root canal treatment

Featured Replies

I need a root canal treatment. My dentist said it is complicated because the canals cannot be seen on the x-ray. It must be done by a specialist with full equipment.

Can anybody recommend a good endodontist?

That's bad luck...I think you are going to end up at Bangkok Pattaya Hospital or Pattaya International, normally root canal removal is about 6500 plus same again for a replacement false tooth (ie Cap) although that be more since I had this done 2 years ago.

I would suggest you go for a 2nd opinion, before going to the hospitals due to price. I can say that Smile Dentist on 3rd Road, is okay etc, but most Dentists charge similiar prices.

Good luck!

Dr Warin on klang is the man to see............google Warin Pattaya

I use http://www.travel-dental.com

Had root and crown done.

No pain

Recommemded there is german dentist too.

Thai Smile Dental clinic in Jomtien. I paid 10000 in total including the crown. The root specialist work 3 days of the week , first the normal dentist will take xrays and all the examinations needed , then the specialist do all the work.

Yeah in my country 70,000 b for both.

Question though I was told German Dentist going over the hill to Jomtien was good but my friend went and said they do not use Novocain to reduce pain.

Anyone know if this is true of most dentist's here?

Get zirconium crown if u need 1

Neither Pattaya International or Pattaya Memorial do root canal any more. The dentist at PM referred me to Modern Smile on Pattaya Klang which I used last year. I thought the treatment was quite thorough. Back teeth more expensive.

Impossible to do root canal without anaesthetic. Presumably there are other options than Novocain.

An ordinary root canal can be done by any dentist but as yours is complicated you need an endodontist, basically a specialist in root canal work who sees the more difficult cases that a general dentist might lack the skill or equipment to perform. Think special microscopes and files.

Try calling the bigger dental centres in Pattaya to see if they have one available otherwise you’ll need to go to Bangkok. Specialists often visit on set days rather than remain permanently at one clinic as there is unlikely to be enough work to occupy them continuously.

You will definitely need anaesthetic unless the tooth is completely dead already, don’t delay as you risk an abscess which will be an emergency.

I'm surprised, I had root canal removed and cap replacement tooth in Aug, (last month) at Pattaya International,  (19,000)  I also had quotes at Bangkok Pattaya Hospital (27,000).

I think they still do? Anyway good luck!

Maybe PI have started up again for RC or maybe because mine involved a back tooth (3 roots) they don't do those? I was just referring to them and PM Hospital. BTW, the job I had done at Modern Smile was quoted a base price for a metal post and then 2 more expensive prices for 50% gold and 80% gold.

I'd highly recommend Phyathai in Sri Racha.  They got a full dental clinic.  Not just a one man shop.  Prices are very reasonable also.  You can call Gavin Wadell and he'll set everything up for you.   Fantastic service.

I had it done in the dental Cafe Jomtien .Well done without much pain .
