Probably people coming into inheritances as they get older. I had a few relatives get a wad of cash and just end up burning it.

They don’t like exchanges and refunds here like in other countries. They also don’t like you trying stuff on or testing things out, or in many cases even browsing too long. Most of what they are selling is cheap garbage from China with most always something wrong with it, especially clothing.

I saw some packed coming from Jomtein but It’s not a lot relatively speaking. They would be picking up groups from the night market or along the whole beach stretch. Any city that was halfway crowded the trucks would be packed each time. I think people are inflating the popularity of the place, or like you say, it’s goofballs hyping YouTube channels to make it sound exciting. You can see in the vlogs them walking down the same few streets in central each time.

Is there really a high season at all? It feels more like hype to me? Without the bar staff and no name Thais milling around I don’t ever see many visitors.

Landlord having access and having a key are two different things. They have access after notice by you letting them in. A key would be for either an emergency or unauthorized access. Another issue is does the landlord want to be responsible for any theft that occurs? If they are not planning on stealing anything or coming in unannounced they are better off letting you change the code to your own private pin. If they have a key they are a pretty obvious suspect.

They don’t, dude. It’s guys that are short on money. They just don’t admit it and act like they are happy in a small place.

Bingo. You can’t get out of that enclosed hill area easy. It sucks. Only one jammed road in and out on a bolt or your own motorbike. A lot of older gay couples don’t have much sex at all, but they are in satisfying stable relationships. They also seem to be well off. I think this is in part because many don’t have children or never raised children. That saves a ton of money over the long term.

If you take away all the staff from the bars and just left the customers there and turned off the music ???? The bars would look pretty empty.

Just sit on the toilet. Saves time walking to the bathroom and you’re probably half naked anyway because of the heat. Might as well shower there also with the bum gun to save time.

Tell the landlord that and to change the code or if you can change it and give them the code. Makes sense to me.

It’s considered more important for the landlord to have access here then your piece of mind for privacy. Just the way it is. If you have ultra valuables you’re expected to use the safe even in a long term rental.

How’s what working out for me?

A good rule of thumb to be happy is to get as much as you can afford. You end up being happy in that because you have to basically. There’s no yearning for something that’s not obtainable.

What is it then?

That’s laughable. It’s common for people to get the run around anywhere in Thailand. All the right documentation but some minor thing like last name, first name not specified in the right order or other things like that, you end up running around in circles trying to get it fixed.
