High power demand units on battery vs solar vs grid
Njoku replied to Pink7's topic in Alternative/Renewable Energy Forum
There not all bright like a light here, add few dont know what a hotplate or oven is then the dicks run under rated cabling and circuit breakers, in my condo the very dim wits ran the hotplate and oven on the same line into the one circuit breaker so when running hotplate and oven same time it trips. Start with getting the oven checked if its never done that before, after that good luck if nothing wrong with it. -
Non-DIY Solar installation
Njoku replied to BasketCase's topic in Alternative/Renewable Energy Forum
I had a 5.4 kw system with 10kw battery back in Melbourne Australia, the battery part would be beneficial here but double the size min if running aircons in evenings (not all night) other wise just cooking and lighting and a fan or two 1 10kw battery and youre likely to never pay much for electricity again, if you have a pool and just want to cut the bill a 3 kw system will do it, if no pool and dont care to much 3 kw again, they over kill the sizing here I noticed but anyway Home Pro and Mega Homes same company have solar systems installed, 3kw for around 155,000 think the 5kw around 210,000...checked with 2 local solar installers here in the Pattaya area pricing was similar of course you may add to the cost if roof needs attention for panels here they run rafter spacings a lot further apart here, battern spacings could be a problem too. Then the sales guys try and sell you the Rolls Royce systems in the end you cant believe a word they say because we dont know what there flogging us so I will just go cheapest, but do youre homework on inverters as thats important, well its all important but again you are relying on them to tell you the truth.. Footnote, unless you are using aircons during the day most electrical consumption is in the evenings, if running aircons evenings one 10/12 kw battery wont be enough, will need 2 to make a significant dent then 5.4 kw should do it most of the time in charging up batteries here in Thailand, back in Melbourne in summer my 10kw battery was full by 11 am. -
55B per sq m here, 7 floors 35 units, only 2 sizes available, 100 and 120 sq m, several Thai owners have asked for a refund of common fees if not spent, which was rejected, I believe one Thai is on the committee of maybe 5 or 6, Thais in general take a short sighted view on maintaining anything especially housing, I would be worried if the committee was stacked with Thai owners as there likely to not keep the maintenance up let alone initiate spending to improve the place. When looking around I had my eyes on a large complex in Jomtien I loved the 2 bedroom lay outs and what seems to be fantastic pool/s...on inspection was put off with how run down this 5 or 6 year old place was already looking, marks on the walls, water pooling in corridor on the third floor in the section we where in, agent goes, ho roof leak, like its still dry season, it was likely from a faulty bathroom judging by the location of water and room bathrooms, then there was the parking mayhem, which is common in most of these mega condo complex, 35 b per sq m in that place, is around 850 units and its a run like a <deleted> show.

Well now thats YOU'RE problem isn't it, I read fine but you from the EU bring EU standard to a Sth East Asian country, the cabling to out front of house or building from an exchange is FREE, the connection is 3000B, same principle applies in AUSTRALIA, and regardless what you claim I doubt any internet connection is free anywhere on the globe. It's highly likely you who use English as a second language dealing with Asians who use English as a second language did not understand each other....I was just at 3BBB this morning changing plan and signing up for another two years, like English is my first language yet we had difficulties explaining and understanding each other, then paying asked if I could use what they call Tap here which is Apple Pay since I use an iPhone, no sir, then sweet pretty girly next to her jumps in and says yes you can, miss communications go on here all the time....
-
When doing my research I was clearly told only 3BBB in this building, now this could be 3BBB spin but I did check with True and they said no, about a year later I spotted an AIS crew playing round with a pole out front, they told me I could get AIS home Internet in my building, a typical Thai way to doing things is tell you just enough but never it all, anyway since then ive learned 3BBB and AIS have amalgamated so maybe thats why I was told I could get AIS in the building. Anyway this is a no stress country until you decide to stress over small things like that Nigerian then its time to go home..
-
Yes mate this SMART guy knows they had the cable in the building only 3BBB here, but I was still charged 3000 to run from where ever likely on my floor into my condo,..if 3000 breaks your bank stay in home country and pay X10... Also if you been living in this country long enough you would have realised that product knowledge is poor to non existent, some dumbfound you and actually know what there talking about but generally they think there experts and know jack s.h.i.t. It's you the problem buddy you dont know.....and shoot from the hip when you hear something you dont like or dont compute, Thais in general all work the same way which is nothing much like where you come from in Nigeria....

You need to seal not just the door front and rear but all 4 edges with a sealer, thats sides top and bottom, very very common top and bottom get over looked, this stops the growing and shrinking, seal when the dry season comes and dont plane off anymore till then, if you need to refit refit then seal everywhere.
-
Yes I payed 3BBB the 3000 for cable install, the Teck guys arrived later with modem and set it all up, dont know why you are surprised, if there is no line in then in most places in the world you pay for it to get put in, and like 3000B is $AU133 like thats going to stop you eating for month hey?

