  1. They are so unworldly. Long before this "opening" there were party/mass events. This country becomes the scare monger center of the world. Expect masks to be worn for years. The simple minded are scared and there is no real education.
  2. I have it since a while as a second SIM. It allows hotspot sharing, speed capping gives no free lunch (15 to the point). 60 min/month phone calls to all Thai mobile networks included. DTAC coverage/signal strenght is worse than AIS in my area and most others I tested. But it's good enough for the 15 Mbit/s as a backup and on the road. You can online register the SIM yourself. Was a bit strenuous (two or three attempts with uploading of ID and selfie) but in the end it worked. Otherwise you have to do at some DTAC service point. The DTAC app is useful to check usage/phone credit...
  3. With such a budget, I would book a >90 m2< suite with seaview at Sandy Spring, Soi 13. Just over 3000/night (seems breakfast not included). If their breakfast offerings are not satisfying for you, a short walk over 2nd road to Casa Pascal. If that is not good enough I am finished...
  4. I am using Khon Kaen. But they are also fairly easy to handle. I am thinking of visiting the office beforehand and talk to first level boss. Lady who signs retirement extensions etc.
  5. Similar for me to watch at the neighbor. Another brat offloaded at the grandparents. If he doesn't get what he wants in an instant he will hammer/beat his grandmother. Shouting, crying, kicking dogs for no reason. I fear to see this Somchai grow up. I am happy that we only have girls in the family.
  6. The problem is that I don't believe it. Have to wait until end of month to check. Will be back.
  7. Your lawyer friend does not work for/with "eastern" just by chance?
  8. For those published on websites/businesses/offices. Not for arbitrary private addresses.
  9. That's why I wrote that the poster can simply use his home address in Thailand (which he obviously has).
  10. Not professional but quite typical. Website created once and no one hired to update. And simply write address on the website is useless anyway. Who except the postman finds 488/72 Moo 12, Nongprue (old address I assume)? Most up-to-date is often in Facebook.
  11. Seems like. Their Facebook post from April 26 says that the office is in Jomtien Soi 5, opposite immigration office (at View Talay 3 residence). https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=1578388745890755
  12. You should see this note at the Thai pass application: (click for full size view) It's perfectly OK if you enter your home address in Thailand.
  13. I had to doublecheck that this is not a thread from months ago. Did I have a time skip What hotel reservation? Quarantine? Covid test? If you are fully vaccinated, all you need for the Thai pass application is the Covid insurance (10000 USD coverage) and your vax certificate uploaded. No tests pre departure, no test after arrival, no hotel reservation. You arrive, your documents and QR are checked and you are free to go where you want. Your decision to relax in Bangkok or continue north.
  14. I am sceptic. I searched about *731 and what I find, says "*731*1#" turns off paid SMS subscriptions ? Sounds like a different topic? Some three months ago I had the similar problem not receiving an SMS from a German bank. Cost me a lot of trouble with activating their safety feature on a new mobile phone (in the end had a letter to be sent).
  15. Seen this some years ago in Pattaya. Checked the vehicle and it was from the remand prison (not from regular prison).
  16. Tourism authority should add some pictures like that to their campaign.
  17. 1000 Baht is about 22 liters of 95. How big is your tank? Not unusual that they squeeze in to the next 100. I rarely ask for "tem tang" (fill up) because I hate when they spill fuel. Most always I say an amount like 800, 1000 or so depending on fuel gauge reading.
  18. Isn't there a way to look up the status on the Thai pass website. Suggest to move this to the visa forum.
  19. That is him and yes he's not the ever smiling/grinning character
  20. Would you recognize him in this outfit? (member of the board of directors of an insurance company?) More likely here: (older picture from 2019 before becoming immigration chief)
  21. Have fun with the long weekend starting tommorow
  22. Still moderate. And the poorest use charcoal anyway. Let's hope the gas price will not rise like in Europe. 100% easily.
  23. And you will hardly notice. Done with infrared camera, same like entering the airport.
  24. Abolished only for Thai citizens. Still needed for foreigners though simplified and quickly issued. The hurdle is the Covid insurance. I am not to well informed about it, I think you have to purchase 30 day coverage? There is a number of threads/posts about it.
