Thailand Aims to Become Leading Aviation Hub in Asia
KhunBENQ replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
180 million by 2025. That is next year! What are they dreaming? Not even the Chinese are that quick in construction. Fits all very well with some headline I saw about being 3+ hours ahead at the airport (once again). What drugs are these planners on? -
What is the difference between 95 and 97 petrol?

@KhunLA was faster. I remember seeing the 97 sign at Bangchak stations. Not available at PTT. -
Recycled SIM Card Number Sparks a Year-Long Ordeal
KhunBENQ replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Maybe operators become short of numbers. Short like Bangkok car sign plates 😁 (what will happen after prefix 9). Just look at the policy of selling internet SIM cards often thrown away after a year. Shops are full with preconfigured SIM cards for internet from all operators. You can buy a 200 Baht SIM card for a month (test) and if you are not satisfied just throw it in the bin. -

Other Thai news sources have at least photos that make clear it is Royal Garden. But seems here even that is too much. -
Why True Fiber is so slow connecting abroad?
KhunBENQ replied to artotle's topic in IT and Computers
Interesting observation today with AIS mobile and public WiFi. In the car I could not listen to my usual radio streams (Germany, Switzerland), more blackouts than content. Test to that Helsinki location gave 1.9 Mbit/s! On the way back I used a US VPN server and all smooth with the radio. Back home at 3BB fiber the Helsinki test gives down/up of 9/61 (inverse again). Quite meager and much worse than yesterday. I can not draw a clear conclusion from all that. No updated news about the cable (SEA-ME-WE5). "end of may" was expected. -
Why True Fiber is so slow connecting abroad?
KhunBENQ replied to artotle's topic in IT and Computers
It is peak hour for internet use now (18:30 Thai time) and voila! The speed test to Helsinki that gave 86/63 in the early afternoon now gives: 16/64 Not catastrophic but with the often reported anomaly of download being slower than upload. AND: some youtube video stuck right now. Time to VPN. -
E10 is sold as "Gasohol 95" which should answer your question. 10% ethanol, 95 octane. Where do you see "E10" on the signs? I am not aware that any popular scooter or motorbike produced in Thailand would not run on Gasohol 95. Can't tell whether your model is happy with Gasohol 91 (91 octane, 10% ethanol). E20 is not specified/recommended for most motorbikes. What does the sign at the filler cap say? Pure petrol (benzene) without ethanol is quite rare nowadays only at major filling stations. Some historic/vintage models seem to depend on.

Why True Fiber is so slow connecting abroad?

"testmy.net" to Frankfurt (no Helsinki) with and without VPN. There is more to the story than the problem with the undersea cable. -

Why True Fiber is so slow connecting abroad?
KhunBENQ replied to artotle's topic in IT and Computers
Maybe it is. Just did a test to the same server with my 3BB fiber. Of course there is still no news about completion of the undersea cable works. But 0.13 download is exception. Just bad luck with True? -
Maybe overall but look at beach rd. Most Sois one way. Is there an exception?

Soi Honey is an extreme case. If two big vehicles meet it's a spectacle. Such a narrow path in a busy area should have never been a two way. Soi Diana was not that bad in the past. But since they build this aesthetic masterpiece of a wall bordering The Edge condo it has become really bad. Again bigger vehicles can hardly pass there.

That's interesting and in line with my suspicion. Better keep the money on their account than on mine or the manufacturer's account. So saying I won't pay before the sign plates are ready will not work. Where is the factory outlet

That's a real life story. I have the insurance policy and now a copy of the paid invoice. Still don't feel too good doing distant travel. May even go on my old car which is well maintained (just had 160 tkm service). But not nice to have 700k dead capital in the garage? On a phone call today it was estimated that the proper sign plates would take four weeks. Again somewhat shady. A mate had a "request for waiver" letter to "all officials" from Nissan. The letter has the details about the purchase and registration being done by the dealer.

FIFA President Arrives in Bangkok for 74th Congress

Probably the most corrupt sports organization meets in Thailand. That fits to the atmosphere. Infantino from the same mountainous Swiss canton as his predecessor Blatter who is banned from the organization for proven cases of corruption. Infantino arrogant and corrupt like his predecessor in my opinion. -
That's what I will do tomorrow. Insist on expedited registration. In the meantime I get accustomed to Thai style and wait for the fine to come or not. As long as insurance is OK I don't loose sleep.

I had red plates and logbook on my first car 12 years ago. And that is WHY I started the thread. No need to play clever dick. If you read trough the thread you see that the situation is not unusual.
