Anyone living in rural area's should be mindful of snakes. Photo attached
Well if that is so, it was a funny Cobra I saw the other day. Most definitely a poisonous snake if ever there was one. I let it go on its way, which happened to be into next doors garden. I did say to the guy about it, but he just shrugged his shoulders and said, "I not seen."

12 month bank statement
After more years than I can count, I have never been asked for bank statements. I did ask at the bank some years ago for a statement, but the bank teller insisted, statements were not necessary. I then had to explain the 12 month statement was for my benefit, not immigration.

Taxation on UK Pensions Assets in Thailand: State Pension, SIPPs, Annuities QROPS and QNUPs

Taxation on UK Pensions Assets in Thailand: State Pension, SIPPs, Annuities QROPS and QNUPs
All very straight forward but, where does a newbie stand, bringing 400 or 800K for a retirement Visa? If it is in any way taxable, then it is totally unfair!

Does Thailand actually have General Practitioner doctors in their hospitals ?
You could try Dr Ken, he has a surgery opposite the General hospital, I believe he practised in a major NHS hospital in London, before returning to Thailand. His English is excellent.

Chaikasem to be Nominated as New Thai PM at Special House Meeting
Why does Thai politics have to be so dirty and underhanded? Corruption from the very top, to the lowest of the low. A third world country, of deceit, cowardice and avarice.

International Driving Permit
When I last visited the UK, I had the IDP just in case. However, it was not required as the Thai driving license has your details in English.

At your age: Do you still take life seriously?
Maybe so, but the end of the row is not yet in sight.

At your age: Do you still take life seriously?
You mean eighty two and a half? I am in-between those numbers, so on the downward side. However, I will hang on in there for a while yet, and hopefully pass the 85 in good health and still a long road to go.

At your age: Do you still take life seriously?
Never take life too seriously. No one gets out alive anyway.

Motorbike breaks traffic rule in Khon Kaen, causing deadly accident
It is this kind of nonsensical stupidity which made me give up driving in Thailand. A number of very near misses, a clown of a baht bus driver backing into a brand new car, I decided enough was enough. I have not driven a car or a motorbike for 8 years now, and never intend to again.

Motorbike Rider Dies After Crash in Rassada, Phuket
My personal experience of being on the road is mixed. I do not drive, but use Grab cars. Mostly its male drivers, but occasionally female. Contrary to most, I find female divers are more careful and attentive, although many of the older male drives can be also. I always sit in the rear seat on the near side. I feel safer this way, as there appears to be very little chance with either male or female drivers, hitting anything on their left. None of them have any idea of the width of the vehicle they drive and always, but always leave a gap of at least half the width of their vehicle on the near side. I always wonder why. I imagine it has something to do with their peripheral vision?

How to buy SIM Card? Which network is good value for the Internet?
I bought one of these about six months ago. How can you tell what credit is remaining? A mystery to me.

ATM withdrawl limits?
A friend of mine does this. He stays for three months and the amount he brings is usually enough. As he requires Baht, he goes to SuperRich to exchange £50 notes. Not sure of the amount he exchanges each time, but it is usually enough to cover one month.

Thai Tax on UK pensions
Which was my intention to say, but obviously did not state clearly.

Thai Tax on UK pensions
At present the UK DWP pension is not taxed in the UK. It could therefore be classed as taxable income by Thailand? The new thieves of the Labour party may well change this in their up coming budget, due Oct/Nov this year.

Thai Tax on UK pensions
You are quite correct in that BobKK. It is classed as benefit. Which is why successive governments of the past 70+ years, refuse to increase them to certain countries.

Hong Kong policeman’s fatal fall from baht bus sparks safety outcry
One may believe in social equality. Putting it into practice is a whole different ball game, especially when it is supposedly practiced by governments.

Hong Kong policeman’s fatal fall from baht bus sparks safety outcry
I will take that as an insult, but what is a democrat?😁 Is that one of those American thingies?
