov, this year.
  14. Unless a vendor at airport, doubtful, then 'van terminal' at Mo Chit Getting to Mo Chit; taxi or bus from DMK Not sure how current or accurate the link is.
  15. Simply 'follow the money' Of course they are pushing cars that need to buy high profit fuel to run, and require expensive upkeep & repairs, vs cheaper electric at home or on the road (location dependent) and little to no regular servicing or repair. You don't expect them to disrupt their 'money train' ... of course BEV are evil & impractical.
  16. I think most prefer to ride there scooters, instead of talking about it.
  17. @ 4:35 of vid ... best advice ever, for noob that comes to TH
  18. Guess you're not in TH, or you haven't used an ATM in about 10 yrs, if not more. Unless you're only use AEON, which can be a bit annoying, as not many ATMs, and many free standing, which you really shouldn't use.
  19. Few thoughts ... ... no hotel room or safe is safe, no exception ... is it really that hard to carry money. 1 stack is 100k baht. How much do you need to have at 1 time. HINT: ATMs when needing more ... in this digital money world, you really don't need to carry much at all I carry money & PP with me at all times. I don't lose sh!t and you ain't going pick pocket my bag. Nobody is that good. Paranoia rules.
  20. Not to go off topic, but people (anti EV'ers) try to tell me, they drive for 6-8hrs without stopping. Yea, you must be driving by yourself. Personal experience, and the wife has needed to stop, less than 1 hour from the house at the start of an O&A (out & about). Geez, you couldn't P before we left. Hour later, 'honey, I'm hungry'. I'm usually good for about 3+ hours, if wife & dog don't insist on stopping. That's a welcomed stop, and I'm definitely hungry, as usually before noon, and I'm not a big breakfast eater, if at all. Returning home, and again, didn't eat much for brekkie, maybe coffee & pastry, so first stop will be after 12 or 1 pm, depending when checked out of hotel, If later check out 11 or 12pm, then it's munch and top up car, before hopefully a 3+ hr drive before stopping or arriving home. Fits my first meal at home schedule. During the day at home, yep, we're eating something every few hours. Me, 11-noon for first meal, then 2 or 3pm, then 5-6pm, dog walk while sun setting, then snack 8ish pm. I prefer no noise while eating, as I enjoy eating my food hot, not talking. If with daughter/friends, I'm usually done before they barely started. "Damn you eat fast" ... "NO, I eat, y'all talk"
  21. Myanmar did have a couple Migs cruising the border, so just a heads up, don't wander into Thai airspace, or fire a wayward missile across the border 👍 Keep your internal issues ... internal.
  22. to the title ... ... Silly prices, pollution & taxation will do that
  23. No ... NO ... seems impractical. Me & wife are together 24/7, but not. I'm taking the dog for walks, looking for elusive birds, flying drones. Taking photos of anything, everything or nothing. She's in the garden/greenhouse, doing laundry, ironing, making clothes, we're inside/outside at the same time, in different rooms and apart for good part of the day. One day she's making something in the kitchen, same or next day, and I'm doing the same. Means we usually have lots of leftovers. Even in the same room, I'm watching crappy western TV, and she's watching crappy Asian TV. We'll shop separately at times. She, usually early morning, coming back from exercise park, me noon-ish coming back from walking dog (same) park. We don't need separate living quarters to be apart and enjoy free time. Easily done in the same, rather small house.
  24. Depends if it drags on for another 10 years. Big oil & arms manufacturers are making big profits, and will continue to do so. Good motivation to keep it going as long as possible.
