More new condos in BKK and vicinity expected in 2018

BANGKOK, 9th October 2018 (NNT) - The Thai Condominium Association has forecast a 5% increase in the number of new condominiums being built in Bangkok and the vicinity in 2018.

President of the Thai Condominium Association, Prasert Taedunlayasathit said large Thai real estate developers have jointly invested with foreign companies to buy land, especially land along the electric train lines and in business districts. Next year, there will be new projects on this land, leading to a 5% rise in the number of new condominiums in Bangkok and its vicinity compared with this year, said the president.

Condominium prices in 2018 are expected to rise by 5-7% from this year following an increase in land prices.

President of the Thai Real Estate Association Phonnarit Chuanchaiyasit said that in the last quarter of 2017 the volume of condominiums sold in Bangkok and its vicinity will be valued at around 110-130 billion baht, following the Thai economic recovery. Transportation projects, which will be completed in 2018, will contribute to an increase in the sale of condominiums along the electric train lines.

High-rise condominium prices will be up slightly due to the increasing prices of new projects while low-rise condominium prices will be stable in line with construction material prices, the president added.
