  1. It must be 8 years since this building was abandoned before completion. What's the plan, take it down or just leave it there forever? 50 floors of Condo's, so many people must have lost millions of baht in this fiasco ????
  2. I'm picturing lines down the road on Friday like at immigration ????
  3. In T&G v1.0 many people booked months in advance (turned out to be a good move). For all we know the 23000 could be for the next 3 months or even longer
  4. When I was last here in Nov 19 Treetown to me was just a few bars and a VW booze van on a corner of Bukhao next to Beer Hub. Pleasantly surprised that the place is massive now with bars wall to wall on both sides of the Soi for over 100m and then turn right for another 50m of bars. Quite impressive growth ????
  5. It's never been about the Thai Pass itself, that's pretty simple, it's the requirements to complete before getting approval of a Thai Pass. Pre-paid flights, covid insurance, hotel, PCR tests, airport transfer
  6. Condo and Houses are treated differently. My Chanote is in my name as I own a Condo (100%) which is allowed as long as the entire Condo block is not more than 49% foreign owned.
  7. "had applied for the 60 days on 19 February, received the usual 15 day under consideration stamp" Unless you're a time traveller, do you mean 19 January, if so that means you were under the old extension rules so outcome would be expected?
  8. Did you miss the fact that to apply for a Thai Pass you must have already booked and paid for 2 nights hotel, airport transfers, 2 PCR test and your flight (required for hotel booking)
  9. I only went to a couple of places and they didn't ask for an ATK, just temp check. I assumed places selling ATK's would definitely be asking so didn't go in
  10. I have a Chanote and Blue Book. The blue book is worthless for me to use for residence though as foreigner name is not allowed to be in it.
  11. Well they have repaved the road and are just finishing off re-doing the footpaths so they are planning to open fully soon I would think. There is also another improvement, no tour groups staring and taking multiple pics and videos of you, that was the real death of WS glory days for me
  12. Ok thanks, but that doesn't really help me as this is in the Pattaya forum ???? (have updated my post to mention Jomtien)
  13. Anyone know if the lines at Jomtien immigration have reduced now that the covid extension deadline of last week has passed?
  14. Yeah purely voluntary, I walked straight past (I've avoided doing an ATK for entry so far)
  15. Did a visit to first part of Walking Street last night. Stones, Rock House. Fahrenheit and Lucifers all open, not with crowds but people in all with some good bands playing. Windmill and Le Pub pretty busy on soi 15. There's some life left in the old girl yet ???? Note: there were free ATK's at WS entrance, while some clubs were charging 120 baht
  16. And the Test & Go button on Thai Pass is active again. Let's see how many 'Tourists' are willing to pay for 2 nights quarantine under this "Quarantine free" scheme 5th day lockup is a joke
  17. I'm pretty sure they wiped all previous years, just look for latest bill with 85-90% discount if you pay...
  18. To be clear, if you drink at Metro bar opposite Destiny, you can see the stage shows safely as they leave the doors open ????
  19. In other news, two Gogo re-opened in Lk Metro on Friday...not sure if they are now restaurants but definitely up and running with many lady on show ???? My "Destiny" is to "make love me" ????
  20. In response to several posts telling me to stop posting here about bars in a bar thread because it's not my personal blog/account, maybe other members should get out more and post as well? Me personally, when I was locked out for 26 months any news of bar happenings made me happy to know that I could come back soon. Obviously not the "I'm in Thailand so stuff you crowd".
  21. You go to your account page and you you can ban seeing other members posts. My mosquito post was exactly that to show how silly people sound when they blamed me for beach house padding my bill 3 times before I finally had enough. Apparently it was all my fault
  22. After a 3 day self imposed ban for reacting to forum posters, I'm really sorry to report that I saw 5 mosquito in a random bar toilet. As everything I report is my fault, I'm now sorry if anyone catches any of the following ???? In Thailand, mosquitoes are responsible for spreading dengue fever, Japanese encephalitis, lymphatic filariasis, and malaria Meanwhile, beach road bars are packed as the Bangkok week-end crowd seem to be visiting, beach road is very busy traffic
  23. You need to relax a little. A TM30 is easy to do and is free and you only need to do it if intending to go to immigration for something during your current trip. As for timing, the official rule is within 24 hours, but they officially allow up to 72 hours without applying the 1600 baht fine. In reality, they show common sense in that if you arrive Friday lunchtime they know you can't get to immigration until they open on Monday. I've even gone on a Wednesday after Friday arrival and no fine. They are happy you just do it in my opinion
