  1. You seem to refer to a one year extension (not visa). And the renewal date keeps the same by re-entering with the permit. So in March the usual procedure for extension.
  2. A fairly recent thread about re-entry at DMK:
  3. Bangkok Bank, Kasikorn and SCB that I use (don't know the whole list). Kasikorn has the easiest/most convenient procedure, followed by Bangkok Bank. SCB is a bit annoying having to enter your registered phone number AND the code sent.
  4. Last Friday initiated a 2k Euro transfer, 76k Baht will be on my account (same name) today. Same routine procedure since years. Done from the app and no facial scan.
  5. Just seen a report that the driver will be prosecuted for driving an overloaded vehicle (among other).
  6. 1) seems that I visited the only hotel in Thailand that very carefully checks for visa/extension and properly registers guest with immigration. 2) my motorcycle rent always does a picture of my passport. Why the fuss with paper copy? 3) hotel will be interested in your ID in case you do the runner without paying or devastating the room. Only exception are those shorttime rents 😙
  7. Such damage with a Honda Wave, one of the most basic small bikes! Throttle to the max.
  8. Do you know what the word "special" could mean?
  9. Can only be considered if there was special signage warning about maximum weight?
  10. "Heng explained that the brake failed, and he decided to accelerate and turn the vehicle to avoid blocking the road, which ultimately resulted in the vehicle overturning. The recurring brake issue, despite several repair attempts, finally led to this accident, reported KhaoSod." Leaves me without words.
  11. Finished! 👍 In a way I miss the blue banner.😊
  12. Is it a local thing? Got plenty last week in Khon Kaen. Handed one yesterday in Pattaya and I think it was valued. From observing I think you can also donate the stamps for some charity by fixing/glueing them to a board in the shop?
  13. You mean the "pink card"?? Absolutely worthless for border crossing.
  14. Oh yes. The first attempts with Bangkok Bank facial were quite terrible. But they quickly updated and simplified. Since then it is OK to use.
  15. Well, for SCB I learned it the hard way that I couldn't lift the 50k limit. So this is why I went to the branch three times in total (sometime in June, sometime in July and then 24th of August). Resulting message I got (incl that strange typo/mishap):
  16. They can get a "border pass" before crossing Thai border. Every Thai near the border will know where the office is to get one. Cost 100? Baht. For sure: it allows to stay for three days/two nights only. Always disputed: the border pass restricts the areas (near border) where they are allowed to roam. I don't have a reference document for that but quite sure it's true. For free travel all over Laos they should have a passport. Own experience is quite long ago and we just moved to Vientiane from Nong Khai. One day trip.
  17. Maybe someone with KTB experience comes to the thread? What I can tell you: SCB is not capable to install facial scan for foreigners. But after a lenghty call to support at Bangkok (from the branch) I got a waiver (had to confirm somehow) and can now control limits without facial scan. That was about two months(?) ago. If the staff at your branch is too ignorant then your best chance would be a call to the central support. I tried to find up-to-date information here in the forum about KTB to no avail.
  18. Please not another thread on this subtle extra clicks.
  19. Yes for a typical holiday stay just take the necessary amount for personal use. For those who stay longtime in Thailand I suggest to order online. iHerb is a company much recommended as mentioned in this thread.
  20. Creating a run on Gasoline 91? A fuel abolished in most of Europe since over a decade. If only I had words for that. Years ago they had the plan to abolish it here too, just makes extra cost in separate production/logistics at the refineries and pumps. Plan postponed, postponed, postponed... Until now the price difference to Gasohol 95 was marginal. Motorbike taxi riders will love it For most two wheelers and lawn movers it's sufficient.
  21. Usual low cost airlines illusion to get on top of ticket search. And who believes in 5$ flights should have a legal guardian.
  22. Yep, 12 Baht for a month for AIS (10 Baht credit, 2 Baht fee) at the little orange machines. 12*12 = 144. 20 Baht for a month at AIS self service machines (20 Baht credit, no fee). At 7/11 counter there is no AIS topup possible since many years. Rival company thrown out, True featured from the tycoon empire. I think DTAC has an explicit extension fee?
  23. If you really want to know whether you have a vitamin deficit you can have it tested. As far as I remember quite costly though.
  24. Give an example what you don't get here (disregarding the price).
  25. If you want to experience go to TOPS and look at prices for most basic stuff like magnesium, calcium and the like. It's stunning. You could pay thousands per month if you rely on that. Recently ordered calcium/magnesium/zinc combined and lycopene from iherb. Never had any problems with shipping in reasonable amounts. Additionally a moderately dosed local multivitamin (Wiitop). Will not overdose on vitamin D. A dangerous trend currently. Have enough sun.
