  1. The individual visas expire after 5 years or when your passport expires - whichever is nearest. So make sure you have at least 5 years left on your passport before getting any TE visa inserted because they only way you're getting another 5 year visa when it expires is at the airport on the way into the country or by going in person to Chaeng Wattana. You don't need to go to Thailand at all, if the current visa expires while you're out of the country you can arrange for a new one to be inserted on arrival at the airport. You need to make an advance reservation for this or you won't get it by just turning up unannounced and it will be a pain because you will then need to go to Chaeng Wattana for a separate visa insertion. Planning ahead you can easily avoid the above issues. For the other guy who was told there is a paperwork requirement and he needs to get in touch with Thailand Elite to renew - this was the case during the covid pandemic period, suddenly out of nowhere you needed to have a special authorisation letter from Thailand Elite but they told me last Novemeber that this is no longer needed when I did my annual extension, however then then sent me a letter anyway which was a little odd but I printed it out and took it with me anyway. Sounds like the immigration office were not aware of recent changes which were changed again and again over the last few years when it comes to TE.
  2. Are you sure all those benefits can be transferred now they've stopped issuing that type of visa?
  3. Actually no, it's the foreign militaries which have bases and 'consulates' all over Germany which are considered to be the occupying forces.
  4. So what? I know a German who told me his home country is occupied, I was surprised as I'd never heard of this theory before but he went into quite some detail about it. It wasn't recent either, like 5 or 6 years ago so it's nothing new.
  5. I heard plenty of Germans consider their country to be occupied and have done for a very long time.
  6. I wouldn't be in any rush to ever return to a country which previously denied me entry.
  7. Give it a week or two and review the situation
  8. I wonder if the Kayak was damaged and how much the rental 'late fee' will be?
  9. One coup leader or another - what's the difference?
  10. Also if you don't already have a Thai tax id for other reasons (perhaps historical) then they're not coming knocking. Not yet anyway.
  11. I remember when Google launched Google+ and went all in on it to counter the rise of facebook. They failed miserably. Fighting the first mover and dominant player is not a great strategy. Facebook are trying to remain relevant - they will fail, might take another 10 years or so but it's going to happen.
  12. Maybe they should ban foreign shareholders and keep everything 100% Thai. See how that works out and look back on the result after some period of evaluation, say 10 years and then decide how to proceed on a more permanent basis....if there's anything left by then that is
  13. Amazing, normally it comes from chicken pox which is varicella zoster.
  14. That was yesterday I'm also a little puzzled by this story as it speaks of a drinking water supply. Everyone I know gets their drinking water out of some kind of machine which filters it or just stocks up on Singha, Nestle or something similar. There is no 'drinking water' supply, is there?
  15. He picked Pence before, why should this time be any different?
  16. Yet they're busy arresting tourists who overstay by less than a week in some parts. Immigration seem to have got their priorities completely wrong. The country absolutely depends on tourists in order that it doesn't degrade into a pennyless backwater - the pandemic proved this beyond any doubt. They should act accordingly.
  17. Well you're definitely going to have problems breathing and also a lack of blood, even attempting to stand up would likely be problematic - and very quickly assuming an artery was punctured. Blood would be everywhere, like spraying from a hose at high pressure.
  18. The number of days is slowly but surely decreasing
  19. Who called them? I doubt he did....it was his fire and he wanted it ????
  20. What's the odds that the victim ends up in prison and/or sued for 'defamation' and forced to remain in Thailand for years while it goes through court?
  21. Yes, the model I had used some kind of 2 piece transmitter and receiver which both took AAA batteries - worked well for about 12/13 years.
  22. I bought some TDK wireless headphones in Bangkok back in about 2010, they recently broke as in physically snapped due to wear and tear, notably they still work. Anyway I bought a new set and will do so again rather than salvage old junk.
