  1. I had used Bangkok Bank for years with the long stay option. I plan to change to Kasikorn from November. So I did a test transfer with general expense (or how it is called in Englisch). Arrived in seconds and on the account statement (Thai language) it is clearly shown as foreign transaction. On the book it is only shown as TRN (transfer no book?). Hope that will not change and I will not miss the long stay option.
  2. Is it only me? Extremely slow to submit post. Took a minute to open the support forum.
  3. In that the NOK is not much different from other countries. Baht gained a lot against USD, EUR, GPB .... Have lost oversight on the misc threads about it (one from me ). NOK is a bit worse with about -5.5% since July, USD -4% (rough numbers).
  4. That's how an entry in the statement for a foreign transfer at KBank looks like. Both marked in red say foreign/abroad transfer/money transaction.
  5. Do you have internet banking with Kasikorn? Go there and order statements for download in Thai language and see what they show. Otherwise you have to go to the branch and order statements on the spot for 200 Baht. The problem might be - depending on your situation - that statements are issued no more than one year back. Don't know whether you can get back longer for cost and potential waiting time. For immigration I would take care to get statements from the branch with stamps and signature.
  6. I just responded to your post in a revived older thread. Becomes a bit chaotic. Hope you read there. Will not repeat the whole stuff.
  7. Just stumbled upon this revived thread. I recently had started one about WISE and Kasikorn. 1) Bangkok Bank: for many years I transfer from WISE to Bangkok Bank using funds for long term stay as a purpose. Always shown as FTT in the book and much better as international funds transfer in the account statements, 2) Kasikorn Bank: I recently did a test from WISE to Kasikorn using general living expense as purpose. It arrives in seconds. The book does NOT show a FTT or the like but just as TRN (transfer no book). Account statement in English language shows "Trade Finance Deposit". Not very obvious. BUT: statement in Thai language clearly labels it as a foreign transaction. Credit goes to @Upnotover See here;
  8. Had two injections at the Ratchaphruek hospital in Khon Kaen (May 27th and August 7th). Each 6300 Baht. There is older thread from October 2023 about it. Some pricing and availability might be outdated: https://aseannow.com/topic/1309662-shingrix-shingles-vaccine-available-in-thailand-now/
  9. I appreciate your contribution but really: ALL major currencies have lost.
  10. Is there light on the horizon? The graphs show a slight increase since the weekend.
  11. Most currencies lost significantly to THB (Baht strength). Multiple threads disussing reasons. AUD (OZ) may not be the biggest looser but 2.67% in a month is significant. What was the last pension rise in percent? USD lost almost 4% in a month.
  12. Misleading headline. They don't steal cars but steal valuables from the cars. Amateurs 🤣 Real high tech pros use sophisticated devices to read and forward "fob" signals for keyless go cars and drive away with the car.
  13. Seems not? Quite cheeky to report at police while in Jomtien a DJ without WP is handcuffed.
  14. 5 to 10 min at any local (roadside) clinic. My least concern. Remarkable what "agents" can do 🤣 A role model for the level of corruption in this country. An 80 year old colorblind friend in Jomtien had the agent with him in the room to help with color test. Some ear plug did wonders 🤣
  15. Last time M6 was still(!) opened only for a limited lenght. It's nice to have but from Nana to Korat it's just a small relief. Not sure whether I will see it open in my lifetime from Bang Pa-In to Korat. Unbelievably slow development. Must be ridden by corruption to the max.
  16. Nana to Korat is more than one road. Guess you refer to highway 1 to Saraburi. A terrible stretch plagued with extraordinary heavy truck traffic. Going through some of the most ugly sceneries you can imagine. I avoid it when possible. Highway 2 from Saraburi to Korat? Just "normal" Thai style in my opinion. If you want to experience ruthless aggressive driving take M9. High speed luxury car racers zig zagging like mad. Changing lanes is an adventure.
  17. Correct but the OP was about "always" available
  18. About 7 hours from my place. And the car rests at the hotel parking for most of the time.
  19. Guess you are aware about the chaos on (long) weekends? People reported up to one hour to get OUT of the mess. I would drive there on weekends only if there is an essential need. When in Pattaya I mostly get around on the motorbike. And the motorbike parking is a story to its own. Overcrowded even on normal weekdays in the afternoon. My personal experiences with car to Central are from Udon Thani and Khon Kaen. Udon Central parking on a weekend. Absolute No-Go for me.
  20. Attached is is the form as an image. Print it and take it to any clinic/hospital. Usually they will have their own copy. You will have to sign it too as a self declaration being free of mental/epilepsy problems.
  21. Since February 2022 a med certificate is required for every DL extension at every office. Every licensed (clinic) should have the required form (standardized). You don't bring any form for that. If she/he does not understand "driving license" go on to the next. No need to ask at DLT.
  22. Half blind racer crashes into barriers. Not realizing before the impact. You can't make that up.
  23. That's the image that WU might suffer from. But looks like they have developed. And cash to cash is likely an expensive service. Popular with African romance scammers 😁
  24. What does the registration process at WU include? It was always a bit of problem to provide an acceptable proof of my address in Thailand. May use a letter from pension office from July.
