  1. Thanks for reminding. Can cause some extra influx and road carnival etc. Many "Chinese" mom&pop shops closed for two/three days.
  2. As written elections are on Sat Feb 1. End 5 PM. So the weekend is saved 😁
  3. Hmm Maybe. Will try to find. And I got it wrong. Feb 1 is a Saturday of course. Stay tuned 😁
  4. Local elections (PAO?) are nationwide on Sunday Feb 1. So from Saturday Jan 31, 6 PM there is alc ban officially. Not quite sure but I thinks it ends 24h later, Sunday 6 PM.
  5. That was a post from 2018. But Thai made Viagra called "Sidegra" is about 200 for four tablets (100 mg) at selected pharmacies. (e.g. opposite Cheap Charlies on Soi Buakhao) For Cialis (20 mg) stuff I have no idea about current availability.
  6. That's our expected heavy rain:
  7. Rules will be strictly followed
  8. Careless crazy maneuver by the car driver just to catch the petrol station. Can't believe that this driver has much experience with driving in Thailand. When driving in the center lane driver could still see that motorcycles are on the left shoulder (100% normal like it or not) Carelessness can happen but trying to do a runner tells me that the driver is not only careless but has a criminal mind. Stupid to assume he can hide on the island.
  9. You can only hope that the fancy brands manufactured in China are under close inspection for potential "add-ons".
  10. 2nd week of cold mornings. 12 C today. About enough! Only slight improvement forecast for the whole week. Need to go far south for mild temperatures.
  11. Just agree. Not shown any home country license since 2011 at DLT.
  12. Some lucky people escaped death. At least one on motorbike.

    Soil Bukhao

If you refer to Soi Buakhao (a half proper transcript) ? then very mistaken. Bua = Lotus Khao = White White lotus alley And as so often it's just a nickname. Road signs just show Soi 22 (of South Pattaya rd). And now I am confused as on the other end it's Soi 13 of Pattaya Klang? So in official terms there is no single Soi Buakhao?

Gridlocks are the norm on a Saturday. A Baht creeper every 50 m doesn't make it better. India men in lengthy discussion with driver about Pattaya attractions and possible fare reduction also no good The one ways for Soi Diana (13) and Soi Honey (11) didn't help much.
  15. Fines for reckless driving. And what about the heavy intoxicated state? Usually means arrest until court appearance and much higher fines. Bail out from arrest until court for 30000 Baht or so. (from a first hand report)
  16. Yes and if they want bring brother and other relatives(?) to attend cremation. Won't cost 35k.
  17. Stop all burning and Bangkok would still be polluted to hazardous levels. Bad weather pattern, cold, little wind and the exhaust fumes will lay like a blanket. It's called smog. Read about the deadly London smog desaster of 1952 and know what can happen. At the same time they come up with the idea to make Diesel trucks (with inferior filtering) even more affordable with less sales tax, tax preference for Diesel fuel. Genius.
  18. If only they would finish it before I make an exit. Lot of concrete is probably there for 10 years(?) now.
  19. Yep. That's what I use occasionally. Actually a smaller bottle. Cut the tip wide enough for the nose. I try to use de-congesting nasal spray as rarely as possible, Have sinusitis since ages.
  20. I collected some up to date info from a Thai language website. To answer questions that you did not ask : there is no more need to do a police report (as in the past). Can go to the DLT office directly. No tests to undergo. New license card will have same expiry date as the lost one. Thai International driving permit: can't be wrong to have it with you although it's not needed for the process. Passport photos make no sense. Picture taken at DLT office as usual before printing new license card. Of course you have to take your passport and do copies of main page, visa, permission to stay. Two things I can't answer for sure: New residence certificate needed? (TM30 OK? Can also vary by office) Medical certificate necessary? I would get one, 100 to 200 Baht or so at any roadside clinic, valid for 30 days (DON'T go to fancy hospitals). If documents complete it's done in a single visit. Whether or not an appointment is needed/required depends on office. (I could just walk in and as no tests etc needed this might work at most offices)
  21. Why pay so much? "Powerful" tablets on Shopee for 380 Baht One from the famous "SANSUMG" (logo) for only 1790.
  22. They do. Never been charged by Bangkok Bank for currency exchange on WISE transfer. Otherwise you have the 0.25% fee from the Thai bank (min 200, max 500 Baht). Don't be fooled by first time specials. Don't be fooled by low/zero fees before checking the exchange rates.
  23. As if stronger winds from the east hit a wall:
  24. Easy to beat. But 500??? Has a stinky sugar cane truck blown into the sensor? The whole country up north is heavily affected. Worse than I remember from the past. It maybe worsened by the current cold spell maybe combined with weak winds.
  25. Much likely so. At least his type of full beard points to.
