  1. I'm just waiting for a news report about this place being raided and shut down. I also wonder if you need to provide your name and address when making a purchase, you know - just to prove you're over 18, 20, 21 or whatever they've set the arbitrary age limit to?
  2. The problem with the people in charge of both promoting tourism and immigration policy have is that they are too short sighted. Over the years we've heard countless times about how they plan on attracting 'quality tourists' which I take to assume people with more than a little money available and there's proof of this..... When they actively pursued this policy they introduced bank account auditing prior to issuing visas, only those with certain bank balances over the previous year or something like that would qualify for certain visas. This is one of the single dumbest things I've ever heard of in my life. The fact that it became policy is almost unbelievable - and it's still there I believe. They should be doing everything they possibly can to attract as many tourists from all sectors of the industry and exclude nobody - that is their single largest failure. There's nothing wrong with attempting to encourage more wealthy people to come but excluding others is the failure they don't see. I wonder who came up with that idea? They're simply too stupid to manage an industry and deserve absolute failure as the result.
  3. Not if they steal your stopping space / distance by driving into it - that's reckless driving everywhere.
  4. The country had been in a state of decline for a good few years prior to covid. Covid is however the perfect excuse for all their problems If they planned things correctly they could come out on top but as we can see they're making a mess of it.
  5. I've long had a personal theory that the entire visa run / leaving the country rule was introduced to increase airline revenues and visitor numbers.
  6. Lots of countries issue 90 day stamps, they're a bit dim here.
  7. It looks kind of similar to an old business class seat from long ago, like 20 years ago.
  8. Looks like they're wearing military uniforms while inspecting 'karaoke bars' I'm aware that they are almost certainly not in any way military personnel but why wear 'camo uniforms' - imagine the holiday photos with 'soldiers' in the background ????????
  9. Every case this guy and his team ever worked on which led to a confession needs to be nullified.
  10. Yes, it's definitely not US$3Million - not a chance. My very comprehensive policy doesn't even have US$3 million of cover, it's nearer to US$2 million and that costs thousands of pounds a year and I'l not even 50 yet. US$3 Million = 103 Million Thai Baht
  11. This is what happens when you fire all your staff, who could have predicted this ????
  12. Is it not the case that the approved cannabis plants will have almost zero THC, the psychoactive ingredient found in cannabis plants? This sounds like the equivalent of banning alcohol free beer because of the trace amounts of alcohol According to what I've read about the situation nobody will be getting 'high' from anything legal at all. Source, a Bloomberg article from yesterday : https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2022-06-07/what-you-can-and-cannot-do-now-thailand-s-eased-cannabis-laws
  13. This option comes with either option 1 or option 2 - it doesn't come on its own. You don't choose to let COVID rip, covid 'rips' anyway.
  14. I would think it's more about what they're buying from the free market. Lets not forget that Iran is a heavily sanctioned country.
  15. I'm going to go out on a limb here and suggest that whatever it is they're licensing and giving away when grown will contain almost none of the active ingredient by design.
  16. Find the company which is 'testing the devices' and then follow the trail of relatives and money back to the person who authorised the 'expensive' tests and you will have your answer.....
  17. The list is a bit arbitrary isn't it. I doubt too many have leprosy or elephantitis and if you're going to contract TB you have a lot more chance of getting it here than in the western world, but then again these same requirements are going to be applied in countries where these conditions do exist. As for alcoholism, I'm sure there's a whole load of people who are addicated to alcohol without knowing it and there's no way their doctors will know either unless they're at the extreme end of the scale. This visa is a bit of a joke but it does get the job done, the requirments appear to be such that they would discourage people from applying for it. The proof of this is that you can simply get an extension based on retirement inside Thailand without any of the hassle and paperwork or buy an Elite visa and all the paperwork you need to supply is the application form and the fee.....the requirements simply vanish for some reason on the other visa types.
  18. Now is the perfect time to renew your passport to avoid hassles with the shortened visa and having your yearly renewal date altered to June. You're going to lose a bit of time on the passport but it's worth it to avoid the hassle as far as I'm concerned.
