Pattaya is always a flu pit except for maybe the permanent expats who probably eventually acquire enough immunity to remain mostly free of it.

No, each strain of flue is different, just like colds. Which is why they come out with a new vaccine every year.

That concerns me a lot. Is flu more serious for children now than previously?

No one got immunised for flue when I was a child and there was never an epidemic of deaths, that I remember, certainly not among children.

I'm sure over immunising the population is breeding a weakness into society. I was deliberately infected with measles to get it over with, now they immunise.

Seems to me that humanity is aiding and abetting Gaia in her next culling of the human race. Last one was the "Spanish" flue. Killed more people than WW1.

Now we are breeding diseases immune to antibiotics from overuse of them.

Future isn't looking good, IMO.

I had some sort of flu in April. Maybe same virus ?

Friend tells me, in son's class / school a bunch of kids sick with flu/A. So are 2 of my friends. Normally never in bed, this time even went to BPH.  Tamiflu & IBU.  Get well soon.  MS>

I just heard that an entire class in Ekamai Int School have been affected. Several colleagues in my small office also down with influenza A

The Spanish Flu killed a 100 million people around 1918

Nothing new about flu epidemics

I think it is THE THAI NOSE PICKERS.

I have never seen a place where so many people out and out pick their nose.  No shame.

They will hide their mouth when using a toothpick. But pick the nose, go for it, wipe it anywhere.

Nothing worse then a bunch of infected boogers everywhere....
