Kris said in an interview, "This song probably was the most directly autobiographical thing I had written. In those days I was living in a slum tenement that was torn down afterwards, but it was 25 dollars a month in a condemned building, and "Sunday Morning Coming Down" was more or less looking around me and writing about what I was doing. One time, some people broke into that place, and I had to call the police station to answer some questions about it, and the guy said, "Yeah, they really trashed the place when they went in there." But I hadn't noticed that it was any different. There were holes in the wall bigger than I was. It was quite a place, so "Sunday Morning Coming Down" is kind of more or less what I was living at that time. I guess it was depressing, I don't know, but the chorus was kind of uplifting. ... What I was really trying to do was to keep the feeling of loss and of sadness. For me at that time, it was the loss of my family and looking at a little kid swinging on a swing and his daddy pushing him. That was the feeling I wanted to get for the whole song. I think Sunday was the choice because the bars were closed in the morning and nobody was at work, so if you were alone, it was the most alone time..."

How are bereaved families coping after the Nong Bua Lamphu massacre?
seedy replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
The media uses these cases to generate revenue. That is why they will not do the right thing and let these poor families alone with their grief. They have no Honor. They have no Sympathy. They have no Compassion. They are leeches sucking on the blood of victims and their families. -
6 pages of trashing Thai workers. Most need to get out more - a LOT more. Have great mechanics, construction tradespeople, etc etc etc who do work for us. Takes a while at times, but a little looking and good help is not hard to find. Certainly no harder than in the West, where there are Cowboy contractors by the score, or did you all forget about that in your rush to denigrate. But sit at home, search on Internet Forums filled with those who have the same perspective as you have, and express surprise that you can not find quality help 555 Wear it Well

How are bereaved families coping after the Nong Bua Lamphu massacre?
seedy replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
They will carry this in their Hearts until they die - that is how people 'Cope' Waiting for the first post using the nonsensical word 'Closure' Door close, books close. If you EVER had this happen to you then realize that it will never end. The most you can Hope for is acceptance for the huge hole in your Heart. -

Bought a lot of batteries since I have been here. Tried the 'premium', maintenance free, yada yada yada Now use Thai made batteries, and at the first sign of low voltage replace them. Weekly check with a multimeter will tell you when it is starting to go. No drama, no excess cost, just easy peasy way to go.
