Eminem loathes himself? Really?? Have you ever tried writing a few sentences without using your book of right wing cliches? Like actually use grown up words that you think of yourself? What doe "self loathing Liberal" even mean?

I know we saw a few weeks ago that the Ford CEO and his CFO spent time in China driving Chinese EVs and said they were way ahead of Ford and posed an "existential threat". Now it's been revealed that he had a Xiaomi SU7 shipped to Chicago. He has been driving it for the last six months and says he "doesn't want to give it up". There is no open air walk at Asok/Sukhumvit - you are undercover/enclosed all the way. Unless you are coming out of the wrong exit there is no need to put your feet on the street anywhere. As to the other posters' comments about long walks at connections, some are. Many are very close. But realistically I think they are generally as close as they can be and the walks are not that bad. ARL Hua Mark to yellow line is probably the longest I can think of and you DO have to go down to street level for that. Maybe Makkasan to Petchaburi is a bit longer but at least you're not on the street. Some are literally right on top of each other. I always wondered why they couldn't go through to the blue line from the basement at Makkasan but I guess there is a reason (maybe the railway line or some other utilities that can't be moved?) Some of the interchanges in London, Singapore, Shanghai and Tokyo are horrendously long, way longer than anything here. The most valid criticism of "integration" here is the criminal lack of a common ticketing system, that really is a disgrace after all this time. Maybe if they do get round to implementing this flat 20 baht fare then that will finally be resolved.

If I'm not mistaken you live in PKK and rarely venture to Bangkok and when you do you drive, so don't think you are often on trains. The trains can be busy at rush hours (same as in any other country in the entire world) but outside of those limited times there is plenty of room. Even at peak rush hour on the BTS I have let one train pass but the next one is immediately behind it waiting and is half empty.

Based on what? They have already implemented similar technology on route 9 with M Flow which is more advanced than Singapore's ERP system as that requires an RFID reader in your car. M Flow requires nothing in your car but uses Automatic Licenses Plate Recognition coupled with AI and cross referencing with pictures of your car. Seamless and smart - works perfectly. It is supposed to be rolled out across all expressway networks at some point but not sure when. Pretty sure this is the exact same technology that a congestion charge system would use. So why can't Thailand introduce the technology? It already has it. Or you just fancied a bash...got it.

Obviously another AN headline reader - too much trouble to read the article otherwise you would have read that this scheme would fund a flat 20 baht fare across ALL mass transit lines. Is it only semi rich people who can afford a 20 baht train journey?

Just curious: are you guys really going out of your way to go to free BYD charging points even though they seem to be busy often? Is it really worth a journey when it only costs you 200 baht or so in electricity to charge it at home (for those without solar)? Personally I don't think I would bother. (200 baht figure is not accurate but my brain remembers it being around that).

That's cool. I was more interested in the fact that’ll between 09.00 and 22.00 they charge 8 baht per kWh, but from 22.00 to 09.00 is drops to 8 baht per kWh.

He can't anyway. 🤣 I don't think it's because they hate foreigners. Probably either: a) they don't speak English b) they don't want the hassle of doing all the necessary immigration stuff c) they have no recourse if a foreigner trashes the place and leaves the country or leaves without paying his bills.

Welcome to the UK. Agree with you on all points. Very outdated, very insecure, very very very inefficient.

I don't believe there is any other accepted method, definitely not cash. I have gone through this process many times for me and my kids over the years, I know dozens of friends who have done it several times - I have never heard of anyone having fraudulent charges made to their account. If you are not willing to trust them then your suggested method is your only option but it seems a bit extreme to me. Risk vs inconvenience. But up to you. You would think in this day and age payment could be done online, but it's the UK government and they are not known for their efficiency or service mind..
