  1. Seems you don't have too much experience with online banking here? For domestic transfers I will see name and account number before confirming. And then it's credited in an instant. Invalid account number will result in an error message. In SEPA (Europe) one wrong digit and the money is gone. No name matching at all. The endless IBAN starts with a two character country code. Good luck if you sent money to "BG....................". Bulgaria. Won't be seen again. Popular destination for scammers.
  2. Lazada has quite a choice of instant decaf. But as I have zero knowledge about prices I can't tell what is cheap. The local "Moccona Blue" was OK as a grounded coffee until it vanished from the shelves. Moccona Instant decaf 100gr 299 B.
  3. I am happy with Hillkoff whole beans (Arabica, French roast). 260 B for 500 gr. In former times I bough Casino brand (BigC) grounded. Has about doubled over the years. Decaff seems an extra expensive thing here. More exotic than all the rest?
  4. And the transfer was immediate? No more cancel option available at WISE? Hope for the best that the account number does not exist. In this case the money is stuck at some bank in Thailand and can be refunded. Expect a significant loss for fess and exchanges rates back etc. Can tell for the other case (number exists). But WISE website writes about "wrong person" not wrong account number. So maybe there is a plausibility check? Some 20 years ago I had this with a SWIFT transfer of 2000 Euro, lost 200. Guess it will not be THAT bad with WISE. https://wise.com/help/articles/2448406/i-got-my-recipients-bank-details-wrong?origin=related-article-2978032 https://wise.com/help/articles/2932667/i-spelt-my-recipients-name-wrong?origin=related-article-2978032 https://wise.com/help/articles/2978032/i-sent-money-to-the-wrong-person
  5. Behind the steering wheel. Chan Tours operates as far as Nakhon Phanom. That's about 865 km (537 miles). More than 13:30 hours on an overland bus is my estimation. Route "827" is Nakhon Phanom to Rayong. If they go through Pattaya it adds more mileage. So going on road 331 makes perfect sense. Maybe up to 15 hour trip.
  6. Must have been overlooked. But yes the wording changed some years ago as it confused many. The "until" stands for the last day you can utilize the visa and get 60 days permission to stay as you describe.
  7. It's one of the most erroneous translations for what is colloquially known as a "Baht bus". "double-decker cooperative minibus" Technically in Thai it's a "song taeo", a two row/ bench minibus aka rebuild pickup. How the hell can such misleading translations make it to the news?? So it's nothing than the millionth pick pocketing Kathoey on a Baht bus.
  8. Can't be repeated often enough. 142 mm in a DAY!! What do you expect but disruption? Average YEARLY rainfall in eastern Germany about 500 mm.
  9. Deleted It was already proposed to upload to some video platform. I would stick to YouTube. 13 seconds should be like 5 MB in high quality.
  10. For that reason I was reliefed that he was kicked aside.
  11. Again a boss for a year. Making sure that nothing changes.
  12. If end of September there is no stack of flooding videos from Pattaya then something is wrong
  13. Hope I picked the correct diagram. Deviation of rainfall from average normal (1 Jan to 24 Sep). (http://climate.tmd.go.th/gge/Gra_AccumRain.pdf)
  14. The year is not over, rainy season until end of October. But in total I think the amount of rain is still behind average. We now had plenty of rain but part of the crop (rice) has already died (for those don't have pumps etc.). Only few areas have reached a normal level. But not nearly as bad as the terrible drought 2014.
  15. As writte above: checked Advice online and they have a bunch of 500 GB to 1 TB external SSDs. There was a lot of news about Sandisk (Extreme) having problems with their SSDs failing quickly. I still stick to HDDs for external backup.
  16. Nicely said. It's pure utter chaos. Few follow the "dictionary" (RTGS). Most give in to the English dominated spelling. Jomtien sounds completely different when read by non English. And who has ever seen Chom Thian by the rules? And "my girlfriend Porn" will always resurface as a joke while the joke is the stupid "r" in Porn. It's a fun topic until you try to find a location on a map/GPS by its English spelling. And the idea of a near correct pronounciation by these transcripts is hopeless. I bet 9 out of 10 expats don't come anywhere close to a correct pronounciation of Pattaya.
  17. My first visit was in 2004 and I can't remember anything but one way. I've seen some decades old videos from the late 80s or so when there was both way traffic. What I seem to have missed: there were some exceptional days with two ways for special events?
  18. Yes, open the thread that I linked. There are other sources too.
  19. Sounds like the guy who passed away in Dec 2022? Darren? Not sure but I think the agency still operates. https://aseannow.com/topic/1280163-key-visa-pattaya/
  20. Stop and change plane in Dubai DXB (United Arab Emirates). If I got your question right. There is a flight departing 21:25 (9:25 PM), arriving 8:50 AM next day (New York 11 hours after Bangkok time). Stopover duration 2 hours. Total time 22h 25min. BKK to DXB flight time 6:25 hours (Boeing 777). DXB to JFK 14 hours! (Airbus A380). Other flight departs at 3:30 AM. Would kill me to hang around most of the night waiting for departure.
  21. 30 days in Phuket with family! Wow, that must be upper class tourists from a country with a 10000 USD GDP per capita
