Riots by bidens/ harris new vision for America
jaywalker2 replied to riclag's topic in Political Soapbox
Put aside all the woke. dei, transrights, BLM and other distractions and look at the facts. Biden appointed Janet Yellen as Secretary of the Treasury, a diehard conservative who spent her time as FED chairman funneling easy money into the stock market, making the rich ever richer. For her services, she was rewarded with millions of dollars in "speaking engagement" and is now a multimillionaire. BLM went up in smoke. The movement leaders were exposed as corrupt and it accomplished nothing. DEI, the new affirmative action, which was struck down by the Supreme Court, is already dying. Remember the "me too" movement? Gone with the wind and with it Cancel Culture. Wokeness? It hasn't made a dent in anything that really matters. Society is still ruled by a cabal of billionaires, financeers, and elite conservative Americans. Donald Trump ain't gonna change that. He gave one of the largest tax cuts in history to the ultra-rich like himself. They're now paying on average 12 percent in taxes. There is no radical Maoist, Leninist], Communist movement threatening to take over society. Most young people don't have time for that nonsense. They can barely afford to live. The idea that either Biden or Harris is a radical leftist is absurd. AOC is the new Nancy Pelosi. The rich continue to control both the Democratic and the Republican parties while the herd is busy arguing about things that don't matter. You've been fooled. -

Give me a break. You think that's representative of average young person? -
There have been a few cosmetic changes like changing the position of the start menu and reorganizing the pinned apps menu. The settings menu is also better organized. The differences aren't major but it's better operating system than Windows 10 and there's no major learning curve or problems with app compatibility. It does require more memory so I'd recommend you get at least 16gb

There are many variations. I always bookmark several because they use different servers and often have different content as well.

BUYER BEWARE - questionable medical care
jaywalker2 replied to The Snark's topic in Health and Medicine
Unfortunately, this is becoming par for the course in Thailand. Girlfriend went to the hospital with abdominal pain and the doctor insisted she needed a CT scan. He said it didn't reveal the source of the pain but she should now get an MRI because there might be something suspicious. She said no and went to another clinic. The doctor there told her he couldn't help her without a colonoscopy. When she told me the story and described the symptoms, I told her she had probably been drinking too much milk and was lactose intolerant. She switched to lactose free milk and problem solved. -

Thai PM Launches Project to Transform Thailand into Financial Hub

I'm starting to think he has ADHD. If he could just settle on one policy and actually make it happen, he'd be far better off. But, as the saying goes, this guy is "All hat and no cattle." -
You're a hopeless alcoholic who spends the weekends drooling over far bar girls before passing out.

Supersports has outlet shops at various locations including MBK. They also carry large sizes.

I find marijuana can help with erectile issues, although a lot depends on your partner. I have found that it's also necessary to change the way I have sex, putting more emphasis on petting, foreplay, etc., focusing on the pleasuer of my partner, and not worrying so much about my own orgasm. This is not what most men want to hear however. That said, there have been studies that show that ejaculating regularly is good for prostate health. One study I remember claimed that ejaculating 20 or more times a month would reduce prostate problems.

Finance Ministry Pushes 99-Year Leases for Foreigners
jaywalker2 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Notice that Sansiri, the prime minister's company, is planning on launching 20 condominium projects this year, valued at 22 billion. They're targeting foreigners, mainly Chinese, for at least a third of pre-sales. Which brings up the question of whether trying to push through legislation to increase the percentage of foreign buyers for condominium projects is unconstitutional. The military specifically forbids Cabinet members from sponsoring legislation that benefits them personally. Even if Srettha nominally transferred shares to his daughter he is still indirectly benefiting. Is this going to be allowed to happen? -
Yeah but they weren't in the same class as Elvis. He was a little bit before my time so it took me a while to truly appreciate him. But he wasn't just a great singer, he was the first overtly sexual singer. A force of nature. Even 20 years later, women were still throwing their panties up on stage. That didn't happen with Tony Bennet or even Old Blue Eyes. The Beatles were similar. They had an almost inexplicable libidinal energy when they first started. I read somewhere that the seats would be sopping wet after they gave a concert. Taylor Swift is totally different, bland, carefully curated, a triumph of marketing. Her main democraphic is millenials, almost evenly split between men and women. I don't think anybody has an orgasm while watching Taylor Swift.

I agree. It's not only that I've stopped listening to music for the most part, it's as if I can't understand popular music anymore. I spent a week trying to understand why Taylor Swift is so popular, but for the life of me I can't figure it out. I really do enjoy peace and quiet though. And sleep music.

We all know about the grift of the Clintons and Obama now. There wouldn't be such a backlash against the Democrats among the members of its own party if they weren't aware of how corrupt the leadership is. The only problem is that the Republicans are even worse. And Kennedy, as sincere sounding as he may be, is probably a nutcase.

When are Booze prices going to come down?
jaywalker2 replied to bob smith's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Actually, wine prices have been falling in Europe, due to the decrease in wine drinking because of studies claiming that no amount of alcohol is safe to drink. I remember reading a while back that the average price paid by Germans for table wine was $1.89. Well, we can only dream about that here. -
It has absolutely nothing to do with impeding economic progress. Letting rich foreigners make rich Thais even richer will not raise the standard of living for the average Thai. Look at property markets in places like London and New York, which have become all but inaccessible to native residents due to the influx of foriegn money. Bangkok was once a city where rich, poor, and middle-class mixed in the same areas. But not anymore. Just recently the vendors were banished from Lang Suan after Thaksin's daughter Paetongtarn bought a condo there. Coincidence? Look at some of the newer developments like Lang Suan Scope, where a 1 bedroom, 87 sq mtr condo sells for 47 million. The old neighborhoods off Sarasin that allowed the poor to live in the center of the city were seized in order to build monstrosities that 99.9 percent of Thais can't afford. Now you have a city that's so sterile that the BMA has to put fancy tiles on the sidewalks in Yaowart so tourists can recognize it as Chinatown. If Thailand wants to grow its economy, it should focus on creating a stable politicial situation and sustainable job creation not rank speculation so the rich can sell off the country to Chinese and Russian money launderers.

The Thai smile is by its nature fake. Even Thais laugh about it. And most Thais that I've encountered don't have close friends, because sooner or later they'll ask you to lend them noney. So keep people distant, smile whenever someone asks you to do something you don't want to do and refuse to answer, and develop some hobbies that will take up your free time. Painting is good. Or fishing. Or writing a blog about being a farang in Thailand.
