October 9, 20178 yr The passport must be valid for 3 months AFTER the planned departure date from the Schengen country and have at least 2 blank pages. (edit: Under normal circumstances) Source: https://eeas.europa.eu/sites/eeas/files/frequently_asked_questions_en.pdf

Interesting - these from other sources:- https://www.schengenvisainfo.com/schengen-visa-application-requirements/ The passport as well as all the copies of your previous visas, valid for at least 3 months prior to your departure is required. The passport must have at least two blank pages. https://www.schengenvisainfo.com/frequently-asked-questions-schengen-visa/ The person that will be applying for a visa has to make sure he/she holds a valid passport apropos a passport that has been issued no longer than ten years ago and has a period of six months until its expiration date.
