They probably spent too much time in Pattaya and Patpong and came the the conclusion that rape was no big deal in Thailand .

Also if we are honest and Im not a racist at all but a Thai Girl going out with an Africa guy . With the reputation they have as scammers and drug dealers ( Im not saying they are all like that but the ones in Thailand mostly are ) and having pre marital sex etc etc . doesnt say much for the reliability of the girl . Sounds like she was some kind of hooker probably being fed hard drugs by the African crew .

Do i sense a tinge of jealousy that African men are going out with Thai women. Last time i checked, it was up to Thai women who they went out with. Not all Africans do drugs or rape women just as not all Caucasians are pedophiles or marry bar girls. Stop judging a continent of over a billion by actions of a couple of people.

I agree many stories here are poorly assembled. I would guess the suspects were arrested based on a combination of the alleged victims testimony along with cctv identification and perhaps scientific evidence such as dna gathered at the scene? I believe that is how many old school journalists would have written it. But I don't know the stresses The Nation reporters work under deadlines and all

Not sure what the position in Thailand but in many countries certainly Australia if the woman says not even at a late stage in the proceedings and the man continues it can constitute rape

People on here who are accusing people of victim blaming have got it wrong. Firstly rape is a terrible crime and I hate the victim blaming culture. But firstly she is not a victim of anything until they have been found guilty in a court, and while I don't have much faith in the legal system here it is all there is. Secondly the reality is some women do cry rape and many are genuinely raped which is why it needs to go to court to establish the facts. There is no doubt that on the information given in the article there are serious doubts about this case and those people on here crying rape is rape is rape, to me looks like an emotional response rather than a careful analysis of the known facts.
