  1. Similar to a mate who will visit KK office next week and hopes to get an explanation. He had successful reports in the past until some time it started to reject every attempt.
  2. In my picture the pixelated area at "SIGNATURE" shows title and name of a Khon Kaen immigration officer. Not in the picture: on top at "TITLE" it shows title, name and office (Khon Kaen). Title and name of the (female) officer, Khon Kaen immigration office (red underline):
  3. So I am not alone with this observation. 90 days added. And not a first time exception.
  4. Beloved uncle Tu had enough time to do it right. Still dreaming about no flood in a country where daily rainfall can exceed a months rainfall in European countries in a flat low lying concrete sealed city. It's just a question of how long it takes to pump it to the sea.
  5. How much time does he have from scheduled arrival to departure? Arrival time? Will give an idea whether it is really tight. The walk from international exit to domestic check in is the least problem compared to queues at immigration, check in at Thaismile. Economy? After check in there is a usually moderate queue to identity check for domestic. Security check is close to the the domestic gate. Be prepared for total three(!) identity checks (passport and boarding card always at hand). Walk to the domestic gate can be much longer than walk from international to domestic check in. Walkways help.
  6. And slowly protest arises. "Meanwhile, users of petrol and ethanol-blended fuels expressed discontent"
  7. I get a bit tired to comment in detail on another thread about this bloody nonsense policy. But "easing public burden" is yet another highlight. Save 2 Baht here and pay 5 Baht more at the fresh market/supermarket/food stall/court.
  8. Even at the relaxed Khon Kaen office I was reminded last year to update the bank book SAME DAY (was from previous day as all the years before). The letter can be from one or two days before. A mate did his extension last Wednesday with letter from Monday and book update same day. But as usual: depends on office/mood of (new) boss etc.

    tap water

Costs 12 Baht here and nothing but this used for cooking, coffee/tea etc. Never would I try tap water wherever it is. In Khon Kaen city it is highly chlorinated. Nice smell. Don't know about Pattaya for sure. For drinking: never.
  10. Yes and WISE follows on the minute. 38.718 for the EUR right now.
  11. One day changes (11:28 AM): USD +1.43% EUR +1.38% CHF +1.39% GBP +1.50% CAD +1.62% AUD +1.67% NZD +1.76%
  12. Please accept: it's not just a USD move!. It's definitely a Baht weakness. EUR, GBP, CHF, CAD, AUD, NZD all up. The recent EUR interest rise of 0.25 did nothing!
  13. Too steep for sleepy banks ???? but third update already at 9:50. Unusual.
  14. And it goes on. EUR/THB at 38.72 with a steep incline.
  15. Not being asked but I use: xe.com What you see are currency market rates not what you get at the exchange boot or with a (swift) transfer. But all rates are derived from that.
  16. 0.35 Baht/unit at the lowest scale. That's about 7%.
  17. Today I read about the worldwide shortage of Diesel fuel (couple of reasons) pushing prices up. Fits perfect. Beware of tax man! (where will all the money for the benefits come from). A meaningful measure would be to subsidise the transport business depending on Diesel but not the empty pickup trunks rushing to work/office/shopping.
  18. Chaiyaphum to Phuket? Current governor also came from Chaiyaphum. I wonder how officials can do effective work in a one year promotion carousel.
  19. Seems close to 900'000 until July is enough Chinese about 1.8 million and they never get enough of them.
  20. Now speculate what the special attraction for the Kazakhstani is. Due to TAT statistics about 100'000 in the first seven months from a 19 million country with a GDP of about 10000 USD/capita. Way more travelers than from all other neighboring countries except Russia.
