Went to the Chinese Embassy earlier today and met with the same experience that many others have had that they won't give out visas to those in Thailand on a short-term visa or exemption. I was told that I would have to show residency. My question is, does a Non-O Visa for marriage count as residency? I'm in the process of getting my Non-O now but wanted to take care of the Chinese Visa before as I need to travel next month on business. If I get my current Visa exemption (which I just extended today for another 30) changed over to the Non-O, will I be able to go the usual route to get the Chinese Visa?