3 Things that will make your relationship successful in Thailand

When did you start taking you're own advice? -
ive seen more than half the country well id say most, Pattaya is a <deleted> hole compared to the rest, we are talking the main areas, but in Pattaya's case its everywhere, its a mess they dont fix anything in Pattaya just spending money on the beach a covered walk way at the pier and neglect everything else, ripping up roads constantly then bad refurbishment of the road, if you ride a motorbike around Pattaya you quickly find all the uneven roads including pot holes, im seeing new holes every few days. They ripped a stretch of Suk at a cross road, for what I dont know and replaced the asphalt with concrete and did a <deleted> job marrying it to one and other, they have done it in a few places, for what purpose? well some its laying storm water pipes other places we left scratching our heads. No its way better everywhere else in Thailand but here, throw in traffic management, I live under 5 ks from Central Festival one time 45min another time 1 hr to get home on leaving, yet im there in 10 to 20 min depending on traffic and thats driving. I spent years staying in BKK normally 2 to 3 month stays every year, and I like BKK but when I decided to retire and live here decided to move to a sea side city, id only visited Pattaya maybe 4 or 5 times in 18 ys, it was down to Hua Hin or Pattaya, Hua Hin on long weekends the traffic is horrendous, once it took 7 hrs to drive from BKK to HH, then trying to get out of my Airbnb and go for dinner, that memory stayed with me. Ive tripped a few times walking on there footpaths in and around Pattaya, one time I smashed my $400 smart watch in a fall, never in BKK or anywhere else, decided going for walks here was like trying to doge Hamas rockets so bought a treadmill, that day it took an hour to get home from Central when I got back to my condo called the agent that sold me my condo and listed it, so yeah im voting with my feet im moving to Sattahip next year...

Name your favorite newspapers from around the globe. All languages.
Njoku replied to Gobbler's topic in General Topics
There are no good news papers left in the world today, I watched the demise of The Age, (AU) went from world class to local rag in 10 ys... I like to start my day with a coffee and news, read on line obviously wont mention the 2 I start with but I can get through both anywhere from the time it takes to drink a cup of expresso to maybe 30 min if im lucky.... -
It's great in locks....a neighbour in my condo block decided I shouldn't have the option of renovating my apartment...

You can drink that muck? Well when traveling here lot of these even so called better hotels provided the 3 in one, a real annoyance to me, prior to moving here I was developing IBS which now has gone, but that 3 in 1 always set my tummy off the few times I used it, I travel with an Aero Press these days or when in the mood for milk and sugar just go to a coffee shop.
-
Well I never flashed in AU, youre doing the wrong thing or over the limit what ever you deserve to get caught, irresponsible people take out others that are doing the right thing, as for here id do the same, since I have an extremely poor opinion of motorbike riders in general here id let them meet there fate.
-
Yep I even noticed tourists and expats riding motorbikes like there in the last race of there life, no helmets, bullet proof, ignorant to everything else.

Takes two to tango, you need a willing partner to dance or have a war with, as long as you have two sides willing to arm them to the teeth, then let them kill them selves off, both sides are thick as a clay brick, which goes too show you one side is just so dumb they lack the ability to be able to critical think while the other side is in persecution mode and reacts well they both react to a blade of grass moving in the wind..

Pattaya Pier Canopy Project Pushed to Complete in Two Months
Njoku replied to snoop1130's topic in Pattaya News
They know where to spend there precious Bhat, don't worry about tourists breaking a leg walking across a pot holed road or an obstacle course of footpaths, instead put a roof over a pier so they wont get there plaster cast wet instead. I walked through Central Havana daily over two weeks back in 2016 and it was way safer than anywhere in Pattaya, they have no money to spend on infrastructure but they fill holes and gather up rubble from crumbling buildings into piles and eventually moved it, ho the footpaths where like pure gold compared to Pattaya and no obstacles....City Hall should take a trip to Havana and see how they do it on peanuts.. -
World class tourist image? of broken footpaths with obstacles pot holed roads, buildings in prime locations that haven't seen a lick of paint since they where built, this is "world class"? You got to be kidding, but hey keep talking it up so then it becomes the truth, reality is they have extremely low standards...lets throw in pre 1935 traffic management....

How much Superannuation is enough
Njoku replied to georgegeorgia's topic in Australia & Oceania Topics and Events
$114,000 a year to live in Thailand? I could live in Monaco on that and have change, on your calculations you will be broke 3 months after you start receiving the pension. -
I bought one of those upright evaporated air cons thinking if it didnt work at least its almost a pedestal fan, around 3000B its got 4 speeds and lowest is pretty low, great for sleeping..

Those things are a bit off a gimmick, the TGF has bought a stepping thingo, chases a ball tied to some heavy iron thing with a bat but it didnt take her long to realise the treadmill I bought was better value, now I spend about 30 min max a session about 4 to 5 times a week on the treadmill, youre not really going to lose weight it was for when I decided to give up going for walks around her because of the footpaths that look like Gaza, its for endurance, limbering up, exercise unless your doing army basic training unlikely to loose much weight, its always about what you put in youre mouth theres enough info out there to debunk knocking your brains out in a gym is the way to go.
