  1. Villa, BigC, TOPS at Central and Cheese2MeatYou
  2. The usual game: he is 59 years old and so will serve for just one year! His nickname is "den" (เด่น), the outstanding/excellent (from khaosod.co.th)
  3. Let the know betters learn by trying. Not worth arguing.
  4. I assume you have Windows running? What happens if you press <Alt>+<Shift>? Does it show a "popup" for language setting? Is there a language indicator on the right side of the task bar?
  5. Drive to the nearest inspection shop and let them handle to whole stuff (test, PRB, tax payment/sticker). No riding around for insurance and DLT for tax/sticker. You can use a taxi to pick up the paperwork, blue book and sticker at the test station if you want to minimize any risk. Usually next day.
  6. Can't judge about Bangkok but in Pattaya BOLT is the app to use. And who depends on credit cards to pay xxx Baht for a taxi.

    Udon review

Can't wait for more comprehensive trip reports.
  8. Haven't the land border exempt entries been restricted to two per calendar year? You will run into problems staying in Thailand year round with this method. A thing of the past.
  9. Soi Buakhao towards South Pattaya rd. just before Action Street. "Coin Laundry". Quite new. Easy 400m from Soi Chaiyaphoon with the Baht bus. https://goo.gl/maps/LFjP37UeKpKAxMFX6
  10. Some quite naive ideas here like motocycle guys. Do you really believe they will lift and carry it manually up 30 floors with some straps around the shoulder or so? The Hulk? At least you need proper carts/tools to "sledge" the things up. The photo is for the most primitive thing. Pros in the west have motorized "sledges" e.g. Also you need to check how the parts are packed/protected (cardbox, foam etc.)? Or there is stuff needed to wrap carefully before loading on a cart or the like. You need people who know their job and don't expect it being too cheap.
  11. Yes. Simply open the site, mark some text and try a right click. It's blocked. So a spell check can't work the usual way. Bet there are cracks for that? But I never researched.
  12. Some posters seem to have no idea how immigration interviews can go at other countries. Don't want to troll with naming/shaming.
  13. Another wasted life.. Speeding, trying to overtake a car on the left. Motorway with bike? What more do you need to know. More than a 100 km/h on a 125 ccm.
  14. Seems Bangkok Bank works a bit different. In the end I use the app to scan a QR code that is displayed on the ATM screen. After that the money is spit out. Can't remember having entered a number on the ATM. Maybe there is alternative similar to the above described SCB but I haven't checked. I use it occasionally because there is no fee nationwide. As I am always online since a while I should consider using it regularly?
  15. Exactly. The best path for us is Makro first and then what you don't find there look at Lotus. Unfortunately I will have to do the 200 or 240 km roundtrip to Khon Kaen or Udon (better) to get the real goodies (once a month or so).
  16. Serious question? Millions (of Thais) buy at Lotus, Lotus Express etc. It can be empty mid to end month when pockets are empty. And of course it depends on the local competition. Since a while it's been swallowed by the mega tycoon clan (7/11, Makro, Lotus etc.). And what I observe here is a cleanup of the selection. Throwing out low sales stuff. Among that a lot of "farang"/exotic stuff. Much to my displeasure. Gets more and more unattractive. BigC Khon Kaen often dead as a dodo. And selection for "us" very poor. Makro is never that empty as Lotus or BigC.
  17. 7 years. I looked up a couple of sites in Thai. One from an insurance company gives an example. Google translate: All other observances need "explanation". https://www.hugsinsurance.com/article/annual-vehicle-inspection
  18. Agree. A car from 2016 completes it's 6th year now. Due for test next year 2023. 7th birthday present ????
  19. Real nice. I used the chance to visit Ko Samui in 2020 during deep COVID times. That was a privilege. Alone on a mile long beach in the morning looking over to Ko Pangnan. I am afraid another visit would cost me much more. Only the greedy can welcome the idea of a building a sea bridge. I bet it will spoil the island. Stinking tour buses on day trips and all that.
  20. Learned something new. Did I overlook the signs? Every overpass forbidden?
  21. Do you have a nonstop flight? Thai Air.
  22. Welcome to the club And if another cowboy is hit by lightning out in the open fields and having hold a mobile phone there is more proof.
  23. I don't know what is left of Covid/vaccination requirements. What is your vaccination status? Nothing required for Belgium: https://www.dfa.ie/travel/travel-advice/a-z-list-of-countries/belgium/
  24. So true for Thailand. No thoughts given as all tradition thrown overboard. Bare glass and concrete fronts. No proper roof ventilation etc.etc.
