  1. For many more to follow Poland and other countries supplying them would have to deplete their own defense infrastructure. It's not like they have hundreds of surplus tanks lying around. Also, don't forget they need spares, transport vehicles, recovery vehicles, and lots and lots of fuel, all of which has to be sent to the front, which is on the far side of Ukraine. Seems like a lot of wishin' and hopin' is going on.
  2. I didn't watch the whole 12 minutes of it, but it's what I've been saying all along- the winners are the weapons manufacturers and their shareholders. Even if Ukraine forces the Russians to stop and leave, Ukraine is the biggest loser with their dead and the destruction of their infrastucture. Short of NATO suddenly going MAD and attacking Russia, Russia hasn't been devastated, and once the dead are buried they'll re arm and move on. Western arms manufacturers will get even richer resupplying depleted ammunition supplies and using the war experience will design even better machines to kill people. However, perhaps the biggest winners will be the contractors that rebuild Ukraine with billions in western "aid" ( taxpayer's money ).
  3. In the real world that's not always an option. Mao and Stalin died in bed, not having been deposed. Bad guys don't always lose.
  4. Seriously? Seems you forget about MAD. No matter which side launches first, we all suffer or die.
  5. Don't hold your breath on 5 6 7 9 Agree about Putin, but does anyone think another will not continue the fight? He's not running the government all by himself.
  6. Looking at the title, it just struck me that if it's true, the guy must be loaded ( or she is and he can use her money ), as who else can afford to send HUNDREDS of quid every month, and fly there frequently?
  7. and when it does, and thousands die, it will be on every news outlet. Till then, other things to get the all important view numbers.
  8. That's right, and is why a thread like this lasts more than one page. We all have a point of view, and because we are on here we wish to share them, anonymously.
  9. My response to that is x 100. Seems like we have a wokester in the room, that thinks putting a stupid label on someone that says something THEY don't like will shut them up ( misogynist, racist, etc ). Here's a thought- how about discussing the OP and not making personal attacks on other posters? The OP isn't about me, or any other poster that you disagree with.
  10. No idea. Divorced her years ago. Perhaps she's sorry because she was horrid to me till I had enough of it.
  11. Getting a policy isn't the same as getting a claim paid out. If the small print says you need a licence they'll take your money and refuse to honour a claim, based on no licence.
  12. Is the rate different from that in other equivalent countries? IMO depression is far more widespread than officially acknowledged. Where I live psychological services are a rarity for many/ most of the less well off as it has been an underfunded branch of health for many years, and the cops are left to try and pick up the pieces. I assume the same applies in LOS. Private counseling is of course far too expensive for most of us unfortunate peasants.
  13. Long time ago a very attractive female radio dj met me when I had my shirt off, and was so impressed by my hairiness that on her next broadcast announced a song dedicated to the hairiest man in ...........! Unfortunately I never met her again to try my luck. These days most of my head hair seems to have migrated to elsewhere on my body.
  14. Did you miss "In an emergency petition in a Florida court, Ms Harrell's lawyer argued that jail staff have endangered the child through "a lack of reasonable and necessary prenatal care". ? Where is that saying about being held for "no reason"?
  15. I didn't see a breakdown of that by gender. That would be significant. IMO women are more likely to be bisexual than men, and in the case of men, as is evident in Thailand, some men that do not consider themselves to be homosexual or bi sexual will have a walk on the wild side
  16. So many labels; no wonder us ordinary blokes that don't spend our entire time wanting to be different are confused. IMO if it were not for having it thrust into our faces at every opportunity, most of us "ordinary blokes" wouldn't even think about it. I certainly don't have conversation about it with my friends- it's of no interest normally. BTW, if the creature in the last photo is in anyway typical of the LG etc community, it's no wonder we don't want to think about it any more than we have to. BTW, wasn't homosexuality normal when the Greeks were in charge of the western world?
  17. Yes indeed- Maslow. Thanks for that. When talking about humans we, IMO, need to separate the biological transport mechanism- the body- from the mind of a human. The body is an animal, and is governed by genes. To use sex as an example, a sexually attractive woman will bring about a genetic reaction in a man, just as a bitch in heat will bring about a genetic reaction in a dog. The difference between man and dog is that man can over rule the genetic imperative and decide not to mount the woman, while the dog has no choice and either mounts or is prevented. That, IMO is what makes humans superior to animals- while we still have genetic imperatives from our animal body, our God given mind is in control ( in most, but not all humans ).
  18. I have no doubt about it.
  19. What on earth are you on about? Did you forget that we only started having this debate because I said we men will never understand women? Women are IMO a different species, mentally, from men. Like the author said, Men are from Mars, women from Venus. I make no claim to understand them, based on my experience of working with so many.
  20. Had I asked my thousand female co workers that question, they would either have been offended, or have laughed in my face for asking a stupid question, but I worked with intelligent independent women that made their own money and were not dependent on a man for their self worth. If they actually thought about it, IMO they would have said they wanted to equal with a man, neither the boss, not the underling. Yes, there are women out there that depend on having a man around to validate their existence, and those that play the submissive game, but they were not the sort that I worked with. Having said that, I once did a course that had women ( not nurses ) and men on it, and at the end of course party I was astounded to see the women all using their sexuality to garner kudos from the men on the course. Thankfully, having worked with thousands of women, I am immune to such wiles.
  21. I don't need to. I worked with over a thousand women that I knew well enough to have a conversation with, and probably a few thousand more that I didn't have conversations with over decades. How many women did you have conversations with that were more than small talk?
  22. If whataboutism is at play here so is off topic. The topic isn't the history of Putin's rule, it's about Ukrainian fever in LOS.
  23. PS the loss of "sanuk", that left the building about the same time as the smile.
  24. The changes over the many decades I visited/ lived in LOS would have to include the loss of the smile, much fatter women, the destruction of every nice beach I visited, Thaksin and the yellow/ red conflict, more difficult visa regulations and the end of back to back indefinite visa exempt visits.
