E-Z Retirement Extension - Jomtien
KhunBENQ replied to Skeptic7's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Much more like other offices Jomtien crowds change with tourism season. Now approaching deepest off season, not many 30 day extensions. Snowbirds long gone. Other expats back to home country for summer holiday/ family visit. Report back in January. I remember very well the reports and pictures of the crowds hanging outside in the sun for hours. Even in the provinces it seems extraordinary quiet (read a thread about Phetchabun and remarks about other offices). -
WISE - Any Questions Asked
KhunBENQ replied to Neeranam's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
As above. It still seems true that higher amounts can only be transferred to SCB, Kasikorn and Bangkok Bank. Notice from WISE: -
5% drop is very optimistic. Wouldn't be catastrophic. I remember the terrible 2014 which was much worse. It was a year when I started to think how much longer can you stay here. Just reassured myself: 2014 the worst drought in 50 years in the northeast. When I moved to Thailand in 2011 it was the biggest flood disaster in 50 or more years. Rain is so unreliable.

Crowds at Immigration today
KhunBENQ replied to Denim's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Only concern: they might close down one or the other immigration office due to lack of foreigners. Khon Kaen likely not as it also is headquarter region 4(?). Before Phetachbun office opened a mate had to drive 200 km oneway to ? (forgot). -
Speeding motorbike hits parked car, rider severely injured
KhunBENQ replied to webfact's topic in Isaan News
A rare occasion: an everyday motorbike madness is reported from Isaan. Usually such news will be worth only in Pattaya/Phuket and the like. -
That would explain the boiling sound... Never would I use this heater before being checked by a technician. As recommended: replace ASAP. Could then check the thing at a shop.

Sometimes one can't believe how careless people are. If the oil pressure lamp at the car is on will they cover it with tape?

This valve had been attached to the inlet of the heater? It is a 6kW heater. Quite powerful type. Was it recommend to have such a valve attached? I would think that the 6 kW heater needs all water pressure/flow available. From the debris can you check whether the filters were clogged? Why the safety breaker (ELCB) triggered is unclear to me but quite alarming. Potential hazard.

Pattaya to Open Dongtan Beach Road to Traffic 24-hours a Day
KhunBENQ replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
All weekend clogged and filled with exhaust fume. They are braindead. What effort is it with a car going uphill to Prathumnak and then down the Soi? -
Pattaya to Open Dongtan Beach Road to Traffic 24-hours a Day
KhunBENQ replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
Stupid as can be. The exact opposite of the world class beach resort they dream of. -

Oh yes, it's a mess. I changed the resin on our Mazuma. Wish I knew before what to expect and might have taken care that the "slime" doesn't run free. The outlet is just a hand breadth over the ground.

Power Worker Who Shrugged Off Wife’s Hunch Electrocuted To Death
KhunBENQ replied to webfact's topic in Central Thailand News
You would really expect from PEA workers that they have proper safety equipment like protecting gloves. It was not Somchai at his garage.
